    Where would I get a copy of that tidal stream atlas? New to spearing, around the rame peninsula area. I Always seem to pick the days when the tidal stream is strong!

      Hi I'm sure if you looked on the internet it would come up on amazon or something like that. If you go during spring tides then the current will be stronger so I check that first then the book helps me to chose location, just to make it easier to spearfish.

    Great videos mate. Shame about the SCUBA divers tho. They shouldn't be fishing and diving at the same time. Its like shooting fish in a barrel

      Cheers Floody, scuba divers collecting sea food doesn't bother me to be honest (As long as they are not being excessively greedy)! It is common place throughout the UK, nothing illegal and a lot less damaging than commercial methods.

    Is it legal to spearfish on scuba in the UK?

      I think the E.U. has just banned scuba spearfishing a few months ago. Some scuba divers do take a crab hook with a spike at the other end for catching things!

      Nope it ain’t. Along with spearing at night. If they were caught they would have been heavily fined and or have their gear taken from them. It’s also a wanker move

    cleaning the fish remove the gills? they are full of microbes

    • @ryane8881
      @ryane8881  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I often do on big fish, that fish was eaten that night so the gills weren't a problem

    Nice videos mate. Are you diving with a 7mm out there ?

    • @ryane8881
      @ryane8881  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, no I dive in a 5mm suit, water temp is normally between 12ºC to 18ºC

      Ok cool and you cope easily with the 5 ? Will you dive during winter ?

      @@Todium yep I do ok with the 5mm suit, I have a lot of natural insulation from eating too much over winter! I don't dive over winter, I start in late May and stop in early November. The weather here in winter can be terrible.

      Hah nice ! I'm from a tropical Island and I am very skeptical to be honest of going into waters under 20C* but ppl say with the 7mm its fine... lol

    • @ryane8881
      @ryane8881  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds awesome, if you do dive in the UK or similar go for a 7mm and you'll be nice and warm.
