When you extend it out the head left and right it has a bushing in there. It looks like the bushing might be bad because it is downwards when you pick up the truck. A few things when it comes to diesels and hydraulic systems, you're almost always going to be correct in assuming the larger port is suction/inlet and the smaller port being pressure/outlet, the goes for just about any pump I've worked on that prioritize pressure over flow. As for the arm, I highly recommend putting some long small diameter springs on the D rings to the bumper to keep it squared when operating and ALWAYS keep a spare set of chain and binders or straps rated for well more than you anticipate. I can't tell you how many times I thought I had straps and they weren't there or the ones I had were underrated for what I needed them for. I also highly recommend doing a few full cycles on all cylinders whenever the system is opened, so filter changes, pump changes, or even a leak on the suction side. You can have air bubbles get caught in the cylinders and if you know about air in the brakes, you'll know this isn't the greatest for hydraulic performance As for my source, I'm a 2nd class Construction Mechanic for the navy and specialize in cranes and MK36 MTVR wreckers (military version of a rotator tow truck)

Get it done!! Tow truck drag race, Rory called you out, but it’s time to see who’s tow truck is the fastest. Fabrats, Robbie, Matt, Tow Mater and am sure you can talk Ol’ Heavy D into it.
tow truck race is actually not a bad Idea. do laps, then down into the center of the track to repo a crown vic (since there's plenty of them onsite and its consistent load for each racer) with all the expected safety chain/tow equipment, then back onto the track for more laps, then to a different unloading spot and back for one last lap.
Be careful with those pipe fittings you used to adapt to the PTO pump. That looks like a class 125 or 250 cast reducer. Only good for 2-300 psi max. It might end up being a week point down the road.
Once again Cleetus and Squirrel work their magic. What a great purchase. This tow truck is going to be a great addition for Freedom Factory races to remove breakdowns from the track quickly and safely.
Tighten up the slop in the quick lift so it doesn’t drag as you are backing up the vehicle that you are towing. Install a backup camera for towing and weld a couple pieces of square bar on the main lift arm to keep the tow bar centred when it’s folded up.
Not sure if someone said this yet but I think the starter cracked on the 7.3 from spraying starting fluid into it while cranking. Just a guess... Also I would hook up a light for when you send power to that clutch on the pump. Driving it around with it on burned it out in the first place and probably less fluid loss on the first test if the pump wasn't engaged. Cleetus, do you read your comments or am I wasting my energy on trying to help?
The 7.3L diesel engine really is one of the best engines ever made, I have an ambulance converted into a camper and the 7.3 has 500k miles on it and runs like a dream!
Cleet, when you tow something with the steer wheels on the ground, take the seat belt and wrap it around the steering wheel and buckle it. It will hold it from turning on you.
Cleet and squirrel antics are so freaking funny. The tow buggy running and hydraulics working can't wait to see what it looks like with the wrap and how she sounds with the new injectors. She's going to be primed.

A speed towing contest is in order now that you got a rig to compete in and you could probably set it up at the burnout pad, drive in, turn around, back up to latch on and leave the same way you came, timed from entry to exit. Some guys would end up with a hydraulic e-brake set up probably for a fast whip around for the back up, haha. A rear view camera would be the ultimate addition to get the job done fast and precise. I bet a bunch of people with tow trucks would compete lol.

SNATCHING THE JH DIESEL, ILLEGAL PARKING DOING DEALER/ BANK REPOS .....IT IS ALL THE SAME , MOST REPOS WERE BLATANT THIEVES AND YOU HAVE TO THINK LIKE ONE TO FIND THE REPO YOU ARE CHARGED WITH AND DO IT QUICKLY
As having 10+ years experience with all light duty types of tow trucks I recommend that you go thru that entire truck and check all they hydraulic cylinders all the hoses and most importantly all the structural parts of the boom along with check and replace any bushings or or pivot points on it the tighter and less leaky they are the safer and better they operate the last thing you need is a line to break and it let the boom to leak down or a L arm to bleed off and start opening up! And please make sure you strap the tires into the L arms and safety chain the vehicle I have had a sneaker blow a line and the idiots who had the truck before the company I worked for bought it took the check valves out and it let the boom down and if I hadn’t strapped the wheels I would have lost the car !
I bought these as well the transmission lines are from sitting all the ones I bought that sat for a long time always ran and everything but transmission lines always blew out how brittle they get.
One of my guys was working on my work truck (3rd gen ram) and he lost the 3/8 drive ratchet. We had to replace the radiator 3 years later and found the ratchet stuffed between the intercooler and radiator haha

