Hey thanks for watching the video!
As a daughter of a Truck Driver, I want to thank you for giving those drivers some love & shot out….They get looked over a lot ❤❤❤ 🙏
Thank you to all our amazing dairy farmers and milk delivery truckers. We have the best mil and milk products.
Jan, I love your farm and family. Thanks again for another great video ♥️🇨🇦Ontario
Love that intro with the big flag!! Good job!
Love Love seeing the Canadian flag flying high and proud. 🇨🇦 & 🇳🇱 & 🇮🇪 very proud of all. Amen to all the farmers and truckers that move all the product. I’m excited to see the completion of the cheese building but also how the fields will do this year.
Thank you for your amazing work in that bitter cold. It’s not easy working in those conditions. Keep warm !
Jan, you are the coolest….I always look forward to your vids. I spend my winters in trees, and shrubs, pruning, etc. My 1600hrs. tea time !!! Thx!!! Rob
“Looking forward to spreading some crap.” Love it! Thanks for this and all of the videos!
All that snow will ensure lots of moisture for spring crops ..
Hi Jan. Brrr it's cold out there. It is Thursday evening just after 4pm in Montreal. It's been snowing for a few hours now and (-10c) It has been Balmy here as of late.
We are supposed to get (5 to 10 cm) of snow tonight. Stay warm out there.
I am cold just listening to the crunch of snow under your feet. I am thrilled that you do what you do. I could not do it.
Mirjam will become Saskatchewan's cheese queen )))
Thank you Jan for another great video; appreciate the cheese building update! Stay safe and warm, best wishes from Ontario.
Jan, I’m sure you’ve already said, but what cheeses are you going to make? Even as an American Citizen I love your intro and seeing that beautiful Canadian flag. I hope we can always be good neighbors. I loved your video. God bless!
Film-makers are in awe over the special affects in your video today. They only wish they could replicate this in their movies. LOL
First rag hit blue in the first shot 💙 !
Thank you for reminding me why I left Chicago for Los Angeles 30 years ago. I admire anyone that can survive in your climate. I ♥CANADA
I remember the cold days I used to live in Winnipeg, nice video, keep it up.
That looks real cold and difficult to farm!
Great video!
Thank you for the cheese building update🎉
Many years ago at Silver Star (skiing) went and it was a frozen week. It was so cold they had to use a blow torch to warm up (oil ?) for the ski lifts to work. One day, It warmed up so much, we were taking off sweaters with glee. I needed help to take off sweaters. The newly arrived skiers thought we were crazy. It was under -35. The temperature in the motel/lodge was very cold. Wore sweater to bed, longjohns. Those were the days.
❤❤❤❤❤
good job!...BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I’m in Florida surrounded by 51st staters. They are still repairing hurricane damages. FYI, you might explain the grade of diesel for cold weather and how you treat that so it doesn’t freeze in tank, lines, filters.
Do you need to feed more TMR to the coral animals when it gets this cold?
What is your system of choosing sires to match the cow? What AI group do you use to choose sires from? Who makes the decisions?
@@1striperon I’d guess they’re buying from proven stock outside farm. This from armchair visitor.
@@kellwood1404 Yes. There are groups called studs who provide frozen semen from bulls chosen from exceptional pedigreed stock. They then track his daughters production and adherence to confirmation standards. Each bull, in addition to milk production, produces confirmation traits that aid in matching up with the cow. For example, if his daughters have noticeable strong legs, he would be a good match for a cow who has average or below average legs. He could produce daughters with exceptional udder confirmation that may be lacking in the cow. All of this information is collected and tracked in an effort to improve genetics. It is a costly process that the stud group undertakes to "prove" the bull's results as a sire, called a "proof." I asked which one they use.
it tends to weep a bit more at the fittings during the summer but ATF is much easier on hydraulic hoses in the winter.. just saying.. might be an issue for units under warranty but i doubt that applies to your loaders Anything else and you will eat out O rings but that stuff works just fineAnyway.. something to consider for next winter.. March is just around the corner..
Come on, dude -45 is nothing all most like summer compared to the dark side of the moon😂😂😂😂
Question, do you milk 2 or 3 times per day. Both my grandparents were dairy farmers in Wisconsin. So as i kid i would spend the summer helping my uncle on the farm after my grandfather passed away. We milked 48 cows twice a day and had to carry the 8 gallon milk container to the dump station and then push the dump station down the alley as you milked the girls
Stay warm
I live in New Zealand and does not get that cold here in winter 🥶
And I enjoy watching your videos even though I’m not a dairy farmer
Jan, ever think of filming a ride along with the milk pickup truck🤔
I’d replace the big garage doors with windows with insulated panels instead of the windows and you won’t have ice build up we have minimal issues with our doors in Minnesota
is getting verry cold in yoyur earea jani asee even -31 this coming week. i keep enjoying the videos keep up the good work
Love the videos. Was curious how many times that the rags make it into the basket when you toss them instead of floor? 😂🤣. I’m guessing about 5%. Keep up the great work. Bob in Pennsylvania
Any upcoming milking competitions this year with the sisters
Do you ever have frozen teats on the dry cows in the outside pens?
It will be summer again. (some day)
Jan....summer is coming
Stay Warm Brother.
Great video brother from the imperial county CA 🇺🇸
What will the cheese be called, and will you sell it in BC? I loved going to Armstrong cheese in Interior. Was delicious. No comparison to store bought.

We do pre dip when where milking cows and it has less effect when it's warmer on the farm. But if it's a chill temprature we see like a difference of 2 liters a day. At the moment the cows give 30 liters a day and where really happy when we see this results. How many liters a day do you have from the cows? Anyway a great video and i hope you survive the cold.😅😂 Groetjes uit België
Is this where Ice Cream comes from???? Do your cows squirt out soft-serve? 🍦
wow that's Cold! -40 wind chill geez
❤from Norway
15 centimeters =
5.906 inches of snow
Something is crazy 🤔 Jan speaks Spanish 🤭
I thought it was Netherland German?
@kellwood1404 There's something crazy about something... as soon as Jan speaks, a dubbed female voice comes in speaking Spanish... if it was Swedish it wouldn't have been so wrong since I live in Sweden 😉
Looks like temps are getting much better -21 degrees Fahrenheit Sunday
How cold does it get in the barn when it's that cold outside?
Cheese factory coming along nice
Good afternoon Thanks for the video how about the cheese factory?
It’s hard enough to milk cows in positive temperatures 😂 🇮🇪
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. I was wondering how many cows you have compared to how many head you milk? Stay warm.
Retire dairyman waiting 5 minutes is 5 minutes early and back in house
Recommend you increase volume on your new intro music
-30 degrees celsius =
-22 degrees fahrenheit
How will the stuff going on with U.S. impact your farm?
this is impressive...
I don't know why you wouldn't have humidity controlled. The walls gotta be rotting inside
Too cold for this old woman from Kentucky in US
Question: what do you think of becoming part of the USA ??????
It isn't a serious proposal. Trump just likes to twist tails. Same as the whole tariff thing was just a bargaining chip to get Trudeau moving on the border. Canada is Canada, they don't want to be part of the US and most of us want them to remain our good neighbor.
If you're not keen, with the crap politicians we have in the UK, likely volunteer!
i sent you an email to you so if you can have a look when you have a chance soon as possible. stay warm.
A foggy barn is an indicator of insufficient ventilation with pneumonia and lost production lurking around the corner.
How far around the corner? Because they have been doing it this way since 2019. 🙄
Actually fog is due to entrance of -30C air from outside into warm barn. Have you noticed the large ventilation stacks on the roof of the barns.
