I dislike so much Tokyo, New York and Paris. I prefer Krakow, Wroclaw, Prague, Lviv, Budapest and Vienna.
It is based on the timeout Index, which has LGBT bias (read between the lines...the most welcoming, energetic, cultured and resilient cities==LGBT friendly). No surprise that SF is number one!

Didn’t expect Manchester on the list. Also, Amsterdam a bit surprising to me given how crowded it can be - would have expected Copenhagen higher on the list.

I actually preferred San Diego over San Francisco, but that was almost 10 years ago. Copenhagen was awesome, so walkable.

Great lists, but as an American, I can't be bias!!! Auckland New Zealand should be on the list!!! If this list is the 2021 edition, you have to take into consideration of cities that remain open from 2020. New Zealand did the best job of any country with little or NO masked wearing because of how it contained the virus. Also, Auckland is and out dorsey type of city with the world's largest sailing regatta , public parks, open air art, beaches and attractions - also nightlife with restaurants, bars, museums and theatres!!!!!
Most of Auckland feels like the hood.

I'm baffled by this list. It doesn't include any cities in France, Germany or Italy - yet it puts Copenhagen 4th & Manchester 3rd!
Copenhagen is brilliant tho. As a German I would say our best City is def Hamburg and I thought they would put it at least in hm if not top 10. Manchester and San Francisco are way to high for me and I expected London at the top but overall this list is fine compared to others I‘ve seen.

I live on the south shore of Montréal! It's a great city for its night life, old quarter (Vieux- Montréal), festivals... Of course with the pandemic, not much going on! :(

San Francisco being one of the most beautiful cities in the world with the most unique and one of the most richest and successful should be enough of an incentive to see why San Francisco would be number one
I’m from SF, it still has a lot of cleaning up to do. The politics are upside down, income inequality, transportation is congesting, loss of diversity, and the weather isn’t for everybody.
And the “people” of San Francisco are almost from everywhere but San Francisco. Most are their to advance their career in its cutthroat job market don’t expect to see any friendly hippies smiling at you there

Kind of a dumb list. The characteristics that are mentioned don’t differentiate these cities from any other major cities in the world that are great. Paris, Rome, Vancouver, Singapore…you get the idea

I've been to Amsterdam and alot of my friends really enjoyed but I found it very overrated and underwhelming.
Very Expensive and really don't like how the bicycle lanes are on the road but also where the sidewalks are as part of one lane, also found nothing unique about it and its now trying to go down the route of an anti tourist agenda
