The 12 y/o version of me played this game so extensively, so obsessively, so insanely and memorized all the spots that Sonic would collide into and break the physics. It's crazy how indifferent I was to these imperfections as a kid. I still feel like this game had the most freedom in movement of all the 3D Sonic games. Half the fun was having to steer Sonic in such a particular way to avoid colliding with walls or falling into pits. Now, modern Sonic games have become so linear and bland in design as a result of Sonic Team overcorrecting from harsh criticisms from the past. Also the Dreamcast version of this game most definitely had gunshot noises in the beginning cutscene. lol

Adventure 1 had no bugs? Come on, it's a 3D game from the 90's, it has plenty of bugs. It's in my top 3 favorite games ever, but the original has its fair share of bugs too.
@@ilikepie19921 the original on Dreamcast? No game breaking bugs no, even the one in emerald coast where you clip through the loops doesn't exist
Sorry to say but I absolutely fell through level geometry and got flung in random directions when playing this game on DC back in the day. Maybe not that point specifically, but for sure in the first level and final egg. Still love the game, still better than the port, but it sadly wasn't devoid of bugs.
@@Atolm4I agree, but the dreamcast version is genuinely much better than the port. Not flawless but feels damn near it in comparison.
@@Atolm4 Yea that's the way I view it. It has bugs, but you could say the same about any 3D platformer at the time.
Sonic adventure still has some of the best 3D Sonic levels to this day. I love the momentum system in this game
Also the Dreamcast version of this game most definitely had gunshot noises in the beginning cutscene. lol
Sonic adventures OST has that old school japanese vibes to it. I love it.
Holds up incredibly well till this day!
Dunkey showcasing the old speedrunning adage
"walls are a suggestion"
Those songs man... Made me buy an mp3 player.
I had a pc version and i searched for them in the files so that I could play them. And I did. And it was the best thing in the world. I felt like a higher being
Ive constantly revisited this game over the years, its been one of my favorite games from my childhood. I never once noticed the pause menu was 'adventure pause'
Now I'm just anxiously awaiting the first 4d sonic game!
The game really makes you feel like sonic
and Knuckles and Tails and Amy Rose and Big the Cat and E-102”γ”
Honestly adventure 1 is almost a perfect translation from the 2d levels of classic sonic and i love them

Finally, Dunkey dropped a video about newest Sonic game ever 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
the greatest game in history
facts
The lesson I remember most from Sonic Adventures 1 and 2 is that sometimes it's OK... to Live and Learn.
This video is just an excuse for dunkey to listen to sonic adventures amazing music without admitting he likes it
I mean, it IS better than Mario 64, even kid me could see that ;)

dunkey playing sonic adventure the DX version is kinda beating a dead horse atp
I’d like to see an actual dunkview on this game.
I loved this game on my dreamcast and will probably never feel like I did the day I first played it. I remember running into my sisters room to tell her about the chaos. It was simplistically beautiful.
3:36 is Parappa the Rappers voice actor. You learned something today huh
The rapper for SA1's Unknown By M.E. is Dred Foxx, who indeed voiced Parappa the Rappa. He later scammed some teenage fans and threatened to come fight them, ruining his reputation.
The performer for SA2's version and all Knuckles stage theme raps, Hunnid P, later threw a shitfit and claimed Sega didn't properly compensate him. He consequently fought with fans. Ask him a question and he blocked you in a second.
The singing vocalist in both games is Marlon Saunders, who also worked in NiGHTS Into Dreams and Burning Rangers. I haven't heard anything bad related to him, fortunately.
Haven't watched it yet. CLASSIC
I grew up with Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast, still one of the best Sonic game ever
My childhood is straight up just this game, and I have no regrets about that.
I hate how the DX port screwed the reputation of Sonic Adventure.
2010s TH-camrs somehow convincing everyone that SA1 and 2 were bad the whole time
This game really makes you FEEL like a hedgehog!
It makes you feel like an Adventure.
The research put into these videos is very thorough.
I played this on the game cube. Loved it. Got it on the 360 loved it. Bought it one last time on steam. Love it. Modded it on my steamdeck to fix everything from the DX game
This game is 10/10 purely because of the ✨adventure pause✨
“Lower score than Balan Wonderworld” Ok in other news every game ever has a lower score than that game, #1 ever made
IGN gave God Hand a lower score than Balan Wonderworld
Well it is the DX port after all and that port of the game sucks
"unlike Sonic, I don't chuckle" (heh heh)
"Id rather flex my muscles"
I won't have Unknown From M.E. slander in this house.
