Power Pal Mike Bridges found another amazing "new" Peter Pan record--a full cast audio adaptation of 1982's Conan The Barbarian movie! Produced by PP mainstay Arthur Korb and featuring many recognizable voices (I'm pretty sure whoever is playing Conan also played Superman and Batman at least a couple of times), I had never seen this baby before Mike pointed out to me. Audio-wise, Conan The Barbarian is a blast, despite the fact that this is, after all, an R-rated film being adapted for children. And you can't do better than the sleeve art, taken right from the movie's poster. It's stuff like this that gives me hope there are more Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, et al. stuff out there that we just haven't seen yet. A great find, thanks again Mike!
Great rare upload! Sounds like it could even be from before the 1970 debut of the comicbook version of Conan. Too bad there weren't any credits at the end for the cast, they did a bewt job!
This was recorded way before the movie. The movie was based on the same source material as this adaptation & both are condensed versions, which explains why they would be so similar. And REH is obviously the author of the original story they are condensed from... sooooo... yeeeeaaaahhhh...
@@VomitPinata This is literally an adaptation of an early draft of the 82 film. It was not recorded way before. Subotai and Conan’s origins were made up for the film and were never present in REH’s works. Thulsa Doom was an undead wizard that appeared a single time in a Kull story, not in Conan. And certainly not as the head of a snake cult. Soooooo yeaaahh.
A good adaption of the de camp story but not really Conan. Robert e Howard wrote the stories and they didn't include this one. It was written for money. Not as good as the real Conan but not bad. Conan's family didn't die I. Battle, he wasn't taken as a boy, chain to a mill wheel or a pit fighter. Too many changes just for the sake of movie and money.
This is a really great version. I wish there were more Conan OTR stories.

This is awesome I didn't know they'd done Conan radio shows.
Loved it.
yeah pretty cool. have 3 more ill get up eventually.
Me too. It’s a part of history and if a time we’ll never see again and should be treasured
It isn't a Radio Show it is a read along story book of the Conan The Barbarian Movie.

Yeah, this is not the Robert E. Howard Conan, this is the 1982 movie version.

The Zamora scene...I prefer the simple 'There is a price, barbarian.'
Great regardless.
So I imagine that this very radio drama was influential to the Arnold Conan movie.
so def the '82 Arnold film takes from this 🤔 gem of a recording
