I remember when and where I was when I had heard that Notch had sold Minecraft...my heart shattered...we weren't tied to the man that took in our suggestions and listened to his community...he understood us..and we understood him... after Notch sold Minecraft... things just weren't the same...when Notch sold Minecraft and left...he took a little of the old Minecraft that we all know and love with him.

This is sad but one thing that really bothers me is the fact that mojang removes all references of notch from Minecraft, literally like a spiteful parent with custody would do to their kid, I think that’s what makes this one so accurate.

Nah, Microsoft and Notch have different goals. The former is to maximize profits and appease ESG / WEF corporate overlords while the other is to simply create a sandbox for to do use as a outlet for creativity.

Notch was an average coder with a smaller sized team so probably not. It would have been much better if the game was completely abandoned and made open source since the updates have nothing to do with Minecraft's reinsurgence in popularity. It was PewDiePie, Dream, and mods like Create that brought it back.
