Many followers of Jesus, as they read the Bible from the beginning, stumble across passages that talk about the utter destruction of various cities during the conquest of Canaan. This leads us to wonder, why would God command this? Is the God of the Old Testament different than the God of the New Testament? Some have even walked away from their faith due to, on the surface, deeply disturbing descriptions of war in Scripture. This week, we tackle the question “was the conquest of Canaan just?”
