  • this is my first winter truck camping video, however I am not new to truck camping/ and van life. I have decided to get rid of the bed platform and just go with a no build set up to show people you don't need to build out the back of your truck to camp in it, making it not great to haul stuff in like trucks were built to do. I am still ringing out a few issues with the set up but hope to get some feedback from you all!!!

    Many b u i l d always windows that open with screens and one or two fans. A lifesaver. Bubble foil wrap or carpet backing or both for insulation. Like your simplicity, always the most fun.

    I just subscribed ! I can't wait to do something like this on my channel. I just purchased the bestop softtopper for my 2018 Silverado. I'm struggling with going build or no build. Might go semi build. Lol. Love the camp content. I'm doing my channel so my grandkids will see how adventurous

      @@OTFAdventures yes I understand that, after I get done with my son today I'll look for that chair I'm talking about it folds down small has shorter legs, and sits up better. It's for backpacking and they do have chairs that cost more than $100. Sometimes $200. But the one I found was cheap and the reviews were good, I'll look for it and let you know the name so you can check it out.

      Used one of those for a while on my 2006 3/4 ton duramax,(no longer have that truck) i liked it, took a big trip out west and came up with a way to just partially break it down and roll my bed cover over it until the next camp spot.

    I was like where's he gonna sleep? lol 😆. Cool, simple video. I use cots with the boys. Got wood ta build a solid frame. But I'm like I'd rather go camping then build something forever. We've camped 11 times since late summer! The topper cost me 200 bucks and I drove a bit for the 8 ftr.

      @D.A. Off the Farm ya I got 2 boys and a dog we all sleep in the topper. It's a lot a fun! I don't have an extended cab. So not tons of room but it's nice I want a beach chair like that. Glad to find your channel!

      @DOD9113  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I have got a few different cots to try off marketplace but alot of them have legs in the middle that hit my wheel well, and the biggest problem is I need a cot under 70 inches to fit in my box... I finally found a company that it pretty legit I think. Gotta wait to get the cot, but will definitely go over it in an upcoming video.

    Cool video, no builds interest me more than over the top set ups. I use my SUV for work as a cable guy so my setup can't be permanent either and takes alotta work to get everything out than stuff in. But totally worth it eh 🍁 Looking forward to more, subscribed.

    • @DOD9113
      @DOD9113  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Even with no build set ups you still have to take stuff in and out but you can fold it up and put it in the garage etc. My bed platform I had weight like 100lbs and took up way to much space in the garage, hard on the back taking in and out, new vid coming soon.

    There are pro and con to both a built and a no built. Not every built is useful. It depends on your application and needs. When you have a well built, you can better organize with minimal time for setting up and carry more of camping gears especially you can have them secured in shelves or drawers. I decided to build because I had camping gears flying all over the place when I got to the campsite. Anyhow, I am almost done with my built.
