Really glad they brought back the 26+6. I can pack for a week in it and expand it to come home if I buy a few things. Great pricing. And, the new 26 does have the zipper front pocket unlike my old, old one.
I didn't even know about this bag. I have been looking for a cheaper option for the occasional one bag travel experience. This may be it. Plus, I love the Daylite series. This was a great video.
Looks terrific. The old 26+6 has always been such a workhorse and an amazing value. I imagine this will be the same. I am looking forward to your thoughts after some real world usage.
Yeah I think it's going to be a good bag. They had a 44 liter size previously but I never tried it because it seems too big, 35 liter is a good sweet-spot size between 26 and 44.
Great video. I have the old model but seeing this video I have just ordered the new iteration. The separate laptop pouch is something that I wanted as I had to be careful what I pack on top of the laptop not to scratch it. Thanks
I'm interested to see how what is new with the the 26+6. Good review!, as always. One thought is to print the measurements on your sizer box for your videos, the way you do with your packing peanut box.
I have a label maker so I'll do that, good idea. 26+6 is supposed to arrive Tuesday, I'll probably do another short video comparison just to show the updated features and follow up in a week or two with more detail after I've had some time with the new bags.
I was buying a backpack very recently, fell in love at first sight with the 26+6, and then realized it was an outdated model no retailer carried anymore. Quite frustrating to hear it's making a comeback after I've already invested in something else!
I'm confused by the dimensions published on Osprey's website and their claims that the 35 litre "meets all airlines C/O. However, the 37cm width on this 35 litre does come in 1cm over the dimensions for Jetstar and AirAsia (36cm). The 35 litre has the following dimensions: 49H X 37W X 26D CM The 44 litre has: 55H X 36W X 23D CM and the 26+6 has: 43H X 33W X 16D CM
Yeah, the smaller 26+6 size is very popular because it works as a personal item, has good features without being over the top. The 35 is very similar design but just a little larger.
How the 35 L compare with the Patagonia Black Hole Pack - 32 L? I thinking about getting either one. Would love to see comparisons between different brands. Thank you!
Ordered the Patagonia MLC 45 today after watching every one of your videos, haha now I’m hesitating between that one and this one. Which one would you recommend? I don’t see a waist strap option here and no shoulder strap, is that correct? I do love that this one has compression straps on the inside to strap all my stuff in place. I would love a comparison video between those two ❤️
That would be a good comparison. I really like the Mini MLC and 26+6 size, I haven't had much time with this bag yet to make a good decision but it's going to be hard to beat the Mini.
@@OneBagTravels Any chance you will present and test the new Daylite 44l version as well? I am looking for an ultralight Farpoint 40 replacement and exterior dimensions of both bags are exactly the same but the Daylite is much lighter. Would be interesting to see both in a side by side comparison filled with your packing peanuts. ;-)
Oh, now that you mention that I do recall one of my older Osprey packs having that, they must have gotten rid of it because I haven't seen it in awhile.
Hey I really enjoy your reviews. You focus on the details that matter! What do you recommend for good overall bag? Mainly for work, but also for occasional (would be nice to have luggage passthrough)? I'm thinking 26L - 30L.size, currently deciding between the Patagonia 26+6, Mini MLC, and the Aer City Pro
If it's mainly for work I'd go with Aer, I acutally like the Pro Pack better than the City Pack Pro for EDC and work bag. The large compartment is also good for weekend travel, pair it with a sling if it's not enough space. Mini MLC and 26+6 I think work better as travel bags, but they're not as good for work.
If you can pack small enough to fit into 26L go with the 26+6, if not go with the 35. The 26+6 works better when it's unexpanded, the expansion is good to have in case you need it, but that shouldn't be the main way you're carrynig it.
@@OneBagTravels thx mannnthat would be the old 26 model? The new has a diferent expansion style. One last thing do you have the measur,Mets for this both Osprey and the MLC mini?
Check Amazon, they're on Amazon.com in the US right now. I checked Amazon.de, which has the 26+6, but Amazon.fr doesn't seem to have either. So depending on where you are they may or may not be available. I expect they will show up eventually but I can't say when.
@@az0ul Yeah I see I can just order it from Amazon US because it's so cheap I don't even need to pay import fees for it. I also contacted Osprey Europe, and they told me they're expecting new products in early August, so fingers crossed.
Oh damn, I saw it wasn't released in Europe but the US Osprey site wouldn't ship here so had given up. Didn't think to check Amazon US. if I had known that I might have risked ordering from there as son as it was released (but I travel in one week so won't have time now). This is the bag I want! Or maybe the 26+6. Now I have to decide whether to get an alternative just for one trip (long ish trip) because I actually just want this one... ugh
Can you comment on rigidity of the interior frame? Trying to prevent bending stress on the laptop. My current bag isn’t stiff enough, so when the bag is loaded, it flexes, and I get an imprint of the keyboard on my laptop screen (mba m.2).
There are 3 levels of structure/padding. A thin firm foam pad between the laptop sleeve and main bag, the ridged back foam padding, and a plastic frame strip running behind the ridged padding. The plastic frame strip is maybe 3-4 inches wide but runs the length of the back panel. It doesn't make the bag completely stiff, it will still bend a little, but it seems stiff enought to prevent your issue with flexing.
Yeah I just got the mini mlc coming from the far point 40 which visit felt too bulky for the space and this thing is fantastic. Was thinking of returning it for the 35 or 26+6 because they’re half the price but I’ll probably stick with the mlc mini
Would love to see a packing vid in the new 35.

