Homelander is the most intimidating character of recent memory. Just his presence puts you on edge because he can literally do anything he wants. Starr is fantastic.
Except the show can be inconsistent with the way they treat his powers. There is no way he shouldn't have killed Hughie in episode 3, unless he just didn't want to.
@@BedbugGamingto be fair there was zinc in the air ducts so he couldn’t see him and probably couldn’t hear as well because of the ice skating show going on
And then the season will end with neither of them dying somehow and everything will revert back to the status quo, like every season of this shitty show
Bra just say what you want to say. They’re just going into his backstory. He’s always been a murderer and sexual deviant that uses drugs sex as a form of coping. You just couldn’t see it in earlier seasons because it was used as the punchline to a joke.
I like how one of the background guys in the lab eats more cake when Homelander starts torturing his tornentors. The guy knew it was his last meal and he's going to enjoy it.
At the time he was shooting heroin in his ankles that’s why they looked like that, he hasn’t been using a needle for years so it would not be noticeable.
I mean tbf I think there’s more things that draw the eye instead of the ankles, you’re not really gonna be inspecting someone’s ankles if you’re fucking them
yeah, that's about the only thing that make sense with this video. The boys episode 4 is extremely poorly written, and the only thing that remotely interesting is how crazy Homeland is, and even that is a bit poorly written. There is a very lack of depth with how he evolve, like he can do what he had done, but can he has a deeper thought that would convince people what he done is justified? (although he would be still be wrong at the end), because a crazy yet in his own way rational villain is more horrifyingly than just a lunatic, which Homelander is right now.
@@IshmaelDoe Yeah, umm, I don't think you should be telling anyone anything about writing poorly. You just hit us with a 7 line long run-on sentence filled with typos, spelling mistakes and awful grammar.

I'm very surprised that they literally could not come up with anything more interesting for Frenchie to do. He was done dirty by the writers with his plot line. Only other big complaint is how stupid starlight looked to beat Firecracker on Live TV, WHEN EARLIER she's talking to the president acting like they need her for the superhero bill. She couldn't wait like a few hours. Loving the stuff they've been doing with butcher, homelander, and sister sage though.
yeah but the idea is she was wronged by the uploading of her medical records, at that point it's not logic its rage and something sage betted on being calculating and having it all planned out. lol so the criticism isn't really valid.
@kieranb7747 No I get that it's purely emotional. I just think it doesn't add up with the stakes involved. Its one thing to beat her ass and ruin her reputation, but to do it in the same episode they emphasize how important the superhero bill is. I mean Starlight isn't a brilliant mastermind, but this is kind of a big blunder that's deep levels of dumb.
So many people are happy this show is pissing people off. Imagine being happy that a television show is purposely manipulating people and bragging about it. We truly do live in the dumbest timeline. It used to be conspiracy theorists pointing this out, and everyone called them crazy. Now the showrunners are openly and proudly admitting they're trying to piss people off, and when people point it out, they still call them crazy and praise the showrunners for doing it. Wild. Just wild.
You are just mad he is bi or gay or whatever…. The whole starlight vs firecracker beat down was nice to watch. Homelander forcing the scientist in the furnace was epic.
@LordAlmightyIAm I'm cool with him being Bi. He would be more french lol It's just Colin is such an afterthought and has no place in the story. I don't like having him stuck in a will he won't he plotline when he was a much more active character in the earlier seasons. Sister Sage and Firecracker are good new characters that I can see how they tie into the story. Colin as he's been presented so far has been pointless, except reminding Frenchie what a terrible person he was/is. It's just when we are one and a half seasons to the end, filler plot lines I'll be less patient and more critical of. Also in case it wasn't clear, I loved the episode. Those were just my biggest critiques so far.
I think they are setting up Homelander going insane...not just evil, INSANE. I think he is killing the president and taking over the White House, and season 5 will pretty much be everybody vs Homelander.
@@YoshimiPinkRobot Firstly....ew. And no I'm pretty sure Ryan will be Season 5's main antagonist considering how he's been acting this season. It might end with him .
@@empty6155 Ryan doesn’t have villain in him. He was bawling his eyes out because he accidentally killed a dude. He won’t be a villain. They threw that away.
Yep. "I need my special powers back.. but it's a bad idea for anyone else!" They act like that supes having been supes should always be supes, just because their parents shot them up with a drug. (In Kimiko's case, it was against her will much older, too!)
To be fair Kimiko is practically the main muscle in the group. She’s had her powers since like….we first met her? Besides the time she lost them but even then. She knows how fucked up compound V is. Especially since she was being tested on before she met The Boys. Also I’m pretty sure she was more surprised to see A-Train giving the V to Hughie. Like- A-Train out of all people.
