    Bears fan here. I think the argument about the Rams injury problems is completely fair. But everyone knew that going into the game and everyone outside of Chicago (except those total idiots in Vegas) picked the Rams to win anyways. It’s not such a terrible thing to admit you were wrong about a game

I will preface this by saying I’m all in on CW, I didn’t like them getting rid of JF but I see the ceiling for Caleb and it’s higher than Fields’. But if you pull the nonsense that CW did pre-draft like trying to get ownership stake and wanting to set trends with medicals during the combine and there being rumors about wanting a clause that prohibits the franchise tag, then be ready for the smoke. I think he’s handling it well and he’s humble about getting humbled. I’m actually happy this is happening bcuz my hold up with him was his mental makeup. So far so good. But if you want smoke then be prepared for the fire.

    The thing is when people said he’s a rookie and won’t meet the expectations that they were putting on him, they would bring up CJ Stroud. Now that he isn’t meeting the expectations we can’t bring up Daniels or Stroud. We need more consistency when it comes to evaluating Caleb. If he was supposed to be this great QB coming out then he needs to show it.
    I know a lot of people think I hate Caleb because I’m critical of him but that’s not the case. It’s more of the fans getting at people for not buying it right away because we saw there were holes and he was a rookie. Some said if he was on the team last year (with less talent) team would have gone to the playoffs.
    People can’t make these statements and then say “well wait he’s just a rookie, we need patience” or Kap saying you need to be all in or you aren’t a real fan then when you buy in and say “wait this isn’t what I was promised” we have to then wait, when we were being patient to begin with

    Daniels is playing behind a better line. Caleb is learning and adapting to playing behind perhaps the worst O-line in football.
    I’m digging the progression he’s making. He’s not making excuses, he’s making things happen. The O.C. is slowly turning him into a pocket passer, and he’s trusting the line more and more. Limit those scrambling plays. This ain’t college…pro lineman and def backs can catch him.

      Daniels is looking better cause the athletic, faster running than everybody else QBs almost always do right away. This the league starts figuring them out and they either fall off or become super stars like Lamar. Daniels does like he'll end up the Lamar path, but he's a totally different type of QB than Williams. In the long run, I'd bet Williams ends up being better.

  • @thomastaylor4178
    @thomastaylor4178 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Yes he needs to be transformational after 4 games! Chicago media and National media hyped him up to be the second coming of Christ and he has grossly under delivered, whereas Jayden Daniels has over delivered already, he looks the part already so now everyone is making excuses for CW (I understand the circumstances i.e. the O-line is horrible) but it is what it is...! 🐻⬇ Can we stop this athletically gifted crap... the more athletically gifted QB isn't here anymore! Can we please stop comparing him to QB who have been proven generational talents, I haven't seen it yet! He wasn't the best athlete on the field in college, he's just a decent QB at this point please stop with the comparisons to the better QBs in the league he's not that!

  • @346rt
    @346rt หลายเดือนก่อน

    no this is not it. before being drafted he was being blown up for not playing on time, on script. Before the season, “can he learn how to be a good point guard?”. That’s what this is. Getting the ball out in 2.5 seconds..a top 6 QB in the league doing that because his Oline is bottom 6 in the league. That’s what this is. Nearly 100 % against pressure under 2.8 seconds. That’s what this is. The NFL..that’s what this is. Very proud of him taking what he has to work with.

    There were some plays that were missed that were not Caleb's fault on Sunday. Rome Odunze got held slightly which disrupted his route and caused what appeared to be an overthrow by Caleb in the endzone. Then, for some reason, DJ Moore ran half-speed along the sideline like he didnt expect the ball to come his way, or he could have had abother td too. I also think Caleb's lost some confidence after the first couple games. He really doesnt want to turn it over anymore, so he's afraid to take big shots down field right now, but as the offense makes some strides, he'll get more comfortable and start slinging it around again, and more big plays will come.

    I have seen Colin flip flop and play favorites. But in this case I really think he is seeing what I see and saying what you are. It’s really the Bears coaching staff that is the blame - not Caleb. Daniel’s has an OC that is playing to his strengths. Caleb has a coaching staff that are coaching for their jobs. Big difference in how you approach things. Caleb didn’t light it up this week either but he looked more comfortable. That meeting was definitely needed with the OC.

    Stop making excuses for Caleb. According to yall, he's supposed to be the next Mahomes. According to yall, the Bears supposed to make the playoffs. According to yall, this was the best situation ever for a rookie QB. The problem: yall have overhyped and overrated Caleb Williams. He's not Mahomes from the pocket. He's inconsistent from the pocket, plays hero ball too much, plays out of structure too much, fumbles too much, takes too many sacks, immature. Those are my thoughts of him coming out of college. The Bears bad o-line is only highlighting his flaws. Unless he learns how to play consistently from the pocket, he won't be great. Note: he's playing exactly like he did in college, except he's not getting away with those silly throws. His best game stats..17-23, 157 yards, 1 td. Caleb is a game manager unless he improves his pocket passing, pocket awareness, and decision making. Jayden is a better pocket passer. That's why he's better than Caleb now, coming out of the draft, last year in college, and moving forward. From my perspective, Caleb is more like Zach Wilson & Johnny Manziel until further notice. Julian, Caleb in wins has 0 turnovers. In losses..5 turnovers. So, the bad play in part he's responsible for. Stop making excuses.

    Cowherd is as floppy as a crepe. I stopped taking him seriously a few years ago.
    I'm a Bears fan who knows WAAAY more about the Bears than he does because that's the ONLY team I follow. Cowherd spreads himself thin following every team in every major sport. Th
    Terefore, his knowledge is very shallow. And sometimes it's not HIS knowledge but that which someone on his show shares with him.
    Before this week, the Bears offense was horrible, despite a GREAT showing in preseason. Hopefully, this week's win with better o-line play, is a sign that the offense will return to preseason form.
    That, and Williams not turning the ball over could see us being thr good team many, including Cowherd, said we would be before the season started.