He’s going to do it with Rory from trail mater it was on his channel where Cletus said he was down
tow truck race is actually not a bad Idea.
do laps, then down into the center of the track to repo a crown vic (since there's plenty of them onsite and its consistent load for each racer) with all the expected safety chain/tow equipment, then back onto the track for more laps, then to a different unloading spot and back for one last lap.
lol "7.3'll pull a house down" had me cracking up, thank you for doing what you do
Gotta respect the commitment. Whole wall from blots and nuts and they reuse the crusty one for the pto. lol. Love it.
If it's not broke don't fix it haha
Be careful with those pipe fittings you used to adapt to the PTO pump. That looks like a class 125 or 250 cast reducer. Only good for 2-300 psi max. It might end up being a week point down the road.
Sch 80 stainless for the win !
that was the tank side, they had an AN fitting on the pressure side
not an issue on the suction side.
@@aegixxer1 Yeah just watched again and realized that. Thought it was pressure side at first lol
Love to see Cleet & Squirrel dealing with every 7.3 problem under the sun! Don’t forget to check your abs and the dipstick oring seal on the oil pan!
I actually LOLED when yall put Sam's truck back, and the tow truck still had the blown out tire! 😂😂
Picking up Sam's truck:
"that old man's done dude" 😂😂😂😂😂
"WHY YOU DO DAT?" "WHY YOU TOW ME?" "WHY YOU .........?" THE SCENE FROM "CHAPPIE" AND HIS FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL! , COMES TO MIND.....
"Scoop" has to be its name!
Pretty sure "Hook and Scoop" is what they call a repo truck.
Or Tater Tow't
Rippers Repo
More like scoot brother amirite. Scoot n toot. Invoice
Poop scooper
The fittings in the PTO looked to screw in very easy. Some pumps are O ring. Some are pipe thread.
I thought the pressure side out of the pump was a female JIC. it’s very common to over tighten them and crack em around the inner flange.
Cleet sitting on the floor at Ace 😂
Cleeter & squirrel out here wreaking havoc! Watch were y'all park ya cars! 🤣🙌
Gon be on the look out at the freedom 500 😂
I’d HIGHLY recommend doing an intercooler setup on that rig if you plan on towing anything super heavy.
50 minutes this is getting good you guys converted me from watching cable tv! Haven’t turned on the cable box in years .
Tip. Anytime, I had an issue with a hose coming off. I always heat it up with a heat gun. It softens to hose and allows it to come off so much easier.
I thought everyone knew that, guess not.
You can fix that key issue with the ignition by tightening the two bolts under dash for the shifting column
The 7.3L diesel engine really is one of the best engines ever made, I have an ambulance converted into a camper and the 7.3 has 500k miles on it and runs like a dream!
Get rid of the emissions equipment and it’ll run forever.
not to mention the 6.0
@@RyanMcIntyre My 96 7.3 didn't come with any of that crap on it. Runs amazing at 280k.
@@RyanMcIntyrethere is no emissions lmao
I heard it'll pull down a house.
Towing videos with cleet and squirrel "hell yeah brother" 😂 wish I could get a chance to meet him one day
Cleeter and Squirrels Lemon Lot. This tow truck series is so awesome. I cant wait to see yall start towing people the last one is hilarious
Whenever I hear a 7.3 idle it reminds me of my grandpas old ford and me trying to hear it as it comes down the street at 5am to go hunting/fishing. Thanks for those memories and bad ass rig!!
I love how excited Cleet gets over little stuff. I hurt my face from smiling so hard and at times, outright laughing out loud. Quality content. Best automotive channel on the internet.
HELL YEAH BROTHER! Finally a 7.3 on the channel!!!
Got me over here making sure those bills are paid up! Not messing with these guys and this unit!
Lift up on the shifter when you go to turn the key and it’ll turn smooth as butter
yep the old fords seem to wear out fast i've got an 04 with only 190k km and is more messed up then this lol
“It looks like the same PTO but… it’s different”.
Flawless content today boys 😂
Super excited to see this OBS 7.3 on the Channel and hope you guys build it. Have a 97 7.🌲myself. Recently did up pipes, down pipes, KC 300 turbo, 20% full force injectors and Banks Intercooler and it’s a real weapon now!
Got my PPV purchased for this weekend! Looking forward to the events!
Haven’t watched through the video as yet. But it is April 5th here in Australia. So Happy Birthday Cleet!!
Stoked to see a 7.3 on the channel! Excited to see the build.
7:39 "She looks well greased!" Just the way ol' Squirrel likes em! 😂
The 7.3 key jam is such a classic. Never driven one I didn’t have to wrestle the column to let me start it.
