So I get home and I find out my close homie got killed in a drive by today I really was close to him tho but I guess things happen fora reason this is for you bro! R.I.P Joey!
I've had a passing interest in FFAF for a few years and liked nearly all the stuff I heard. I have to say though, I only recently looked up where they are from. Of all the places I would have guessed, Wales was pretty much the last. You surprise me, Wales, I approve :)
When hot topic employees could recommend lit af shit and when sample cds got you a bomb first album and then you somehow forget them and then all a sudden u start to recall parts of names of songs an it eats u alive so u have to go back to that sampler cd to rediscover gold hits!!
@12ozshark Emotive hardcore died out a long time ago, it bothers me that people still throw the term around, especially to describe various alternative and post-hardcore bands. AoF's debut had elements of Rites of Spring, hell.. the pedal noted riffs in "Water Wings" had been almost directly lifted from an old Rites track. Minor scales are used far too broadly to draw a comparison between bands simply because they both utilise them, and don't forget that metal used to rely heavily on 5ths.
@TheFlameDeluge Lol, yes they are they rely on minor scales just as melodic metal does, they are without a doubt both emo, there's no reason to ashamed in listening to them and no watch out has nothing on the first album for my personal tastes - but i suppose it depends on what you're looking for, watch out has more much punk influenced guitar work - maybe because it relies more on power chords although i have no idea if thats the case but it doesnt have much in common with their self titled
@iKloveKtoast try Alexisonfire's debut album then because THAT and the album this song is from 'casually dressed...' are HANDS DOWN, no ifs or buts, the two GREATEST, i mean GREATEST metal-based (guitar wise) emo albums of all time
2022 And still miss FFAF.
Gosh, I miss bands like this.
Back before they all started going mainstream.
Love the guitar riffs in this song
One of my favorite guitarists of all time

geiler track man
@12ozshark 1) Neither of these are metal based, or emo 2) "Watch Out!" is far superior in every way to the debut.
