Abstract:
Background: ConclusionFibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder characterized by diffuse musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance and cognitive impairment.
Objective: A significant number of fibromyalgia patients do not respond adequately to the current drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for fibromyalgia treatment including pregabalin, milnacipran, duloxetine. Thus, there is still a need for adjunctive therapies.
Method: Naltrexone is an opioid receptor antagonist used to treat alcohol and opioid dependence. It is hypothesized that low dose naltrexone causes transient blockade of opioid receptors centrally resulting in a rebound of endorphin function which may attenuate pain in fibromyalgia.
Results: Two small prospective pilot studies have previously shown that treatment with low dose naltrexone may be an effective, safe, and inexpensive treatment for fibromyalgia.
Conclusion: This prospective study lends further support to the preliminary body of evidence that naltrexone is a well tolerated and likely effective treatment option in the community setting. Further large prospective controlled trials are still needed. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
Nobody with fibromyalgia should even try the other meds anymore. This dr. is a wise man.
I’m on it since October 2018 en would not want to do without it!
All the other meds like Lyrica etc. just made life worse.

Can LDN be taken successfully with alprazolam when on long term?
Yes but try to get off the Xanax. Or switch to a longer acting benzo.

I have been on short acting for over 20 yrs. And pretty much have tried longer acting but feel ill when switching so kinda stuck there. Can you take cbd products with LDN with other med? In addition I have pots dysonomia, and small fiber neuropathy...a problem feel sick daily flip flops with the pots, former athlete...you would not know it now..heat intolerance exersize intolerant crash after anything I overdue physically..
Any other suggestions starting LDN in a few days at .5 mg hope I do not react as first time I took it had a pretty severe tachycardia episode..was very very scary...

I have beem on .5 then 1.5mg and i am in a world of inflammed pain. I am havibg severe cramping in feet toes, muscle body jerks, headaches, eye burning pain and severe chezt and upper back pain thst feels like heart or lungs. Im shattered i was hoping this was the med that would give me better quality of life amd hearing so much positive stories i had high hopes. I have no idea what to do. Im in so much pain and fainted this weak also at work. Any advice. I was going to tip the 1.5 capsule into water and draw just 1ml and try that so go lower again
Try going back down in your dose. With ldn lower is sometimes better. Take your dose back down and see if that helps. Maybe even lower than the .5 if needed.
It's so unique to each person. I take 4.5mg at night but felt my pain coming back by mid morning. My Dr advised I try another 1.5 or 3 mg in the morning. And THAT did it! 2 doses controlled my pain all day! It's a miracle and I'm simply ecstatic 🎉 All the best to you! There are plenty of Facebook groups you can join to learn how other people are getting success. Lots of diagnoses and experiences there...

Yes! FDA is nowhere near any independent agency. Been long time since "Approved by FDA" means literally nothing to me.
