Man tortured in north St. Louis County basement dies, wife and daughter recovering from injuries

- A 76-year-old man who relatives say was brutally tortured in the basement of his north St. Louis County home has now died. In July, police arrested the man's own son, who they say held his father captive along with his mother and sister.

It reads like the sisters knew this lowlife was living off his parents in every way,. He had no place but there in their home to stay and in this hated his sisters who wanted him out. This in trying to protect their parents from elder abuse in his anger, rage, sick mind he targeted his parents ti get back at his sisters,his parents who may have been taking their advice. So the sisters thought if anyone he would target them, nay have verbally many times voiced this with none of them thinking he would ever do this to their parents. With them it was about him having a place to stay for free , the food they provide, the heat and air and throwing his weight around like it was his house .

When I ask my holier than thou family members and friends, if they observe it too, they look at me as if I'm crazy. I think they're afraid, though. She said she tried to help her parents, maybe she did tell them it wasn't a good idea for their son to live with them. Looks like they over looked his troubled mind, and probably thought they would be safe with their daughter being there but she let her guard down. When theres issues like that in the family other children don't want to get involved. Salute to the father for his service, he survived all types of challenges and then his own son does this, he shouldn't have had to endure this type of abuse, praying for the mother and daughter to have a complete recovery.

How horrible, his own family because of an argument.
I hope his new prison family find out he did all this and guards look the other way while other inmates handle him. For 7 hours he tortured his own elderly parents in their own home he had no business as an adult being there .This was more than likely why his sisters he hated as they saw him repeatedly taking advantage of their parents. ,their home no longer being theirs ,him acting like it belonged to him.

He should be charged with 2nd degree murder, torture, elderly abuse, kidnapping, robbery and any other charges that the states attorney and prosecutors can charge him with!! And he should be given life in prison without the possibility of parole IF he lives that long in prison!! other prisoners most likely will institute their own brand of prison justice!!
I'd say aggravated 1st degree. He did this over a period of time torturing his father, beating and stabbing him in the eye. He had plenty of time for cool reflection, during which time he could have summoned EMS for help for his father and other family members. But he decided not to and continue with his serious physical abuse, which a reasonable person would know would lead to death.

There are so many people who struggle with housing for a relative released from jail or prison.
God bless the older sister who found them. That's a lot of trauma. I hope her sister and her mother heal quickly, but I know the psychological scars might be harder to heal. May God comfort them and keep them during this season of mourning.

The police was going to do what as they cannot even have put him out his parents house. It sounds like her and her sisters were trying ,which is why she thought if anyone he would have rage against them, would harm them not their parents. It is like knowing they were doing all to get him removed ,out their parents house, he targeted his parents, those he had close access to, the sister that was there who survived. Again one of the sisters lived there, he harmed her also, that was her in the hospital bed who lived with her parents,she like their mother survived this sickos attacks.

@@Imissyoulou The one on the news lives out of town, the one whom was in the house when all this happened had to be the ones he was trying to reach but she would not answer. Her of course not knowing her brother would do this but only target them not their parents. This he did to his sister who lived there, he was arguing with her, probably putting his hands on her as it was stated their mother tried to intervene, stop him. Again that sister was beaten ,tied up,also tortured. The police do not protect victims as I am sure they did everything in trying to get that demon out their parents house . Like squatter’s they cannot just remove him, and when he acts up ,has a mental crisis they can get him, wait for an ambulance to take him to the hospital. In this even if he wants to he can in a day or two refuse farther treatments and come home , refuse to take any meds they prescribed. I see this staying in the house next to mines, it is rinse and repeat, has been for years now , police lighting up the street with lights flashing, a fire truck, a ambulance or two showing up. They strap herb son to a gurney, put him in an ambulance as obviously he is again off his meds , acting up, and days later he is back . The older he has gotten now around late 40s , the more frequently this all happens and I fear for his mother’s life. He seems to be schizophrenic ,bipolar, will,at times yell at neighbors in their yards, across the street,things that make no sense. In her dealing with this and more concerning him if he does not harm her she will up under all this die of the stress of dealing with all this as a few times a ambulance have shown up for her during one of his crisis,. Again I am not exaggerating he lights this street up with car after cars of police officers, a fire truck Ambulances, with flashing lights on the regular .