@@BlazingOwnagerkimiko knows first hand the deal with the devil that is the V and is currently fighting hard to get her humanity back. Because of it she is in a position where she is targeted and gets the most suffering and pain of the group. She doesn’t want her friends to go through the same thing
Didnt click when i first saw that bloodied instrument. Guess she wants to knock herself down a few hundred iq and turn hoey. Wouldnt drugs or alcohol have the same effect though
There are some common misconceptions,so I hope this helps. SPOILER WARNING 4..Is just my assumption on the matter everything else is a fact. 1. The brain tumor Butcher had by taking temporary V mutated by taking permanent V into a parasite and it gets triggered when it's host is in near death situations because it feeds off him, at least until it doesn't need him anymore will see how that goes. 2.Butcher obviously had a blackout since the parasite took control and he doesn't remember. 3.There is an episode in the animated show Diabolical about a similar scenario. 4.Beca's hallucination could be the parasite talking which would suggest that maybe it's a symbiotic (Venom) kind of situation. 5.Butcher used Nitrogen on Ezekiel, a few moments before they showed the label as well. 6.Hughie's mother saw him put compound V in he's pocket (It's obvious she was standing on that door at least for a bit)since she works at Vought and knows her stuff its apparent what follows next when he leaves he's jacket to get coffee she takes the V and uses it on the father she's not a hallucination which some people are apparently thinking. The hints were eye glaring the only thing missing was an exposition dump to be more obvious I don't get how some people miss that.
I shit on shows and movies so often for explaining the most obvious things all the time.... and then when they dont do it for once you get comments from people not understanding very obvious hints and im wondering if they werent right in the end for exposition dumping for the wider audience.
@@ChopSueyyy it's wild, these are the same people that aggressively BEG for shows they can't even understand lmao. The Boys, as a piece of media, is doing a really good job at parsing through who has "media literacy" skills, and those you don't, amongst comic book movie enjoyers.
The sad part is that people need all of this explained to them. I really liked the writing, including the pills in Firecracker's purse being used for inducing lactation. Personally I thought that on your point 6 that Hughie decided not to use the V, but then her mom had brought some with her as she's been working for Voight, but that doesn't fly because HL has a monopoly on the stuff. It would also have taken agency from Hughie, as now whatever hells Simon Pegg is gonna go through, it'll be on Hughie and he'll eventually have to kill his own Dad.
I’m starting to think the visions Billy keeps having are the worm things way of communicating with him, like it’s manifesting the visions of his wife as way to talk to him. It’s clearly tied to him now, so if billy dies so does the worm. Would explain why it saved him from being choked to death.
The fact that every critique of the Frenchie subplot is met with “Oh, you just hate gay Frenchie” is really telling. It’s not that he’s gay, it’s that the subplot is completely pointless, it ruins the Frenchie x Kimiko relationship, it takes spotlight from better plots, and it hinges entirely on a main character falling deeply in love with someone who was just introduced within the span of 1 episode. The way I put it to my friends who watch this show is, if Frenchie met a random girl in 4x01, then hooked up with her before the end of the episode, then Kimiko in the next episode was like “Oh yeah you go get her brotha!” I’d be just as irritated. Anyone who resorts to saying “You just hate gay Frenchie” because his subplot happens to be incredibly redundant and lackluster, is drinking the Kool-Aid like no tomorrow.
Honestly my only issue is that it’s boring, thankfully in this most recent episode the subplot was actually good. Also in my opinion this doesn’t ruin the previous seasons development cuz last season ended with Frenchie and kimiko wanting to be family instead of anything else
@Gouda992 the subplot was good where? I'd love to know what mental gymnastics you had to do in order to find it "good" lmao let's breakdown objectively why you're wrong. It's weak writing, and I mean that very harshly seeing as The Boys hinges on its great characters and writing. Kimko and Frenchie did NOT end on "family" terms last season. She literally gets jealous on the very 1st episode because of Frenchie revelation that hr loves Colin. She even gets drunk, tries to make Frenchie jealous by saying she slept with a guy from a coffee shop, and went through his phone. Even her telling him to "go after him" you CLEARLY see she's upset that Frenchie chooses Colin over her. Yeah that's so family like. It's painfully obvious she's in love with him and when they talk about it Frenchie says "we need to figure out our own problems" which Kimko clearly hates because they've been inseparable for 4 seasons. Let's jump on why this is lazy, OBVIOUS pandering nonsense. We get introduced Colin in 1 episode, just one, and we get told this ridiculous off screen story of how Frenchie murdered his family. That's fine, then we get the obvious pandering of forcing Frenchie then to magically be in love with the man whom he killed his entire family. It's even mentioned how stupid it is when Frenchie calls his ex lover and explains it. The show even recognized it's stupid, yet I'm positive the writers had zero choice but to include it since Mave is gone. A better way of writing would've been to introduce Colin much earlier. Or atleats build up the story for a few episodes before forcing them to be in love. It's so bad even the show admits it. Hope this helps! Have a good one.
