Costco Kirkland Wood Pellets FAIL! Failure to Feed / Come Up to Temperature on RecTeq Smoker

- After several phone calls of troubleshooting, I finally figured out with the help of RecTeq support the problem with my smoker: It has not been able to come up to temperature because I’ve been using newer Costco / Kirkland wood pellets. Apparently their quality control has gotten poor in the last few months, and many are simply too LONG to feed smoothly into my RecTeq RT-700 Bull smoker. In this video, I explain the troubleshooting process and the solution I have found at last.
I went to our local Ace Hardware store tonight and got some Traeger pellets, and after emptying my RecTeq it’s again running like a champion. I’m going to be hunting around our area to see where I can get the best deals on high-quality pellets which are sized correctly for my smoker.

Thanks for this video!! I just picked up a bag(plus 2 back ups) and when I poured the first bag into my "keep em dry" container my first thought was." whoa, that's some long pellets!" I'm thinking, thanks to your video, that either I'll try and sort the one I poured and break them into smaller pellets or just take the loss and return the bags I haven't opened and bonfire the other. Less hassle than an auger jam.
