- Autoimmune diseases are a heterogenous group of incompletely understood disorders. The complex pathophysiology of these disorders is regulated in part by a network of different cytokines. Among these cytokines interleukin-6 (IL-6) is considered particularly important. Learn about the role of IL-6 in inflammation, and how it can contribute to rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. More: www.roche.com/i...

Music too happy for video
A good introduction, but careful not to oversimplify IL-6 as good/bad. IL-6 signalling can be classical or trans signalling - with very different outcomes. We also don't know all that we need to know to discuss how competitive binding of IL-6 (and its receptors) and feedback regulation influences the type of IL-6 signalling that results from an increase of IL-6 itself.
Very interesting to hear? What are the differences. Is there a way to get tested to figure out if I am in cytokine storm. I don't feel well. I am sorry to bother you. Thank you for your help.
