There are those those makeup type brushes found on Amazon and the Amazon UK websites that could be used to smoosh the pastel pencils around and would be the easiest tool to use with these pastel pencils.
They look lovely. I have many pastel/charcoal pencils and my husband got me the Derwent 72 set for Christmas so I don't think I'll be getting these. Two little tips...I always wear a mask when using these type of pencils because of the dust. As for sharpening I also don't like using a blade, I'm far too clumsy! I find the Derwent pastel sharpener and the Kum long point sharpener work the best.
These are a nice set of colours. I looked at Lightwish and remembered they had sent you some metallic pens which were lovely and shiny and I bought them. Have just ordered these chalk pastels. I do have a few different brands but these colours seem to be unusual colours and also they could be good for skin tones. Probably they would be safer fixed but it could cause them to darken. Needs a bit of experimentation, especially with sharpening! I have not found an easy way to do it - Derwent make a pastel pencil sharpener which is by no means foolproof but sort of works or perhaps it would be best to buy a pack of the cheapest plastic pencil sharpeners you can find and have a new, sharp one often. I am not good with a blade either and you can actually do more damage than a sharpener if you haven’t got the knack - I speak from experience!!😂. It’s a pity sharpening is such a problem because pastels are lovely to use and you can get nice effects and blends from them, I liked them for fur especially. I notice they are mentioned as being suitable for colouring books so that is a plus as they generally work better on a surface with more tooth. We can but try! One more thing, if Lightwish happen to be reading this, I think there would be some interest in the acrylic paint pens you have. Perhaps you would consider sending Colouring with K some to show us …?!
Thank you so much! These are nice but you are right, definitely need to experiment with them more so the more I use them, the better I should get, hopefully!
I have chalk pastels but not this brand. These look very nice! I use a stomp for blending(and yes they are great for backgrounds but take quite a bit of work) I must mention that one should be careful about the dust and try not to breathe it in.... 🙂 oh and hello to kitty!!!! ❤
I've had pastel pencils for a few years. They are interesting to use. I have found them impossible to sharpen no matter what one or type you use. You really need to just use a blade.
@@ColouringwithKThe Dahle 133 hand cranked pencil sharpener is good for sharpening the Pastel Pencils and I am not referring to the pastel colored colored pencils at all.
I don’t think the chalk pastel moved as much as say, soft pan pastel but I was planning to fix it using some acrylic glitter paint when I finished the page off later - I’ve done it on camera so you will see that in my Jan updates video, hope you’re doing well x
@@gagaforgluing8247 I just typed it in on Amazon. It wasn’t the first thing to come up so you may need to scroll down a bit. There are actually quite a few other items from them as well. Hope this helps.
This is wonderful, it looks fantastic ☺☺☺
Thanks so much 😊
Love the colors. They remind me of Derwent drawing pencils.
Thank you!
Thanks, those Colored Charcoal Pencils look beautiful, I've already placed an order for them!
Glad you like them!

The make up (eye pencil) sharpener seemed to be doing an okay job with them!

Did you find you needed to use a fixative on the page after you were done the background, K?
