LOL! 😂 And here we Musky fisherman use 50 - 100 lb Braided mainline, with 45 - 175 lb leaders, the 2 - 8 oz Big Fishing Lures and here the BIG Musky takes the small jig (he must have not eaten enough to prepare for winter). As a Musky Fisherman I must say… “It’s time to add ONE MORE ROD TO THE LINE UP!” (3 foot pole, lil dinky reel, 3lb test 😎) Guy 1: “Ya goin for crappie?” Me: 😳😠😡……. “-No; Musky, can’t you tell by the setup?”
Awesome catch…. My neighbor did the same thing years ago… (not ice fishing though).. He was perch fishing in a gravel pit with a tiny ultra light pool and 4lb line… Hooked a perch… reeling it in and 45” Northern hit it… barely hooked.. by the smallest piece of skin in the corner of the mouth… Fought him for over 5 minutes.. slow rolling him… Got him in though…
Same thing happened to me while jigging for perch. Had 2lbs test and fought that musky for 50 minutes. Best battle I ever had. 40” musky got a pic and put her back in the water. I was just glad I had an 10” hole in the ice when jigging.
While fishing on the French River in Ontario, one of the fellas in our group landed a 59 lb. Musky on a 4” Bomber lure while fishing for walleye. His was caught using 8lb. test line. What a fish!!
That's awesome. Ive only caught 1 pike myself. 1/3 of the size of that fish but mine was 3lb test as well. I remember it being camouflage color. Fishing for perch and other pan fish. Was a great memory. Beautiful catch from u guys tho
True when catching lazy fish like musky... but a fast running fish can easily put more than 3lbs of pressure on the line just from drag through the water
A similar thing happened to my brother. My mom, dad, my brother, and I went on a trip to Lake Chautauqua in New York and he was using an ultralight perch rod with a perch spreader when he said he was feeling bites. He pulled something to the top and we all thought he was snagged on a huge clump of seaweed. He got it to the top maybe 30 ft away and he said he saw the dorsal fins of a walleye and then it went back under. This time when the fish surfaced, it was a huge Muskie. The perch spreader was wrapped around the Muskie’s neck, and he managed to get it about 6 feet from the boat when… Our dog jumped off the boat trying to attack the fish. It jumped away and snapped the line which was only 2-4 lb. line.
You sir are blessed . The reason being line didnt snap. And the brother you helped grabbed that fish like it was a leaf off a tree. God bless and keep on fishing
@danthefisher I watched the video and didn't see more than a split second of support then the hands moved off...us musky fishermen appreciate good handling of fish we catch and release.
@@paulziebell2479 im not sure where my hand moved off in the video? I saw my hand shift further up the belly to help with the weight distribution but thats about all i saw 🤷
@marktaft6467 I don’t doubt it at all. My brother once reeled in a Muskie from the bottom of a lake on a light-action panfish rod. The line was either 2 or 4 lb. test.
Insane catch on 3lb line!
Remember when Triline made commercials like this back in the 90s but this is actually real 😂
Next video: “GIANT Bluegill Caught on 100lb Test with 130lb Leader.

Fight that long eventually killed that fish

Musky’s and pike are two different species btw.
Great catch, and great work fighting this whooper! What a memory
Time, patience and great angling there, well done 🎣
That fish is bigger than any fish that I have ever caught my biggest fish was a little two pound perch and I didn't keep it either
Way to stay chill! Amazing fish!! 🐬
During open water I exclusively use salt water gear for Muskies. A Penn Slammer 6000 and a Stella 6000 and they work extremely well. ❤💯
Line weight doesn’t matter the rod doesn’t matter. It’s just how you fight the fish.

That’s freaking awesome, congrats on such a beast!
How is this even possible!!😱🤯
Great C & R!! Fun outing 🍻
You Rock Dan! Thats incredible
He is a paid actor no shot

Catch & Release Monster Musky!
Thank you!!
Gah Lee that’s a biggin! Nice catch! 🤙🏻🎣
Why isn't the fish fighting when it comes out of the water?
Because it’s tired that’s how all fish are lol
You sir are blessed . The reason being line didnt snap. And the brother you helped grabbed that fish like it was a leaf off a tree. God bless and keep on fishing
What kind of rod are you using?
That's a real pretty looking one too, silver colored
Talk about finesse
Cool fish
Thats a proper crocodile...
Just gotta let them play it out.. this is the most satisfying way to catch fish imo
🎣👀 Congratulations young man!! Beautiful musky🫡
beefy fishy
That’s insane awesome muskie
Riiiight. 🙄
How long did that take?
Big ass fish hell yeah
Man that Muskie looked almost like a giant steelhead with two tone silver n no pattern or green
Thats insane!
Now catch one on 3lb test in the summer.
Lad putting the fish back in and it moves and the fish siwms WHOAAAWIE 😂😂😂 so dumb
Awesome!!!
That was Awesome! Omg so damn cool 🤩🥰🥰💕
Rip Muskie
If your using 3lb test, you are fishing for bait lol.
Thats right good observation
If this was in the summer 100% dead fish
But it wasn’t
But that’s WACK
Why do you call it a musky when it’s a pike
That'd dope asf
What a day boys.
Show your liveecholot too
That's amazing🎉
Nice fish fellas
Nice job!
Insane Dan!
Support the belly next time you pose for a pick with a musky.
My hand was mid way through supporting it 👍

Epic gents
Holy cripes
You have a double hole drilled for perch? . . . Yeah, I'm not buying it.
Aslong as your confident in your theory thats what matters 👍
I do that for perch because I use a vexlar and when I reel them up with one hole it gets tangles up
Why would you let that much meat go away
it's JOEYKAOTIC ?

Daaaaayyymmm
nice remember jesus is king And Lord Glory To The Highest God Amen. !!!!
