Bro you did a great job explaining to folks the difference with the peddle drives and motors. I switched to the Nucanoe Unlimited for the same reason. In Maryland we have a lot of thick grass and a peddle drive is useless out here after mid June. I agree that xi3 offshore is a monster. You just have so many ways you can fish from that platform it's ridiculous. The torqueedo's and NK motors are great for fast shallow rivers but they struggle when you need to hold a spot and fish. The xi3 has some limitations in fast moving river current and shallow stumpy or rocky places. But that's when you break out your paddle cause the Unlimited can draft in 2 inches of water.
Thanks for the honest review of the Titan. I've owned a 12 and agree that the tracking of the Native is difficult at best. Can't wait to see what you decide to go with.
Totally agree with the tracking, the spring blade rudder makes a huge difference but it still isn't a champion at tracking. My other issue is the water on the deck it seems to be impossible to have dry footing.
Good review, those are a lot of the reasons I didn’t go with native. I got the girlfriend and I some Nucanoe unlimiteds and she got us the peddle drives. I found the stability of them to be some of the best. Still haven’t tried a hobie, but I also don’t need that temptation.
Great video! Thank you! I recently purchased a Pelican PWR100 and the seat was so low my experience has not been good. Is the seat elevated to a good height? Thanks
Have you had any water on deck issues? I got the NK180 and Boondocks rudder upgrade at the same time. Since, Ive had a lot of water coming up through the rudder shaft.
@RCO Fishing nice, thanks for sharing. I just bought the slayer max 12.5 and love it so far. I was really torn between that and a bonafide ss127 but I was leaning towards the pedal drive for tournaments that don't allow motors. Can't wait to see what you got in to!
Have the 2021 12.5 max slayer and tracking is laughable. Take hands off rudder and risk looking drunk. Modified with new rudder and IS better but $$$. Propel drive fantastic. Stability is excellent.
In my opinion this isn’t a review at all. Your also in the extreme minority complaining about a native kayak. I think you being a little bit of a baby. Yesterday after work I went out and hooked into a 19 1/4 as I’m fighting the wind and the fish pulling me into the shoreline where there’s a tree lay down that’s about to break my rods until I grab my paddle and push off the tree and net the fish. That’s what kayak bass fishing is! That’s how I like it. It’s a challenge. It’s a more extreme way of bass fishing. If you wanna spend 10k on a setup and make everything perfect for yourself then that’s your business but it’s like you care more about your gear and setup then fishing. But your the guy who spends $60 bucks on the kayak cushion instead of going to autozone or Walmart and getting the exact same thing for $15. Motors on kayaks. Yuk!!
I definitely see where you coming from. Like I said it’s my opinion and what works for me. If you don’t want to run a motor then absolutely go with a Titan or a hobie. For me having the open deck space and being more hands free is priceless and when you go non pedal drive you save so much on the kayak that you can get into it with an xi3 and battery for not much more than a titan 12 and way less than a hobie. I like to stand and fish and it’s kind of hard to do while battling wind and current. As far as the kushions go they sponsor our local tournament clubs so I don’t mind spending a little extra to help support companies that support us and what we do.
Classy criticism. Classy response. Enjoy the sport gentlemen and great to see we can still criticize each other and not get butthurt. Have a blessed day and tight lines.

It’s a great kayak until you are faced with wind and current.

So true. I don’t get the idea of these people with 360 drive yet have a motorguide.

Don’t they make a drop in motor that goes into the hole instead of the pedals
Looking forward to the release of the 10.5 Titan X at the end of this month! Beware: the x3 has NO kill function!
What kayak are you leaning towards?
If everything works out I’ll have a video out Monday and a big announcement