@@xShikari The people who hate Frenchie being gay are different than the people who hate Frenchie’s character being shafted and wasted. It was hinted that Frenchie was bisexual since the second season. Unfortunately, I have come to notice that regardless of your critique of Frenchie’s arc this season, you get lumped in with the homophobic crowd. My point is, the people defending the shitty writing surrounding Frenchie this season by resorting to calling critics homophobic and not listening to what they’re saying, are idiots, and that I’m tired of that crutch being used to defend shitty writing.
Frenchie is literally about to be taken out by a side character in this episode and the guy backs off last second and says “if you come near me again, I’ll off you” like yea okay buddy, frenchie literally solo’d your whole family while you hid under a bed. That whole storyline is literally so uninteresting.
If they were going to force a new relationship for him they should have done it in a prior season. Everyone should of had that shit figured out by now given the current stakes.
For real, when i first saw that scene i thought he was a child when Frenchie killed his family and i was like WTF? So i had to rewatch the scene only to find out it was a grown ass man hiding under the bed...This show basically ruined Frenchie in less then 20 mins
That scene wasn't about wheter or not he possess as actuall threat to Frenchie who wasn't really fighting back by the way. The point was: If he see's Frenchie he will go for the kill, so either he or Frenchie will die.
I just wish by now, in season 4, the Boys were an actual cohesive unit. Everyone is doing their own thing when Homelander is out and about and arguably more dangerous than ever WHILE Ryan is with it. Butchers kicked out? Fine but the rest should be working consistently close. All this side shit for what? Only side thing going on worth while is Hughies dads dilemma
Literally the first episode was the Boys at their peak. In the comics, Butcher was never really a team-player or rather he was a teammate in his own way, either way, the team needed to separate from him in order to realize his importance. MM is a good leader in a strategic sense, and BB is a good leader in a physical sense. They established that very well while allowing personal arcs to grow. Comprehension is a skill some of you viewers lack, I've come to realize.
The whole subplot of MM kicking Butcher from the team felt like a rehash of season two when Hughie and Butcher had a falling out. The team should already know by now that while Butcher is not a likable person, he’s necessary for the team
Exactly. MM didn't explain at all why he changed his mind and let him back in. "Guys, shit is getting crazy and we could use him". Bitch, it's always been crazy. That was so stupid.
@@SonGohan-gh1yl Thank you! This fucking show keeps retelling itself: Frenchie did bad things back in the day, Hughie isn't sure about anything... But I gotta say, even Homelander's "managed" unhingedness is getting tiresome by this point. Now that I think of it, The Boys are the least interesting thing on this show lol
@@keldonb2240They’re not going that route they seem to be adapting it because it’s clear they are using the visions of Becca as the way of the thing speaking to Butcher meaning it has sentience like a symbiote.
@@Byronic19134 I don’t think it has sentience, so far it hasn’t done anything besides mindlessly destroy what’s around it, like cancer tends to do, and exactly what the tumor did in Diabolical. Butcher is also hallucinating his old war buddy. The parallel is between Becca and Kessler, one symbolizing his humanity and one his hate. It’s a purely internal conflict
The meds that Frenchie found in Firecracker's trailer have a few different uses, but one of them is to induce or enhance lactation. When she told Homelander she was willing to do anything for him, seems like she meant it. Homie is going to be getting his milk supply direct from the source.
One thing im surprised you didnt mention is how UNBELIEVABLE it is that frenchie's lover hasnt noticed the cigar burns on his ankle at all anytime they are having sexy time. I found that ridiculous.
unless you have a weird kink not paying attention to an ankle during sex is not that strange lol. The unbelievable part is that of all the people in the world, he just happened to work AND fell in love with a guy who he killed the family of. The same week when Mimiko happens to find his sister two block away in NY of all places. All the subplots are soap opera level of drama bs.
I'll be honest, I'd usually be a little too preoccupied to notice my partners ankles lol. It's still dumb, but I don't think it's THAT unbelievable that he wouldn't have noticed.
Not gonna lie, Homelander was in the right this time around. These monsters tortured a child, and no amounts of "I was just following orders" or "I'm sorry" changes what they had done. They didn't even remember all the trauma they inflicted on him, and they're only apologizing once they're suffering consequences for it.
They didn't kill or molest him though. Punished? Yes. Torn limb from limb? No. The worst thing they did was put him in the oven room, which is torture no doubt, but still the punishment did not fit the crime. Maybe laser off his arm or something for pushing the button, but let him live lol. Not that Homelander cares about any of that.
Its such a mixed morale grey area, Barbara explains how they all feared for their lives because this baby split open his mother at birth and started flying, killed many doctors and nurses, killed lots of staff, no "kryptonite" of sorts so they tested everything on him as a way to kill him. But that also didn't work so they psychologically made him obedient with the lust for approval and love. But this is Vought who are the real bad guys for doing bad things, if he had a supportive normal upbringing, he could have been like superman, the Dr in Season 1 even says Homelander should have been raised a caring family, not a lab.
