  • It is quite hard and unsafe to do any sort of work on a ladder on stairs. So to tackle some trim work on one such place in my house, I built this very secure and sturdy ladder platform for the stairs, and it worked like charm. This ladder hack is not my original idea, but I did make some minor modifications to the inspiration platform.
    Inspiration video: • Make an Easy and Secur...
    Some of the tools and supplies used to complete this project:
    Mitre saw: amzn.to/2vTeKHi
    Kreg jig: amzn.to/2JtmTKG
    Staple gun: amzn.to/2Jxp3Zz
    Felt tape: amzn.to/2vOstzh
    Anti skid mat: amzn.to/2YiP4jy
    The following can be purchased from any hardware store (Home depot, Lowes etc.)
    Hex bolts (3/8" thick and about 4 inches long)
    1/4-20 bolts and insert nuts
    Go ahead and give this DIY ladder platform a try. It's been a game changer form me. I hope you find this helpful too.

    That 5 degree angle cut sloping towards the stairs is a good idea. Thank you. I have to wrap an overhead duct in a garage that is above a short run of steps. This is helpful.

  • @gilboston20033

    That can be done with a 6-footer scaffolding. Make sure you don't use the wheels for extra stability. I've been painting houses for about 35 years.

    • @DIYHomeofMine
      @DIYHomeofMine  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sure. Sometimes scaffolding does not work for lack of space. Thanks for the suggestion though!

    I really liked your design! I'd like to make a version of it for a two story foyer/staircase that I'm going to try to do. How tall would you say would still be safe to make the platform? There would be parts where I would likely be standing at around 10-12 feet up. Would that be too much?

    • @DIYHomeofMine
      @DIYHomeofMine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This platform is to get a stable footing on the stairs. You will have to use another ladder to stand on top of this platform. But I would not make the platform higher than 4 feet itself. I hope it helps. Good luck with your project.

    Thank you so much…this will a great! I have a question…it looked like there was a 3rd leg on the edge that had the taller legs. I’m not sure what that was. Did it go one step down as just another brace?

    • @DIYHomeofMine
      @DIYHomeofMine  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was just another brace for added security. You can skip that altogether. I think it was an overkill.😃

    Hello DIY Home of Mine, This is a great video. I'll going to build the same one. Kindly request to advise exact name & description of two black screw or bolt or nuts - I really don't know how to call it [ you put in the 2 x 4 wood , both are connected to left & right side leg ] which are need to dismantle with hex key. Thanking you in advance for your help in advance.

    • @DIYHomeofMine
      @DIYHomeofMine  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The hardware is called 'Hex bolts (3/8" thick and about 4 inches long) 1/4-20 bolts and insert nuts'. These can be purchased from any hardware store (Home depot, Lowes etc.)

    Nice job! Where are the directions on paper to build this at? I would like to print them. As I am going to hang bead and board on my basement stairs and need to build this to help me with ladder too. Thank You! J.

    • @DIYHomeofMine

      I meant The directions to put the parts together, attached to the the platform, just in case someone else is using it other than me, so they should know how to put it together.
      I can email you those directions, if you want. Or if you need any other information, then let me know and I can help you with that. Thanks for sub.

      I think the video is quite detailed. For the measurements, the legs are about 3 feet high and the platform is about 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. These are approx. measurements. You can adjust them according to your need. I hope it helps. (Sorry about the late response. I had somehow missed your comment.)
