Because of you, I left my hometown and moved across the state to attend College for horticulture. My first essay topic was "who inspired you?" I of course wrote my essay about you and how you inspire not only me, but MANY. Got a 100% A. Thank you so much for starting this channel, sharing your passion over the years and helping others find love for gardening and growing food! In finding my passion, I've been blessed to grow in my faith and attain much needed sobriety. So, seriously, thank you for all you do!

2021 was a very difficult year. Our 11 year old son passed away on February 15th. Our lives were shattered. I was depressed and living & breathing was difficult. I came across Laura’s channel one day and was amazed by her gardens. I always loved gardening but never paid attention to the plant requirements. I started a memorial garden for my son Haiden last year in October. Cleared out a space that only had 3 fruit trees. My sister had a tiller machine. I sketched a layout I wanted on paper & used a garden hose to define my garden bed. From there I tilled the soil, added in mushroom compost and soil conditioner I found at Home Depot. I ordered about a hundred plants from a nursery which they delivered to me. Then I saw Laura’s video on bulbs and ordered them from Color’s blends as well for a few hundred daffodils of different varieties, Spanish bluebells, snowflakes, hyacinths, crocus, tulips. I’m in zone 8A so I had to pre chilled a lot of my bulbs that required the cold treatment. Working in my son’s memorial garden was therapeutic but also very emotional. This spring I had a very beautiful showing of flowers. I also started lots of seeds indoors in the winter when I saw another one of her videos & planted them out in the spring. His garden is beautiful. Our lives will never be the same again w/o our son’s physical presence & this journey is difficult but his garden is helping me with some kind of healing process. Now we have a lot of pollinators, butterflies, birds, hummingbird and even the red Cardinal coming to his garden. I feel his presence when I’m in his garden. It’s his way of telling me he’s always near me. Thank you Laura for inspiring me to work in the garden again when I lost hope in living. I’ve expanded the garden to include a cut flower area so I can have fresh bouquets in the house and also created raised beds to growing fruits and vegetables. Your channel has helped me with my grief. It’s still a journey and always will be. Blessings 🙏🏼

I’m so thankful I found this channel this year. I lost my passion for gardening after my husband was diagnosed with cancer, 2 years in a row, I’m so blessed that we have great Drs who saved his life. I had to let my gardens go to take care of him and everything else besides treatment. I found Garden Answers late spring and it has fired me up to start planting and taking care of my plants again, they’ve suffered badly.

Gardening is so therapeutic to me. Yes, it is hard work but there is a peace about it. Your labor always seems to pay off. Yet the best part for me is, I take this time for me! I call it my "God and me time"! I enjoy the planting and watching the maturity of the plants, enjoying every gorgeous live bloom! Most of all, I spend this time working in my garden talking to God! Prayer is a wonderful thing, but my personal relationship with God Almighty has grown tremendously through my alone time in my garden just talking with him. It's wonderful to hear you have gained back your passion for gardening. I will pray for your husbands healing and for the strength you need in your life to take care of him, physically and mentally.
      May God bless you both.

I'm in the process right now of revitalizing my long garden bed along our backyard driveway parking pad... weeding and pulling out plants that just aren't performing well, cutting back dead wood on a neglected shrub rose (I haven't been able to do this in the last 8 years, because of fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome). But last summer I started container gardening with vegetables on our deck, (I still plant flowers in containers too), and the activity keeps me moving and helps keep me flexible. If course there are bad days (flare ups) where I can't get the things done in my gardening that I want to. But this year I've seen some improvement physically, and I'm so glad I started on the big long flower bed. I added some strawberry plants in this border/bed, and have tucked some edibles (cherry tomatoes, pepper plants and just recently a zucchini and a yellow squash). I've loosened the soil (not with a tiller, but a tool that has times and you twist it and it loosens the soil, and is great for pulling up new areas that were overgrown with crabgrass and weeds). I've also been adding amendments like mushroom compost and coffee grounds, blood meal, and topsoil to replenish depleted soil. I'm not done yet, it's been a summer long process, of getting out there and some days being able to get a lot done, and other days very little accomplished. But I divided some Mt. Hood daffodils and moved the extra bulbs near the strawberries. I added two blue balloon flowers next to a yellow daylily. And I've accidentally dug up some hyacinth bulbs, and replanted them too. I now look at this flower bed and imagine what I can plant to fill in the gaps where I've cleared. I do have some tulip bulbs in there, but not enough. My Pink Impression tulips we're planted many years ago, and there's a few other tulips that have been choked out by weeds, etc. With the soil amendments I've made, I'm excited about planting some Spring bulbs to fill in the empty gaps, and to have that beautiful view from my kitchen door when I look out at this flower bed! Love Colorblends bulbs, have gazed at their selections online for years! (Got my sister hooked on Colorblends bulbs too, she loves loves their selections). So count me in for this chance to win 100 bulbs from Colorblends bulbs!! Thanks for sharing this offer from them. They're the BEST!