It's probably because there's alot more characters now with their own stories. prior seasons there were less characters but more team ups so less seperate plots. I think maybe the writers are trying to show that the cast aren't morally above the supes either, frenchie, kimiko, starlight. I wouldn't be surprised if MM did some shit in his past too.
I've had fun from ep 1. I thought the whole storyline about Homelander going "home" was boring as it was just about waiting for the next gory kill, because it was 100% certain that he'd end up killing everyone. Like watching one of those Saw movies where the point is only to fap over the gory kills. Not my thing.
@@Isnogood12 I think they were kinda just ramping up to that as you weren't certain when he'd do it, you just knew he was going to. This is also him letting go of his past, in a way.
For Barbara, I don't think she'll die in the room. But I also don't think she'll make another appearance. The reason I think that she won't die is because she wasn't at lab at the start and had to be called in. I imagine she called Vought before arriving. So, they probably be at the lab within a day to check on them.
@@michaellabonte6390 It is still an active Vought lab. Just because it wasn't Homelander focus doesn't mean it doesn't have worthwhile info on Vought projects. They will send someone there.

AJ, the reason why people think Hughie injected his dad with V is because if it was his mom, it's strange she knew what Compound V looks like despite never seeing it in her life (her job at Vought wouldn't have made her privy to it either), and she immediately went to inject her ex-husband with it no questions asked. She also never cared to ask Hughie where and how he got it. It made people theorize he's been hallucinating his mother the whole time.
>don’t care about Hughie and his Mom >Don’t care about Kimiko side arc >Don’t care about Frenchie/Colin There’s just so much filler bullshit this season.
@@CaptainDope This is why I told people that ending the show on three would've been the best idea. Ryan smiling would've left a dystopian,,, unsettled feeling in the viewers and we could've left off on that. The problem, and the only problem, with the show is its fan-base. The show cultivated a fan base that watches only for the action and gore, which is understandable, but they shouldn't be annoyed when a series inevitably becomes more subtly psychological and emotional. People should've assumed that S4 would be mainly politically focused...the main plot device is mental gymnastics. They introduced two new characters with no powers, they only serve as mental antagonists. Basic logic.
Gen v is fantastic you guys are missing out. And it’s already crossed over the plot line in gen v is paramount to to the boys Also homelander was in gen v
I think you guys are being stubborn about Gen V, especially as reviewers. It's not "homework", it's legitimately The Boys season 3.5 and feels like it. I was apprehensive too at first because of teen-focused plotlines, but it was great television and true to the chaos and brutality of the main show. I almost even like it better than this current season of the main show lol
Yeah I skipped Gen V for a while because I expected it to be superhero Degrassi. It really surprised me with how much of the brutality and dark comedy it retained from the main series.
It was actually pretty good, yeah. Kinda thought they went way over the top with the social media thing. It was treated as 100% evil and a joke most of the time, but didn't give it legitimacy as a story point.
I like this channel. But angry Joe talks for 15 minutes. Asks the other guys for their opinion, and within 10 seconds he's talking over them, everytime! Let's the dudes talk uninterrupted for 5 minutes, like they do. Am I alone I this?
My whole thing is why is that place so accessable? In a world full of dangerous meta humans, why is the room of people that tortured the strongest one only have 1 guard with a handgun?
They're on the 6th level basement and I think the assumption is Homelander took out everybody above them. They lose all camera feeds and can't contact anybody, so they were probably all already dead before the episode even started.
Lol i dont get why you think 10 guards-100 guards are in that small ass basement would make a different, they still wouldnt do anything or could do anything
They were interesting enough as side characters but when you focus on them, they're plain boring, just a waste of screen time at this point. Her plot armor is also getting super annoying, she's basically unkillable, just a one dimensional ass character.
Well, in The Boys comic Huey (Simon Page in the comis, father of the TV show Huey) fights Web Weaver (The Boys Spider-Man)... So I think they are going for that in some way.
Im disappointed how some of the other supes get no character development whatsoever. The Deep has been a bumbling idiot for all 4 seasons and hasn't developed at all. But I guess that's his purpose he's just comedic relief
We are four episodes in and even then, you're wrong. The Deep has become more of a prominent character since episode 2 due to Sage. They are building his aggression...slowly but surely. A-Train has been on the best redemption arc I've seen in LA series Noir is a whole new character who we're most likely going to learn about later on I mean...just watch and analyze a show that's created for that purpose and I'm sure you'd be amazed at the information you could retain.

@@eaglesphan5650 I wouldn't doubt the possibility, but then again, I also just think Stan's arc was confirmed to be concluded when he convey his disinterest and dissatisfaction of the superhero business. But, again, you could be right.
