In Ireland we are against the genocide being perpetrated by Israel, we are not against jewish people or any religion, but we know what it's like to have your land stolen by a foreign oppressor and to have your people starved and murdered and driven from your homeland, it's natural that we can identify with the Palestinians.
Bosniaks were literally the first Europeans to help Palestinians, even volunteering in the war back in 1948, so idk why are you so surprised that the European nations are reaching out and helping.
True ethnic cleansing happened in Pakistan where in 1947 Hindus were 25% but today only 1% remained, but see how the liberals & the world media is silent.! & Same thing happening in Bangladesh too.
When British starved the Irish people it was the ottoman empire who sent ships full of food to Ireland in response the Ireland wrote a thank you letter to the muslim caliph and that letter is still available to this day . Well done Ireland to stand with Palestinian God bless you
Some correction needed. The Ottomans wanted to send more but were not allowed to send more than Queen Victoria sent. The poorest of the poor whose land was dispossed were the Choctaw Nation of America. They were dispossed starved and eventually walked the trail of tears. They gave in what in todays terms would be millions. However Turkey should not be proud as they committed a genocide on Armenians in 1915. In my own family my grandmothers brother lies in an unknown grave near Suvla Bay in 1915. He was a soldier and took his chances. My grief for him is no less than those Turks who died at Cannakale.

You can almost be sure nowadays than when the term "antisemitic" is being thrown around, it is no more than a buzzword (just like "national security" in the US, a term used to justify any crime and to silence any opposition). The Palestinians are a Semitic people, so the right-wing, fanatical Israelis should be the first to be called "antisemitic", yet that thought doesn't even cross anybody's mind.
But nowadays, one cannot be Anti-Zionist without being Anti-Semitic. I mean, if Israel’s Arab neighbors are prejudiced against Jews and would be willing to jail or kill them, where would they all go if Israel is capitulated? And wouldn’t they also be seen as occupiers in the country they escape to? (Though there is a large Jewish community in the US, especially in my home state.)
@@aycc-nbh7289 I do understand your line of thinking, but I'd still disagree. You can very well be against the oppressive practices and tactics of the Israeli regime without being against "the Jews" collectively (I understand that this is what you meant by "antisemitic"). Ending the oppression doesn't mean that all Jews have to somehow disappear. Jews and Muslim Arabs were living together in those (and other) lands before and that could very well happen again - that is, if only the systemic oppression could end. Yes, there are certainly many Arabs and Muslims-some of them with extreme and pathological views, others with reasonable views and really everything in between-who are deeply disturbed by what has been happening over the last decades. Also, there has been political dictatorship and oppression in most of the Arab countries, but any orthodox Muslim who is knowledgeable about his religion and who is non-pathological, will to this day tell you that although they are against the practices of the radical Israeli settlers and the government that backs them, they are not against "the Jews" in general. Quite the opposite actually, they would see it as a religious duty to protect the Jewish and Christian communities living in their countries. That is why those Muslims and Jews who aren't yet radicalised (and I’m tempted to say: brainwashed) can very well stand side by side, knowing that the orthodox Jew does not support the radical Zionist agenda, just as the orthodox Muslim doesn't support ISIS, for example, and that there is no inherent conflict between the two communities. I'm not saying there's going to be a solution any time soon, although I wish that could happen, but there are indeed reasonable and level-headed people on both sides. @@rVeraa I am very well aware of what happened in Cyprus. Don't try to justify the the Turkish invasion, cause even after they secured the Turkish Cypriot people and UN called for a ceasefire, they continued to conquer more lands, not respecting the ceasefire which was respected from the other side and kicked out the Greek Cypriots from their homelands like dogs, taking their properties by force. And none threatened to expel the Turkish Cypriots from the island. They perceived it this way, fearing they would have the same fate of Turkish people in Crete, but the goal of EOKA and Cypriots was to kick out of the island the British occupation which made horrible crimes to the residents of the island the previous years, not the Turkish Cypriots. With Turkish invasion the occupation of the island by the British continued smoothly and Cyprus is like East Berlin/ West Berlin thanks to them.
@Der Patriotic my point was not on Turkish Cypriots as I don't have any problem with them and I think it's a good choice people live together again. They were hurt of course, but this still doesn't justify the actions of Turkey which were not only just protective for the Turkish Cypriots as they like to say but had also a character of hostility to Greek Cypriots and maybe even revenge towards Greeks. They went way too far and the issue could be very well solved with diplomacy so that we don't disturb all the people in the island and create all this mess for a misunderstanding. Never it was a goal of either Greece or Greek Cypriots to kick out of the island the Turkish Cypriots and I read that before Greek forces go to the island had assured Turkey that no Turkish Cypriots would be disturbed by this action, just like the Turks in Thrace in Greece live peacefully for years now. Anyway, the mess was created, the British were the real winners again of this whole story, Cyprus (all of them) was the great laser and neither Turkey nor Greece gained anything from this. those who say anti-semitic should be aware that there is a difference between anti-semitic and anti-Israeli
That's true. The exact term is Anti-Zionist.
Exactly. Some of the most passionate supporters of the Palestinian cause I know are Jewish.
It's just that the show is currently being run by those that don't want those voices to be heard.
It's probably because here in Ireland the Brits have always been very generous with land that wasn't theirs. Just like in the Middle East.
Is that why you keep on deserting Ireland

This current situation there is as sick as it is for Korea separated or the East Berlin / West Berlin separation. None gets anywhere from this. You get my point? I'm not telling this with any hate. If we tried mutual understanding for once we would have less problems between us.
