I had to go out and get bigger pliers. I got 12" adjustable grips, but honestly wish I would've went larger. Adjust the wrench so you can easily wrap your fingers around both of the handles. Also pay attention to where you grip the spring wire and where its gripped in the pliers. It's easier to bend the springs as you move further away from the bend, and always grip the wire as close to the fulcrum in the wrench as possible. You'll find the springs get harder to adjust as you move along the length of the spring - this means its working.
WHAT! that's just too easy, you didn't bring out the grinder, hammer, saw, or welder. Just kidding, I will try this on a buddy's sofa and thank you for the info.
You can run electric wire through the springs as well to reinforce. Weave it through. Anything will work. I’d prob go with 12 gauge wire. Even old lamp cord should work
My springs are much harder to just squeeze tighter...My shoulders, wrist and hand hurt after attempting to do mine lastnight...I think I need a plan B😒
I tried it and still no difference. My springs were not flappy like these tho. Got way too soft over the years. A new one is 8,000 like the one I have now.
YES 100%! this is a long term solution, i advise anybody to do this mabye every few years on all their springs just to keep them as tight as they were when brand new 👍
I bought a sectional couch on clearance and of course my kids managed to loosen the springs from jumping on it lol. Anyway, This fixed it. Thanks man
Why didn't I think of this? So simple. So effective.

so far it seems like it works👍👍
Well it worked. Thanks!
Brilliant! Now to test the theory on my beloved old sofa. All digits crossed.
My mom needs hers fixed! I'm gonna try it
How did it go?
Hi I wondered how long this lasted before they went limp again . I ask as it’s my understanding that a stretched spring will loose it’s strength

WOW! Does this fix last though or is it metal fatigue which means it will sag again?
could wrap something around them to hold the new form, maybe use string to tie hem to the ones next to them.

Quiero pintar una pared, osea tiro el balde de pintura directo a la pared y por arte de magia, queda pintado con buen acabado
Simple Fix...thanks. Question, is this a long term solution? Meaning will this likely happen again in a few months or so??

@@thediyman1338 much appreciated!!
@@L.I.2RVA Glad i could help!
There is a wire that goes across every 6 in and ties everything together as one solid piece, you're missing them
Excruciatingly terribly horrifyingly atrocious choice of music.
That music is ungodly. I had to turn the volume off to finish the video.
How could you have chosen so horribly??
What about couches that don’t have removable cushions
Bike old tube can use instead of spring
😮😮🥹🥰👏👏💯🎶greatest simple effective thank you so so much 🥳😁😁
How do you do that without taking your couch apart?
The video showed you exactly what to do, and you want a an easier way ? 🙄
I think it was from the bottom. I will have to take off the bottom fabric that is stapled on to do this.
@@jenkies2022yes exactly. You pull out a handful of staples, do your thing, staple felt back on….
I will try it. If it works... 🤯