Starr and homelander are carrying this season hard. I am enjoying it a lot, but purely just for the Homelander storyline. Can we talk about the bs scene where a sniper is pointed at Hughies face but 2 seconds later starts blasting above his head? Or how Starlight looked surprised when MM pointed out she was on live TV, even though the only reason she knew Firecracker had spread her private info was cause SHE SAW IT ON TV. The Boys is easy one of my favourite series of the streaming era, but this season has been riddled with poor writing and convenient plot points…
I think the Starlight thing is just because she was tunnel-visioned into a rage and MM had to bring her back by REMINDING her she's live. Just how I see it
I got a feeling Hughie will go on. Think about it his Dad is a Super now…. And we don’t know if he will be a “Good Guy.” His father is gonna come back as a Super and what he does with his powers will be the Arc going forward. Edit: DUH HIS MOM DID IT! SHE GAVE THE V TO HIM
Isn't it implied that the mom is just in his head similar to Butcher with his wife and possibly also Negan? No one has interacted with her besides Hughie. Effects of taking Temp V...or maybe not since we don't know of Hughie having a brain problem too.
A train slipped in the V to save someone before homelander kills him anyway.his brother saying the truth to his sons about not saving anyone is eating him alive
In the comic's, he could be taken down with heavy weapons, or mass firepower. In the show, his need to be loved, is his downfall. His dependence on Vaught, to maintain his lifestyle is great.
But to be fair that sexy woman was with french at the beginning of the series as well and the stuff with his new love interest with trying to wrap up the stuff that was going on with him in the russian. So it is not completely out of nowhere.
That surviving lady will eventually be saved when the company goes in the next day to clean up the disaster and finds one of the doors welded shut. Worst case scenario, a night of sleeping with body parts around you, but the upside is some crazy stories to tell your grandchildren.
If this episode was Homelander alone it would’ve been PERFECT. Some of the writing seems off compared to season 3, like one moment butcher is dying and he tells everyone then MM kicks him out then he’s okay working with him and then out of nowhere he just lets him back in the team
Butcher saved MM's life earlier this season, pretty sure thats why he changed his mind, in fact theres a whole scene of him talking to butcher about this... dont know why your trivializing it. But yes I personally hate the Frenchie story line.
@@smkeybare but didn’t MM even tell butcher “too little too late” on the last episode? I need to rewatch it again to grasp the context but I think butcher was trying to make amends and ask for help and MM kinda brushed him off
I dont get how people miss the frenchie stuff, its explained in the show. Hes a “dog” as in he responds to strong leadership which is why he was doing good, now the boys teams is kind of all over the place with the team leadership and frenchie is falling back on his own vices and making horrible decisions. Hes a horrible person , but a great follower. Hes falling apart right because he doesn’t know how to take care of himself.
I think Hugie's Dad is going to wake up and be a Brainless Supe. Did the V heal his brain fully before waking up? Would it continue to heal after he's awake?
Jeffrey dean morgans character is definitely a hallucination, i rewatched the episodes with a friend of mine and noticed he’s always wearing the exact same outfit with the tie loose. Basically butcher has an angel and a demon on each shoulder when you include Becca
I don’t understand the look of disgust on Alex’s face when Joe asked if he would watch Gen V. It’s a great spin off to an awesome show. I don’t get it.
People are saying it was hughie because people don't think the mother exists. Saying his mother was his excuse in his mind to use the compound v. A side effect from the shit butcher gave him last season
The cake scene is so good, because that feeling where you don’t wanna eat something sweet but you feel obligated to engage in the social environment, but on steroids lol
They are just trying to shock its viewers at this point because they have nothing else. The story this season is all over the place without knowing what to do with any of its characters. Its so disappointing
This whole season has been a waste of time. It's clear they have run out of material and are just milking this thing. They spend way too much time on these boring pointless side stories of the main characters. Frenchie's is the worst. Three seasons without a word about it, and now he's suddenly gay. LOL. And his side story is pointless to the main story. So is Starlight's and Hugie's. Waste of time. Season 4 has no purpose at all, except to drag this thing out.
“Three season without a word about it and now he’s suddenly gay” 😂😂😂 There’s literally a scene last season of Frenchie and the Russian lady talking and she literally says how when they both had sex and she would put on a STRAP ON 😂😂😂 I’m no genius but when a man likes to be pegged he’s either gay or bi sexual 😂🤷♂️ Just say you wasn’t paying attention to the show 😂😂😂
So on the Simon pegg plot point. It makes so much sense for a zombiefied V. First Huey comic was based on Simon pegg. Second Simon pegg essentially blew up from a movie called Shaun of the Dead. Now Actor Simon Pegg gets to play as a zombie-like for the boys.
Spoiler from Comics... They are clearly going to do the coup attempt in the comics where homelander and the other supes takeover both the pentagon and white house. If they do the coup this season, then Homelander could be killed off at the end of this season unless they drag it out into season 5, which I really hope they do not do. When they tried it in the comics it ended pretty quickly, with the supes getting destroyed by the usa military, and Homelander was killed off by his evil clone.
@@panzershreck8077 It'll be as blatant, obnoxious and on the nose as it possibly can be without just literally showing footage from Jan. 6th, which I could see them doing as well.