Exactly, not a huge update but some positive improvements

It's new! =) They had a smaller 26 liter model but the 35 just came out this year.
The way u have your own measurement box.... i immediately subscribed haha
I do! Thanks =)
Thanks for the walk through.
Hope get more views since you appear to be the first to review this travel backpack.
Yes hopefully!

Nice, and I'm sure you can find someone to buy the old version of you if you don't want to hang on to it
So looking forward to further reviews on both bags you mentioned.
Hopefully soon

It's back! Yeah that's a bummer when companies switch it up right when you're in the middle of shopping for a bag.
waiting for the review on the updated 26+6, thanks!
Should be in this week! If I have time I'll post an update next weekend.
I really like the new colors 😊
I thought they were weird at first but I'm liking it now that I have the bag. I ordered the 26+6 in the red/purple color, should be fun
@@OneBagTravels , that’s a cool add when our bags are usually dark 😅
Looking forward to the 26+6 review!
Me too!

I'd take "meet all airlines" with a grain of salt, maybe it meets most airlines carry-dimensions, but not all, and not personal item. 26+6 however...
At first glance, it seems like a functional design for 1-bag travel and not over produced like the larger Osprey travel packs.
Yeah, the smaller 26+6 size is very popular because it works as a personal item, has good features without being over the top. The 35 is very similar design but just a little larger.

Don’t think this is available in the UK? Great video. Thank you.
it's on Amazon UK. Search Osprey 26+6 in the Amazon search bar and it should come up. They have 4 of the colors but looks like it's missing the blue.
@@OneBagTravels thank you! 🙏🏼
Wow that a steal for $110
The 35L is $120 and 26+6 is $100, very good deal
I saw website and saw hip belt for 44L version … Wish we can add hip belt even it was sold separately
Yeah that would have been nice if they added that feature

I just got the old 26+6 like a week ago 🙃
It was on sale though right? You're not missing much, a few tweeks but the bag you got is still great.
Have you ever squeezed your luggage in the sizing cage but have not passed the agent after that?
I haven't had that happen.
Wish it had loadlifters
That wouldn't be horrible. I thought maybe they'd be on the 44 but no, at least that bag has a hip belt though.
Do you have any idea when these might become available in Europe? I only see them on the US site now. (I'll ask Osprey too)

I'd love to know the internal dimensions of the laptop pocket, as my laptop is kind of a weird size!
It's about 12" wide and 14-15" Tall. The top tapers so 14 on the corners and a little over 15 at the tallest point in the middle.
Can you comment on rigidity of the interior frame? Trying to prevent bending stress on the laptop. My current bag isn’t stiff enough, so when the bag is loaded, it flexes, and I get an imprint of the keyboard on my laptop screen (mba m.2).

Can you make a comparison video of this and the cotopaxi allpa 35l?
Yes, but I have to get the new Allpa first
@@OneBagTravels awesome, looking forward to it!
Hi. I need to decide quickly between 35 and 26+6. Please help
See other comment =)
Can this bag be attached to the Farpoint Trek 75l backpack?
That would be a big bag 😳 I don't have the Trek 75 so I don't know how the attachment system works.
Those lobster claws are quite unsightly. I’ll stick with the MLC Mini normal buckles.

They are unsightly, they work fine but it's an interesting design choice.
wish the laptop compartment is optional. if i'm on holiday, wont bring laptop...too heavy and bulky
The padding takes up a little bit of space but it's not too bulky if you're not carrying one.
If you want to get rid of the old 26l one ... let me know.
I need it for the comparison =)
