about the rehearsing thing, before any performance they do prepare and rehearse multiple times even if they did perform the song hundred times before. because stages are different in sizes and shapes and they do cooperate additional moves/different song ver or something sometimes. if you noticed, the stage here is in the center (360 audience) and they switched where they're facing a couple of times so this has to be planned and practices. This is what I know ^^ That is why the boys' performances are always great, hard-work💜

also to answer your question about how much they practice for performances, an average work day for them even without preparing to perform somewhere is everyday for about 12-14 hours, even longer. they don’t get enough sleep either and it’s sad. it’s not rlly their choice either, being a kpop idol is really hard, and as much as they and other people make it seem so cool it’s really sad and tiring and has a huge dark side to it. and for y’all who say, “no they can do whatever they want. they’re grown adults and BigHit doesn’t force them to do anything.” well bighit does seem cool and nice on camera but no one knows what off camera . and my point makes sense because how do you think they’re so perfect during performances? they’re forced to be perfectionists, that’s why when they mess up, they get rlly sad and upset because they’re used to perfecting everything. it’s really sad, you can search up on it, also you should watch Burn The Stage, it talks about stuff behind the camera and what actually goes on in their lives, it’s sad but it’s really good and in a way is kind of comforting...

Both the 2017 MAMA performance & the 2018 Japan MAMA performance please know that you only saw half of the performance for each year! The MMA performance you saw the full performance in one vid because it was recorded from a live stream! The MAMA awards 2017 actually had a beginning awesome Intro, "Not Today"' "DNA", "Cypher Pt.4" then "Mic Drop". The performance was continual and lasted over 20 min.! The 2018 MAMA in Japan first started with an awesome Intro, "Fake Love" (rock version remix), then the second half what you saw! You missed the first half because it was split up into two vids! BTS also performed at 2018 MAMA in Hong Kong! That was equally awesome performance you should check out! Also split into two separate vids! You need to see both vids to see the full performance!!!

anpanman actually started off as a japanese picture book! Like OP said, he flies around looking for hungry people in need and he gives them part of his head to eat. He slowly gives himself away to help others. Then at the end of the day he flies back to the baker who bakes him a new head, so he can find new people to help tomorrow.
This picture book became massively successful and was turned into an anime (which I grew up on!). It was exported to Korea and China where it was also a massive hit! BTS themselves probably grew up watching it!
They rehearse before concerts and performances. They are all perfectionist to the point that they spend hours especially to their solo performances. They were praised by the directors because they make their live stages easy to do since the members put their thoughts on what they want to happen, even the camera work is considered.

Anpanman is a japanese cartoon superhero. From what I gather it's a kids show and kinda funny cuz he has no real superpowers but his head is made of bread and he gives it to people to help them. The song is BTS' way of saying that although they don't have superpowers, they'll still do their best to help people and are ready to give parts of themselves too if it will make others feel better.