I hope they don't drag this out into season 5. While yes, homelander and vought are the most visible antagonists in The Boys, Butcher is meant to be the true antagonist of the series. After Homelander's death, Butcher decides to just flat out murder every single supe on the planet, including starlight, with a sonic super weapon that blows up the heads of supes. Seems like they are replacing this with the virus on the show, but I hope it goes the same route with Butcher taking out his crew one by one until it's just him and hughie.
@@mrcreed1256Butcher has been making all the right decisions this season. I don't see him purposely trying to kill his crew like the comics version. Theyre doing 5 seasons of the Boys but with how Gen V is being weaved into the plot, it'll be like 7-8 seasons. There was things in Gen V that are either referenced in, or will be brought up in the main show.
*Spoiler* Just like how Neuman is now in possession of the Supe Virus and why Sam and Cate are at Vought. All that has an explanation and was established in Gen V.
Yeah, they're probably gonna do a couple of gen v seasons while waiting for the boys S5. I personally didn't really mind as long the main plot isn't to take down vought
I’m hoping Sage forced Hughie’s mom back into his life. Seemed too convenient that his mom, who works for Vought, shows back up. Especially since Hughie’s a major enemy to them and Homelander. Simon Pegg’s character had a stroke, being the catalyst for Hughie and his mom reuniting. I’m hoping Sage caused the stroke with a larger plan at play.
The issue isn't that the subplots are bad. It's that they don't tie into the main story from the jump. They are so boring because they don't tie into the main drama and tension of the main plot line. Homelander. What makes the politic plot line so interesting is Vicky is super dangerous and homelander is working with her to take over the government. So while she is doing politics on TV you know in the back of your head that she's an immense danger and problem. The Starlight subplot is interesting because it ties directly into a pr war with the seven and she's being used as the kindling to start a civil war. Firecracker is the perfect bait to combat Starlight and use her to further the main plot. But frenchie and hugie just dint tie in at all. They have no tie in to the story yet. And its boring because they are starting the tension and story over instead of relying on the main plot. And it's super late to introduce new plot lines that don't matter to the main plot. I think the comics are probably to blame for this at least I hope so and the writers couldn't find a way to just outright remove hugie and frenchie and kimiko so this was the best they could do. And it's a shame really. The show would be much better if they had the creative freedom to fully change or cut these plot lines into something that played into the main story
I agree with the Frenchie thing, but idk why its politics are a problem. This show has been making fun of neoliberals, conservatives, and capitalism since season 1. Season 2 had Homelander, the guy who literally wears the American flag, date an actual Nazi named Stormfront. That's not even subtext. That's just straight-up text. Its messaging has been overt since the beginning.
@@rileymachelle4088 They started to present Homelander fans as Trump fans only in season 3 near the end (and fantastically stupid) AND Homelander was not aware of Stormfront "interests" for 90% of season 2. GEN V might get treated like Fear The Walking Dead. It'll possibly continue as a separate story, having the second season between season 5 of The Boys.
I agree with your statement, but the problem is (At least with S4, we don't know what's going to happen in the later half of the season and S5) there hasn't been much mention to Gen V besides the mention of the school and the students from the school in the news report. We're halfway through this season and nothing hasn't happened that dealt with them. Hopefully soon because some of the characters are suppose to be guest characters in this season (Hopefully not because of the news report and are ACTUALLY within the show).
I know a lot of people that like Gen V even more than The Boys. It was really well made, and just felt like watching The Boys 1:1 with new characters, same top tier acting and story telling but more X-Men like. Surprised y'all are skipping it. When Homelander recruits Sage, Sage tells Homelander her plan and he mentions that’s it’s similar to how Caesar came to power, Sage says yes like Caesar. Like Caesar, Sage’s plan includes having someone close to him dealing the final blow, which I think will be Ryan. I can see Homelander now looking at Ryan and saying “You to Ryan?” before Ryan delivers the final blow.
You guys are absolutely 100% missing out on Gen V. It has all the darkness and violence that we love about The Boys with a great story and characters. Even if they don’t crossover it is worth the watch to see more of the universe.
Gen V is "The Boys for teenagers", these three simply arent the target audience of that show...I watched one episode, and left it at that, the show simply isnt for me, not everything has to be for everybody.
Sage is kind of great, someone, who's brain is constantly racing. Does extreme things to distract/de stress. But her brain heals and expands her intellect. I was confused about the red door lab. We saw his birthplace, that lab was where they tested/conditioned him. Which was also great, he is dependent on humans. But now his fear of being caged is gone.
Can’t wait for the gen v characters to cross over and since you guys refuse to watch it you will take points away because you guys don’t want to watch the show that will give needed context to the characters. yeah, that's about the only thing that make sense with this video.

It's just Colin is such an afterthought and has no place in the story.

SPOILER WARNING
4..Is just my assumption on the matter everything else is a fact.

Your explanations just make these plot elements sound more silly
You do realise there is a bunch who aren't arguing like you? Maybe don't take everything personal.
Fingers crossed it leads onto something big in the story.
