Total wars next historic game needs to be a gun focused game. I think American civil war, With other civil wars around the world as other nations and factions. And total war needs to focus on finding a good system to have loose infantry. for future use. But American Civil war generals where basically game characters in real life, so could do some pretty dope things. Think outside the box but try to keep the leader skills for warhammer. I think Civil war or just skip to WW1 but WW1 will need a complete rework while Civil war is basically the last war where line battles happened, I mean trench warfare happened by the end of it. And since warhammer is over Do whatever you can to get the rights to star wars. We NEED a star wars strategy game badly. And It could be basically 1 to 1 with warhammer just replace magic with the force. And don't be afraid to make up cannon, disney has no issues breaking cannon. Have a surviving drone faction and a loyal clone faction with empire and rebels. Honestly each alien race can be fleshed out with unit armies and units. I personally think total war needs to focus on history 1st, Basically to save it.
No. You are absolutely right! I am surprised in the 15 years that Napoleon and Empire total war has been out. The fact they haven't done a 2nd version is incredible to me. Instead they give us dreary crap like Pharaoh Total War. Not saying the Bronze age is boring, it isn't. But on the warfare side it is. Bronze age warfare was all about the Chariot and spearmen. Archers were rare, since the bronze or copper tip they fired was precious (bronze obviously was in short supply, since most of the famous cultures did not possess alot of tin). Cavalry, the horses were not strong enough to support one rider, so that didnt really exist till the Iron Age. Even a third edition to Medieval Total War. That would be soo fun to have knight combat again, but with modern Total War features to battles. Creative Assembly has soo much they could do in terms of sequels to old games, but they choose to make crap.
