I have been out of the Philippines for about 7 years now. Davao is our home but we lived in Bacoor for a year. We found a two-story house with three bedrooms and maid quarters. It was a very nice house in a gated community not too far from several malls and everything else you would need. It ran us P15,500 per month, not including utilities and no furniture or appliances other than AC. We stayed there most of the time we lived in Metro Manila until we moved to a duplex for about P5,000 per month. It was okay but not as nice as the first location. We hope to return this year but I am concerned with the prices I have been seeing in this video. I'm not really understanding why Davao City is more expensive than Metro Manila.

Price seems high for Davao especially in your comment that price is comparable to Mactan. I would expect prices to be lower comparable to Cebu. It looked like an SM building that they develop around their malls.

I know of similar apartments in Dumaguete you can get for the same prices 28k and 18k. But they have a pool, free wifi and cable. This apartment complex also have rooms for 13k with all the above. Although a great price for a big city, these are a bit pricey for retired folks on a budget.

Are gyms open in Davao now? Best gym i found was at the Marco Polo, with a good lap pool too.

Good to see, but why do filipinos always choose that awful dark brown colors on doors etc ??? It's just dreadful! Also the split aircon should have been in the bedroom and not in the living room. The wall window type is much more noisy at night!

Foreigners can come in if married or on retirement visas. I was here prior to the pandemic.

Just curious! Why did you turn off the camera just before arriving at the apartments? It appears that you may be hiding something that would make the area a little less livable. What is the area like in regards to meeting other expats, going to restaurants and coffee shops in the area? What is the crime rate like in the area?

I explained in the video it's just near SM city mall with tons of restaurants and coffee shops. Nothing to hide it's a great condo.

It's not like he had a vested interest in this apartments, just trying to help us understand what it is.
It's funny how we sometimes look for conspiracies when it's actually nothing there.

Wow, I think the prices she is quoting you includes foreigner "tax". That is very expensive for Davao. Get your Filipina to rent the apartment (never be seen with her there during the negotiations) and the price will be much lower.