Ghey injection. Totally unnecessary
Agree, it feels really forced
Butchers kicked out, then immediately let back in, MM hates his guts then is fighting to keep him on the team, same story since season 1 tbh
The whole subplot of MM kicking Butcher from the team felt like a rehash of season two when Hughie and Butcher had a falling out. The team should already know by now that while Butcher is not a likable person, he’s necessary for the team

They didn't even remember all the trauma they inflicted on him, and they're only apologizing once they're suffering consequences for it.
You arent wrong, but also they would have been murdered if they hadnt done it. That said, its hard to feel bad for them
Moral of the story: don't work for Vought
They didn't kill or molest him though. Punished? Yes. Torn limb from limb? No. The worst thing they did was put him in the oven room, which is torture no doubt, but still the punishment did not fit the crime. I almost even like it better than this current season of the main show lol
100%
Almost nobody watched it so who cares
Maybe I'll check it out, teens are usually written terribly or annoying af but if you say it's then aight
Definitely agree, gen v was damn good
didn't care about the teen drama part, but the overall story was good
Just imagine what Sage had to go through to find out her brain regenerates, making lobotoms temporary
Gen V is solid. The first episode or two are slightly rough but it's overall good. Sucks one of the main actors passed, it'll be rough.
Okay, good to know that it's worth watching
The trailers did it no favors
I like this channel. But angry Joe talks for 15 minutes. Asks the other guys for their opinion, and within 10 seconds he's talking over them, everytime! Let's the dudes talk uninterrupted for 5 minutes, like they do. Am I alone I this?
Lol no one asked.
It’s called the angry Joe show bruv
Anthony Starr deserves an Emmy. He IS Homelander. An incredible performance.
Homelander took out the security upstairs
It's not like "better security" would make a difference
so no one thought to have a high frequency sound device that is like kryptonite to supes?
I skipped Frenchie's and himiko's scenes. I just don't care. Pretty sad because I actually like their characters.
You missed out, their scenes were a huge improvement in this episode
They were interesting enough as side characters but when you focus on them, they're plain boring, just a waste of screen time at this point. Her plot armor is also getting super annoying, she's basically unkillable, just a one dimensional ass character.
Well, in The Boys comic Huey (Simon Page in the comis, father of the TV show Huey) fights Web Weaver (The Boys Spider-Man)... So I think they are going for that in some way.
Joe, Gen V is good. Not at The Boys level, but it’s definitely a must watch.
A-Train has been on the best redemption arc I've seen in LA series
Noir is a whole new character who we're most likely going to learn about later on
I mean...just watch and analyze a show that's created for that purpose and I'm sure you'd be amazed at the information you could retain.
@@empty6155 how? Deep is the same guy from the first episode. He's a moron with no backbone. That hasn't changed, he still gets verbally abused by everyone. The only person he stood up to was Ashley but she's not even a threat to him. Nobody respects him lmao. He's had no development at all.
@@empty6155 noir is dead and the new Noir is a moron lol. I think they are hinting at cloning Homelander with the pubes thing I think
@@empty6155that’s Stan’s contingency plan. Stan’s coming back watch.
HL and Butcher have carried the show since the beginning. Sadly it's all on HL now as Butcher's been neutered.
I think the Starlight thing is just because she was tunnel-visioned into a rage and MM had to bring her back by REMINDING her she's live. Just how I see it
@@MegaMoneyMaker711 No no you see characters in TV shows need to make perfectly logical decisions at all times no matter what.
Alex: "Thats Ramón"

I wonder if this episode paves the way for the Homelander countermeasure like the comics had with the insane Black Noire clone of him.
Everything worked for me except the frenchie stuff. Not sure why he keeps getting the worst side plots.
Tell me you don't pay attention without telling me you don't play attention
Butcher saved MM's life earlier this season, pretty sure thats why he changed his mind, in fact theres a whole scene of him talking to butcher about this... dont know why your trivializing it. But yes I personally hate the Frenchie story line.
@@smkeybare but didn’t MM even tell butcher “too little too late” on the last episode? I need to rewatch it again to grasp the context but I think butcher was trying to make amends and ask for help and MM kinda brushed him off
Facts Like we would have spent the whole ep going over his past life that would have been GREAT
I love Kimiko. She steals every scene without saying a word.
Homelander is gonna kill Singer after he wins the presidency and goes antisupers. Mark my words.
It was black noir's sword that homie saved, not queen Maeve's.
I think Hugie's Dad is going to wake up and be a Brainless Supe. Did the V heal his brain fully before waking up? Would it continue to heal after he's awake?
Every time I saw the frenchie romance come on my screen I skipped. I’m sorry it’s just so boring and random and not needed.
Jeffrey dean morgans character is definitely a hallucination, i rewatched the episodes with a friend of mine and noticed he’s always wearing the exact same outfit with the tie loose. Basically butcher has an angel and a demon on each shoulder when you include Becca
you two got it damn right ha.
