Hace unos años tuve el honor de asistir a un concierto que dió The Skatalites en Venezuela... Más de la mitad de público asistente estaba integrado por músicos tanto de la calle como académicos, más que todo de la movida jazz y de las orquestas sinfónicas del país. Básicamente fue un concierto de músicos para músicos. Recuerdo que cada vez que la banda pretendía dar por culminado el concierto, desde público pedíamos más, a lo que los veteranos del ska jazz accedían, sin embargo llegó un punto en el que los organizadores del evento tuvieron que intervenir para poner punto final al concierto, porque la banda ya nos había regalado más de 10 canciones adicionales. En verdad, quedé extasiado por el talento, profesionalismo y humildad de los precursores del ska. Todavía tengo fotos que me tomé con algunos integrantes de la banda, y recuerdo que mi emoción era tal que abracé fuerte Doreen y le di muchos besos... no me podía creer que tenía frente a mí a la fucking Reina del Ska. Qué dulce es mi querida Doreen, ella se reía al verme llorar de la emoción mientras gritaba "I love you Doree", y conmovió al dirigirse hacia mí para abrazarme, besarme y limpiar mis lágrimas con sus manos. En serio amo a The Skatalites, y en especial a Doreen.
The people complaining about this not being the "real" Skatalites need to light another and relax. First they've had this lineup for awhile now and some have been skatalites for yrs or even decades. 2nd, Doreen Shaffer!! 3rd I don't think the Skatalites ever had the same exact lineup from one album to the next and has always had musicians & guests coming and going. Can't wait to see them for like my 6th tme this sunday, so good to know the Skatalites are still playing these GREAT songs and introducing new fans to some of the best music ever made. Outstanding ska, roots/skinhead reggae, whatever you call it, this is Outstanding!! Thank you to the band and whoever uploaded/shared it.
It's one of the trendiest tactics of attention-seeking nay-sayers to gripe whenever a long-running band doesn't have all the exact same members they did 20, 30, or in this case 50 years previous. No one cares, don't go to the show if you don't like it. The rest of us appreciate those who filled in the shoes of those who couldn't continue or passed on.
The current Skatalites are a tribute to the various original members...keeping the songs alive for those who were not born yet. Plus its hard to be in a band when one is no longer walking the Earth.
Yeah they're the same people who support their favourite football team which changes its line up every year yet they never seem to notice that! I have been lucky enough to see The Skataliktes in various line ups over the years. they're incredible, especially when they had many of their original members left who were still skanking into their 80s! When a stage full of pensioners makes you lose your mind then you know you're witnessing something special! Long live SKA!

Früher hatte auch CS-Serien-Monitore die eingebaute Hardwarekalibrierung, ich habe so einen CS2730. Jetzt kaufe ich einen neuen für meine Tochter, und werde auf keinen Fall darauf verzichten; es wird also ein CG Gerät, egal was es koste. Die Fummelei mit der "Spinne" verdirbt nur den Spass.

I saw Lloyd Knibb, Brevett, Sterling, Baba Brooks and Doreen, such a genious, lets enjoy the music they left behind played for great musicians as Andre and Kevin on top, as their site says "Forever indebted to the inspiration and talent of: Roland Alphonso, Lloyd Brevett, Don Drummond, Jerome “Jah Jerry” Haynes, Lloyd Knibb, Tommy McCook, Donat “Jackie” Mittoo, John “Dizzy Johnny”Moore, and Lester Sterling, collectively known as The Skatalites".
