nice job - however in this situation - I normally place ladder against far wall squarely on a step take a scaffold plank (any strong piece of wood ) place it on the landing and on the rung of the ladder making a level surface I can walk on to the light in question
Your ladder looks upside down.... I once borrowed a customer ladder, just like that one. In a hurry, put it upside down. Don't even think about jumping clear, it's over before you know it's happening. Stay safe.

Next time don't use particle wood for this very dangerous job. Use soild wood instead.