I'm sorry WHAT? OJ is Ramon?
I didnt think starlight would be as dumb as Will Smith
I don’t understand the look of disgust on Alex’s face when Joe asked if he would watch Gen V. It’s a great spin off to an awesome show. I don’t get it.
They thought it would be cw teen drama level, which it kinda is.. Tho it's better
WATCH GEN V THERE IS A HERO THAT CAN LITERALLY REMOVE THE BLACK MASS FROM HIS BLOOD.
The Frenchy storyline is so dumb but everything else is great. I am almost at the point were I just fast forward colin/frenchy scenes.
Can't stop cringing at starlight new face
Lip filler always looks bad
@inframatic If only it was just the lipfiller...Her whole face is ruined.
The worm in butchers head might help keep him alive. It could be a symbiote like Venom or Carnage.
People are saying it was hughie because people don't think the mother exists. Saying his mother was his excuse in his mind to use the compound v. A side effect from the shit butcher gave him last season
Mothers Milks mustache coming and going really bugs me.
Yuup it's combination of random stuff scenes without any plan where and how to progress with a main plot.
Not even joking I thought I was gonna throw up at that lobotomy scene😂😭
This whole season has been a waste of time. It's clear they have run out of material and are just milking this thing. They spend way too much time on these boring pointless side stories of the main characters. Frenchie's is the worst. Three seasons without a word about it, and now he's suddenly gay. LOL. And his side story is pointless to the main story. So is Starlight's and Hugie's. Waste of time. Season 4 has no purpose at all, except to drag this thing out.
YES.
There still is about two seasons worth of comic, but the show wants to instead make it clear who they are voting for in this election 🤦
“Three season without a word about it and now he’s suddenly gay” 😂😂😂
There’s literally a scene last season of Frenchie and the Russian lady talking and she literally says how when they both had sex and she would put on a STRAP ON 😂😂😂
I’m no genius but when a man likes to be pegged he’s either gay or bi sexual 😂🤷♂️
Just say you wasn’t paying attention to the show 😂😂😂
I mean I agree that Frenchies plot is dumb and pointless ATM but he's not just suddenly gay. He's been openly bi this whole time
@@MegaMoneyMaker711 Really? Name a scene where it shows that? I mean, he's been making eyes at Kimiko for three seasons. All of sudden, that's out?
@@vinceA3748 Just read the comics dude, its not hard.
Gen V is actually good
Fr and it’s not super long
Agreed
Gen V was overall better than the last three episodes of the Boys at least.
Word.
Homelander is essentially Darth Vader at this point. When shows up somebody is either dying or gonna be mentally scarred for life.
Essentially, anything that isn't butcher or homlander is boring.
There's a split second of It in the trailer too
Spoiler from Comics...
You already know they're going to try making the coupe moment into a January 6th reference. They can't help themselves.
I saw a comment I agree with the end of the season will be homelander in the Oval Office and then the next season will be balls to the wall
You're right that the worm virus is going to either control his body or corrupt his mindset somehow. Kripke already mentioned that they're not following the clone route for Noir, and there's a theory saying that Homelander's final fate is not death, but being depowered. Interesting to say the least.
OJ actually being Ramone is essentially what The Boys is about; Seeing people when they are not your heroes xD
Not to say that OJ is a bad guy or anything lol

So Frenchie have been pounded multiple times by this guy and he never seen his scar on his ankle?? Common man

Can you imagine what would have happen if Homelander crashes in on Sage for advice right after she lobotomized herself....
Theyre doing 5 seasons of the Boys but with how Gen V is being weaved into the plot, it'll be like 7-8 seasons.
There was things in Gen V that are either referenced in, or will be brought up in the main show.
*Spoiler*
Just like how Neuman is now in possession of the Supe Virus and why Sam and Cate are at Vought.
Imagine whatever is in butcher is like a venom symbiote
Sadly, that's way too obvious and is probably what the writers are going for. Meh.
They pretty much destroyed Fenchies character PLUS now overtly attacking 60% of american's.
Agree with Frenchie, this storyline for him has been boring and uninteresting. However I enjoy the Hughie side plot and want to see where it goes. His dad has been involved since the beginning and I have a feeling it's going to go badly
Ep 4 was solid
GEN V might get treated like Fear The Walking Dead. It'll possibly continue as a separate story, having the second season between season 5 of The Boys.
They never left….? Every episode. Can’t be just crazy action and balls to the wall. Things have to be set in motion.
What if Hughie's dad becomes stronger than Homelander? After all Hughie was based on Simon Pegg.

Gen V was superb
I agree with your statement, but the problem is (At least with S4, we don't know what's going to happen in the later half of the season and S5) there hasn't been much mention to Gen V besides the mention of the school and the students from the school in the news report. We're halfway through this season and nothing hasn't happened that dealt with them. Hopefully soon because some of the characters are suppose to be guest characters in this season (Hopefully not because of the news report and are ACTUALLY within the show).
