I always love Ice T interviews. He’s one of those rare breeds who’s articulate in many ways. Dude is both street articulate and even though he ain’t an academic he still has learnt enough to be book articulate. One of those rare breeds who can talk at Harvard and Harlem and sound as wise as the wisest in both settings. True OG. Can move with the kings and the kingpins the same.

This is IMO one of the biggest problem in the black community, its the lack of teaching financial independence. Real estate and the US Stock market are the two biggest wealth creators and thats why there is huge income and wealth inequality …. There needs to be a big push towards creating black owned business with ownership of the real estate and teaching to invest profits into the stock market and Crypto market. You should do a series of shows with guest that are successful entrepreneurs and investors. Seeking wealth and getting rich$ is awesome and everyone can do it

Ice T is Hiphop to me, as a kid he was the guy who made me realise rap was the shit I like to hear the most. I listen to pretty much every genre and subgenre but I don't think there's a week that goes by where I don't listen to Iceberg or O.G. You can't love rap music and not love Ice T #FACTS !

Came across your podcast and I'm proud to see you are reppin KCMO, Brother! Great interview with the OG Ice T. Really enjoyed it.
As far as people not respecting the knowledge they are given, it can be for a couple reasons. Some people just have they hand out, no clue what to do with it, but we live in a capitalist society, so they feel that's the number one step. Mainly, though, people can't just receive game, they have to be taught to apply it first. There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom. Look at it this way, humans have been on this planet (in a conscious sense, anyways) for about 10,000 years, but still suffer from the same failings in relationships, parenting, addiction, emotions, governance, etc over and over. Thousands of years of history and still no basic guidebooks for movement and we just keep repeating the same mistakes generation after generation. We have to be taught how to apply game, just as much as receiving that game. Once understands how to apply that knowledge, then one will have the wisdom to understand the gift that has been given.
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to say how much I appreciated this interview. Keep up the great work. KCMO love, Brother.

Ice-T is the man. As a fellow person from Los Angeles, it's great to hear the history of gangs. I wish he in this interview he touched more on the movement from early hip hop and electro to what he became. The 1981-1986 period and what really got him to into hip hop and what helped him evolve out of the earlier styles musically. Obviously the trend went that way like with Dre and world class wreckin cru to NWA but I'm curious to hear more about his work during the time of Killers. And maybe his thoughts about Tibetan jam/reckless and how that came about. How he feels about being a part of one of the best electro cuts of all time. I wonder if he fully knows the influence of that track on electronic community. I would love to know what Ice-T thought of the breakin days, graffiti and did he feel pressure to be from the east or west coast musically as he wss coming up.

I agree - great interview, but thats the part of Ice T’s career is rarely talked about. That was the REAL of Ice T’s career and westcoast rap in general. When Electro and rap was merged and it was all about partying, battling on the mic and dance floor and having fun. Before gangsta rap

Wow! Wow! *WOW!* One of the best interviews I've ever seen. I was thinking 2 hrs 36 mins, I'm kinda busy to just sit here and listen to this whole show...I'm at the end and wishing it was another 2 hours longer. Anyone reading this, if you don't have time to watch this, save this in your watch later list, you don't wanna miss this. I enjoyed the life lessons about business too, especially about "90% of businesses fall through, best not to talk about it, wait for it to happen." Highly entertaining and informative. 10/10.

I listened to Ice-T and Spike in that Split Decision book - a very good read, and even better listen when you hear their voices. Some of the same material is in it, but I enjoyed hearing some of the history as only OG Ice-T can tell it.