Having lived all my life in Hawaii, this was the first year I have ever experienced a "Spring" season, any season for that matter. (We had a beautiful year-round tropical climate, no seasons) I just moved to Washington a year ago and as I drove around and watched flowers blooming and leaves turning color all over the place. it was amazing and confusing to me at the same time. I searched the internet and you-tube to learn as much as I could. I was always a step behind. But thankfully, once I found Garden Answer, my entire world shifted. Thanks to your wisdom and sharing, Laura, I have the beginnings of a plan in motion for the upcoming year. Got a few bulbs ordered to be sure I don't totally miss my window, YAY! I've managed to watch approximately 4 past seasons, starting from your first video. I'd probably be further, but every time I watch your daily vlog release (morning coffee ritual) or a past video I have to run out to a garden center, uproot some of the previous owners landscape and/or plant something!!! Thank you for giving me the courage to tear out a lot of the old (probably original owners 60 year old landscape) and make it my own. First time in 50 years I feel like I've done something solely for me. ***mom of 4 fantastic now adult kids and wife of an engineer (aka.... "landscape and gardening? but why?" buildings and tools are all that makes sense.) Mahalo nui Loa Laura and Aaron for your ongoing education and inspiration. I need it.

Your comment speaks to me. I, too, am a special needs mom. Gardening was my passion before I had my son, but I lost it after he was born and got caught up in the endless doctors' appts and exhaustion it all brought. I found Laura one day by chance and have been hooked ever since. She has helped me to reignite my passion and get the much needed therapy that working in the garden brings me. I really don't think she knows how she has touched our lives in so many different ways, bringing each of us that little something we need at this very moment. Hey ladies! I am also a special needs mom who is hooked on Garden Answer. I come from a long line of gardeners but struggled to find my own green thumb. In fact, I was a serial killer when it came to plants for a long time. I almost gave up but a friend of mine gave me a houseplant for Christmas years ago that I named Matilda because it meant mighty in battle (or something like that). I figured she needed a strong moniker if she was going to make it in my house. My husband nicknamed her Ma-killed-da. Ha! But somehow Matilda survived. I found Garden Answer and began my planting journey. Usually, I try to get up early and tend to the garden before my son is awake. It is quiet time for me and a relaxing way to start my day. Jacob will help me sometimes but only when/if the weather is perfect. Only if we all had that luxury.

I can only do that because of all I’ve learned from you over the last three years about various flowers and other plants. I love being outside with plants and all their beauty. My father was an avid gardener too, and all four of us kids have beautiful edible gardens because of him. We didn’t enjoy gardening as kids, but we all love it as adults. The house is great, but the potential this land had is what sold me. It’s been a crazy few years developing this blank slate, but I love every minute of it. You never fail to inspire me to keep working on it. That being said, a lot my size totally swallows stuff up so 100 bulbs would be really helpful! 😃

In my late sixties, as my daughter was finishing her college years I discovered Garden Answer. It was right around the time Laura and Aaron moved to this new property. After years as a single parent I knew my daughter (who was married, husband was in the military living away from her the entire 4 years of college but would visit) would be on her way to join him and I needed to renew my own personal goals. How more perfect could it have been to renew my love of gardening through Garden Answer! I garden on a small scale and it has been and continues to be the focus of my life. I am less mobile these days but I have the tools and knowledge I need through my viewing of Garden Answer. I’m so grateful as I imagine it would be somewhat difficult to simply be on my own these days. I have tea and coffee with Laura and Aaron. I look forward to relaxing and instructive viewings and the fun of Laura sharing her family members-ESPECIALLY her Mother, whom I adore. Thank You Guys for everything!!

Laura and Aaron, thank you for all the time and inspiration you put into all your videos. Every morning I can't wait to grab a cup of coffee, sit out on the patio and watch your videos. And your kids are adorable! I retired this year from having a preschool and daycare in my home for 33 years, so the yard is getting a big transformation. My husband says thank you Garden Answer every time he has to build me something or haul dirt. 😂 The Greenhouse is going up this week. But I did notice my husband is enjoying all the pretty plants and produce from the garden. I have not planted too many bulbs over the years, so I'm looking forward to having some early spring color. Your place is absolutely stunning and it makes me excited to keep planting. I hope to drop into your parents Garden Center one day. God Bless!

I love your videos! I live in northern Utah and I have a west facing front garden East racing back garden this last year we lost all of our grass in the backyard. But all of our plants and flowers look wonderful. We've decided to do several large garden areas with lots of different drought loving plants, trees, and put in turf and Rock. I desperately need bulbs for spring color.
I have a lot of late blooming perennial.

