Thanks Joe, like I said, we care about you and worry about you all and you know what it's like, you start thinking have people had an accident, are they ill etc etc. No one thought you'd put Em through the blender, we just worried about her and were missing her, and she will be missed. But we want nothing but good things for all you and Em in her new endeavour. You're part of our daily lives now Joe, it's not Corrie, you're real people and we have real feeling about you all so I know yesterday was a bit of carpet bombing about Em, but it was all with the best of intentions my friend.

Sad to see Em leave your farm but if she needs to get into something that she really wants to do then I wish her all the best. Interested to see if you get another apprentice or carry on as you are.
We use CZF Plus foot bath treatment for both our dairy and beef, its antibiotic free so no worries about needing a cooling of period after use, it's a bit more pricy than some on the market but as they say you pay for what you get an we've always found it works well. I would set the bath up at the exit of the crush and just run them straight through as you have your feeder race already set up for that.
Good luck Em if that's what you want to do and don't mind the early starts an late finishes milking my daughter love the milking side of our farm an I certainly don't complain as I don't have to do it lol, if you want to work with livestock then you want to experience working with all, after I finished college I spent a year on a pig farm before coming back to ours. Do it all while your young Em and pick what you like best and want to stay in 👍
We used to footbath black and white bullocks with Linco-spectin. its a a poultry antibiotic but our vets were happy to prescribe for footbathing cattle. worked fantastic. we always found with formalin that repeated use made them worse over time.

I use hoof sure for dd and use formaldehyde separately to toughen up the hoof. Don't use them together. Good luck to Em, hope she gets on well at the dairy.

When you work in dairy you don't much time specially when your only a worker then it would depend if her boss would like it as dairy gets a lot of hate from activists.
Best of luck to Em, bit more variety working with dairy cow for her , plus she’ll more than hold her own on any machinery with the experience she’s gained working with you👍.
We routinely foot Bath our dairy cows 3 x a week out the parlour with 3% formalin solution.
It’s cheap but really nasty to work with.
Must wear full ppe , gloves and face shield.

Good luck em if dairy is your passion..I did a bit of everything in farming I liked mixed farming liked feeding and bedding up beef cattle in morning then getting out in fields on a tractor..
Em was more important than the whole Joe Seels business 😢😭

Formulin is good,but you could do with 2 baths. One with clean water and the other with your formulin or copper sulphate in so feet are clean before going into your solution.

Could you give us a run down on farm how many cattle and how much straw you use
He uses approx 10 of them big bales of straw every day. He won't say how many cattle. Probably need to investigate through BCMS database if u really wanna know 😆

Intra hoof fit is the business joe we use it on our footpaths and works well, not had any digi in a long time,
Is there knives in straw spreader if are remove some make straw longer wind won't be as big problem .I could be wrong it high proten causes the sore feet probably wrong 😕

Concrete footbath are a better job than plastic not noisy which can be upsetting for the cattle and not prone to movement like the plastic if there not very well anchored,

Put some watching up liquid in with it, it helps the solution stick to the cows feet more, sound stupid but it works know a lot of farms what do that
