      The western politics is crippled. All the politicians are after the votes. Hold out long enough in the office and there are big fat pensions waiting for them. You can yell, shout all you want, but you cannot touch them, because you have everything to lose; your house, cars, job, wife, children, vacations, mortgage, etc. After they get out of the office, there will be custom built mansion in Panama wating for them, and cashing out their big fat pension every month to support their lavish lifestyle, all provided by you the tax payers.

He does plenty of yammering about Axe the Tax but he doesn't say where my carbon tax refund will be going. It will be taken out of my pocket, leaving me with less money. That's bad for me. "Build the Houses." Who's houses? Rich or affordable? Will he be building affordable with the homeless situation being as dire as it is. As a voter, I still have no clue what his platform is because all I've heard are American style attacks and other slogans and bs. Not voting for a liar. I mean Polievre is nothing more than a mouth on legs, all blah blah blah but nothing he can really accomplish. Like Jason Kenny, Polievre just loves to hear his own voice.
      He smacks of Trump with the name calling and US style attack-politics, is that really what we want in Canada? Aren't we smarter than that?
      We need harmony and consistency, and we need to stay on track with our fair share of environmental reform. We are slowly but surely killing ourselves and doing very little about it because it costs money. We all have to just suck things up and go through some hard times for a few generations to get our environmental impact reined in. Stop complaining about the financial impacts of environmental protection policies like carbon taxes. It's really short term thinking, you can't breathe, drink, or eat money.

      Coalitions almost always mean more voters had a say in the government than any other normal scenario, barring a single party super majority. In multiparty FPTP systems, Typically governments are formed with just 30-40% of the vote. During this coalition 50% of Canada voted for these two parties, 32% Libs, 18% NDP, vs 34% for Cons.

      "Coalition should not be allowed in a democracy government" only if you want to be ruled by minority's, i dont want that.
      some EU nations that have much better government than we do have 6+ party's in parliament, and none of them ever get more than 25% of the vote, coalitions keep single party's in check.
      i kinda DREAD pp getting in power with a supper majority and cutting all health care funding, or stopping all environmental mitigation, or declaring the earth flat like a couple of his party members seem to believe. although that last one would be the least damaging and kind of funny if disparaging.

    • @BM1982.V2
      @BM1982.V2 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most of the good long lasting policies in this country came from minority coalitions. We only have healthcare because of a coalition, we only have a pension plan because of a coalition, and we got petro canada from a coalition that almost gave us what Norway got with their oil industry. They have $1.5 trillion dollars right now saved up because they took ownership of their oil industry. Petro Canada could have given us the same had it not been sold off.
      We also are getting dental care now because of this coalition but I agree that the liberals need to go. But countries that have PR which means more coalition governments tend to have policy that more of the country agrees with. With our fptp we rarely have coalitions but what we do see is more wild swings of policy between one government and the next. Countries with PR tend to have a more steady trajectory without the wild back and forth swings. And I think it's criminal that any party can gain 100% control when only getting 38% of the vote. That is what should be outlawed in a democracy because that is not democratic. If a party can get 50% +1 then sure they can take full control but that's not what we get, we consistently get a party with less than 40% taking control.

    Today, Jagmeet Singh made headlines by taking steps to break the NDP’s deal with the Liberals. However, a true vote on the matter seems unlikely. This move appears to be more about optics, with probably fewer than five underperforming NDP members expected to shift, while the rest will continue to support the Liberals. Strategically, it’s a smart play, likely aimed at positioning the NDP Party to become the official opposition. However, current polls suggest that the Bloc Québécois may take on that role instead.
