I too am a big fan of the Pacific and because of it I not only learned, but right after finishing the show read E.B Sledges book 'With the Old Breed'. The show did some research I'll say that. I recognized some scenes from the show by the way he described them in the book.
100%. I enjoyed seeing the Band of Brothers TV adaptation give proper coverage of the related books. It is nice to be able to read the scenes with more depth and context