Hi Laura! I discovered your channel about 1.5-2 years ago and have since fallen in love with gardening. As a nurse of 15 years, I often need a space to decompress and a place I can escape to in order to take care of myself. The garden has become that space and has been a sort of therapy for me. About 10 months ago I also lost my best friend of 34 years after the birth of her 3rd baby girl due to an infection in her brain. I’ve needed my garden therapy more than ever as a space to heal and reflect. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love of all things gardening. It’s because of you I have learned to slow down and appreciate all the beautiful things in our harsh world.

Some of my best childhood memories are running through the fields full of bluebells and daffodils. We used to go and visit the cave where the fairies lived and there was, and still is, daffodils all over making it look magical. I live in Florida now and I'm learning which bulbs can be planted in the South. Thank you for all the beautiful inspiration!

Try to put the pots so they don’t get any wet in the pots during winter but beeing outside to get the cold. I acctually put some plastic over a couple of pots I couldn’t move. Try no water untill you see some growth in spring and then just little water from time to time untill they are big plants.

I have watched you for several years now but within this past year was diagnosed with breast cancer but I am doing well partially because of you. I look forward to your show every morning with my 1st cup of coffee, a great start for the day! Last spring we had a beautiful display of bulbs, but after they bloomed a gopher took out most of them. The previous fall we had dug out all the soil in the flower bed and lined it with hardware cloth and secured it with landscape staples, in hopes of preventing more gopher activity. Then we added the dirt back in and the plants. We managed to catch one gopher and I’ve had no more activity since, so I’m hoping to start over again this coming fall with more bulbs. Crossing my fingers and toes that this works!

Laura, I love how you group your tulips together. I admit I never quite knew what to do so I would plant tulips and little rows in planters and it looked kind of odd. I’m definitely loving the more scattered clumpings that you do in an area. Since I’ve been watching you, I’ve switched over to color blends as well. In the past, I bought bulbs at the local discount store, and quite frankly, many of them never even came up the following year. Those have all pretty much gone away by now, so now I’m reaping the benefits of the beautiful bulbs I’ve been planting in the last couple of years. I still have a long way to go, but I think you would like what I’m doing. I get a lot of compliments - the whole neighborhood gets to enjoy my front landscaping. ❤️🌷❤️🌷❤️

Your mentioning ‘color the grass’ is now my fall planting plan. My beds are filled with many of the shrubs that flower seasonally or have leaf color variations I’ve researched from your sessions. You inspired me to plant 500 bulbs last fall, the most we’ve planted in one season. Was so excited to see them come up this spring. Won’t be planting that many this year, but want to try several new (to us) varieties We grow mostly daffodils as the deer leave them alone, while they love the tulips. I have found if I spray the area with Plantskydd our tulips do better. I take care of the gardens for a local city, so lots of room for many more bulbs!

We live out in the country and our "fence row" is lined with various bulbs, primarily daffodils, and what a spectacular display they make in the spring. Love your channel and what an inspiration you have been. Thank you.

That sounds so pretty! We have a small fence row that I lined with daffodils last year and I am loving it!

Oh my gosh, I can't wait to see your spring display next year. I'm sure it will be beautiful as always! Thank you for always being so positive and uplifting and for all the inspiration over the years. I fell in love with gardening when I volunteered for the horticulture department at the Denver zoo 7 years ago and that love lead me to finding you on TH-cam! I've been watching religiously ever since, and I have learned so much from you. Thank you as always!

I'm in an apartment complex and have been the volunteer gardener for 5 years. I love all your videos they get me motivated to use your ideas in a smaller way. I especially love your container ideas. You get me through winter! I also love Colorblends they have beautiful combos. Thank you for inspiring all of us.

I just ordered my second round of daffodils from Colorblends two days ago! It’s never been something I put the work into but since I’ve started watching your channel I figured I’d give it a shot. My yard looked beautiful in the spring! Thank you for introducing me to a whole new world of bulbs!

I love tulips! Every year the town I grew up in has a tulip festival. It's so fun to go and look at all the different varieties each year! This year I am hoping to add some to our garden.

The Colorblends bulbs are some of the very best! I planted my first batch of their bulbs last fall and such an impressive show this spring! Cannot wait to add more of these beauties to my garden 🥰

Hi Laura and Aaron! In 2019, we had several tornadoes on Cape Cod, one of which took all our 14 trees….I lost my will to garden…but I found your channel…now we have a vegetable garden with raised beds, a greenhouse with hydroponics, a hedge with arborvitae and little limelight hydrangeas as well as a border with Denim’n lace Russian sage and Annabelle hydrangeas and so much more! Huge thank you to both of you!!!