LOVINGGG the long videos!!! coming home from work throwing on some cleeter with some dinner. good end to the night. thanks mate
We need tow truck drag races 🏁 😂 lets go rory 💪 you gonna smoke ol cleeter mc skeeter lol
CLEETUS, SAM AND SQUIRREL 🐿️ ARE THE COOLEST GUYS EVER!!! Man, they are sooo upbeat and positive! Two great guys who work for a cool boss! Plus, they are very entertaining, especially Squirrel 🐿️. Awesome video CLEETUS 👍. Anyway, thanks for the video 📸.
41:57 "We got two things: Our rules and Our balls. And we don't break 'em for nobody!" George with the one-liners! :'D
That's basically a line from scareface
Day 76 of asking why George doesn't get to drag race anymore?
Blazers been out for a while now hasn’t it
Cleet said the blazer was done if it did another wheelie, he did and cleet blamed himself because he was tuning… I’m pretty sure if I’m not wrong they put the engine and blower in a different car…
Because they're going to be switching the setup or he's going to pilot Ruby he's going to decide
He’s a street racer not a drag racer
@@Ray00069 are you silly? Cleet has mentioned no prep one time. George isn’t out here street racing lmaooo. Guy can’t pedal it on prep why would he know how to drive no prep?
I don't know about y'all, but I love these long videos Cleetus puts out! HELL YEAH BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👌💯💯💯
JH ability to show up with hilarious timing is impeccable.
Tow Truck Drags this fall with Rory are gonna be awesome with all these new tow rigs.
Acorns for the yard name!! Squirrels stash spot.
Use this as the more diesel content button.
Yes please lol 7tree lover
A speed towing contest is in order now that you got a rig to compete in and you could probably set it up at the burnout pad, drive in, turn around, back up to latch on and leave the same way you came, timed from entry to exit. Some guys would end up with a hydraulic e-brake set up probably for a fast whip around for the back up, haha. A rear view camera would be the ultimate addition to get the job done fast and precise. I bet a bunch of people with tow trucks would compete lol.
No CAMERAS ALLOWED! DO IT OLD SCKOOL "LOOOK , ENGAGE, HOOK AND BOOK! BUT THE CAR HAS TO GO AROUND THE TRACK 2TIMES UN SECURED CAUSE THATS HOW SNATCHES ARE DONE......LOSE THE CAR, LOSE YOUR TIME......
Not only an arm chair tow guy, BUT I HAVE WORKED WITH TOW TRUCKS AND REPO SUCH AS THE ONE YOU BOUGHT THERE!
I hope to see more of Matt, Trail Mater, and all those guys from Utah! lets get them all on your channel!!
You watched that video and thought they care about safety when using that truck?
@@Leistung.Autohaus didn’t think about it like that but your right probably why he bought a old beat up truck
I bought these as well the transmission lines are from sitting all the ones I bought that sat for a long time always ran and everything but transmission lines always blew out how brittle they get.
Your new videos are UNSTOPPABLE!
Anyone else immediately drop what you’re doing when you get that notification?
Lunch time!!
Works better than the helicopter. Does it have a ashtray and a cigarette lighter? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Have you looked at the reload bonuses They seem perfect for keeping the game going after the initial play
Your humor is on point, always puts a smile on my face!
Good ole Cleet and squirrel on my lunch break!!
good day when cleetus post. God bless this country 🇺🇸
Need to see all of Matt’s Offroad buddies with Cleetus doing tow truck drag racing.
One of my guys was working on my work truck (3rd gen ram) and he lost the 3/8 drive ratchet. We had to replace the radiator 3 years later and found the ratchet stuffed between the intercooler and radiator haha
Day off , Cleet n a wake n bake bowl … Whata day !!!
Innappropriate. This is family channell
@@user59371 Shut up! This is a free country.
@@user59371 Obviously he meant a bowl of cereal ;)
Can't beat it.

Go to harbor freight, buy one of those small house camera with monitor. Wire it in on the dash and it will help you with hooking up quicker. 😂
Just FYI a bot has copied this comment and is using it to farm likes. I report them, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
@@brian_sipe 🙏 thank you!
I wonder if Cleetus has a spare Axle Dolly for the new(used) auto-lift tow truck..
The handlebars will never get old!
Frickin love Sam. That man is a national treasure

We tow every shape and size!
Ask us about are package!
In and out in a split!
I don’t know why you don’t keep a mustache year ‘round 👍 happy birthday a day early buddy 🎂
Or 3 moustaches in this case.😂
It's definitely completing the repo man aesthetic... I dig it.
I don't think Cleet could rock a full beard, doesn't have the jaw line for it.
Don’t think Madi would agree!
He wants to be able to pick rip up from school…
