I dont know why but this is literally the musical depiction of abandoned places, not even necessarily haunted, Just.. abandoned.. left for someone to find and walk through, many secrets left behind just waiting to be uncovered.. secrets of a normal life. It kind of reminds me of the Backrooms for some reason, probably because both are just as lonely and terrifying in their own way. I love this.
I think that the title of "Musical Representation of Abandonment" should go to the Barracks Settlement theme. That shit still gets under my skin years later.
I need to play this game, the music sounds so dreamlike yet nightmarish It has now been approximately 8 months since I played and beat this game, and I still find more intriguing things to love about it every day.
the music is all (nicely chosen) placeholder loops, but with a few gems among them, this track is a slowed down version of the "shield folk world" music of this same game
@@Jason75913 Oh, I played this game over a year ago at this point lol. But I do love how it does that stuff with the music and how dream-like it all feels, and it was definitely a large inspiration on my first original game.
This depicts a feeling... something along the lines of walking in the dark. When I walk in the dark, I feel this kind of fright, that within the lines is like a dream, no one walking around, only you, and whatever may be creeping in your window. This song is how it feels.
always found it interesting that this one teeny tiny area had its own song playing. when you go down one of the escalators to the mall the music immediately changes
You are at a dark garage, theres pipes, and electric storages. You feel like someones coming, but you can't know where. You go deeper and deeper, feeling like its not ending. You find an earthquake room, you rush to it. and find some tables, theres a small crack into the hole. You go inside it, turns out its a cave. Theres water drippling down the ceiling. You found the exit, but find yourself at the beggining of a mall, elevators are not working, and you suddenly hear this melody. You climb the mall stairs as fast as possible. You think using emergency exists will make you go into surface, but you ended up in the same room. You slowly lose hope, thinking its over. You go into the security camera room. You lay down to couch, crying while hearing this melody
This and the Mall Rooftop track are my favorites in the whole game. The Rooftop is by far my favorite though. This game isn't one I play as a retro JRPG/RPG fanatic I absolutely love the visuals and audio but it's just a walking simulator and AMAZING to watch but not something I am going to play. Playing and watching it are basically the same thing to me as there is no turn based battles, random encounters, enemies and leveling up/skill system. This is just what I want when I play.
Yumme nikki fans seemed to be very calm listening its songs, though I feel anxiety and panic listening them. I am not the only one who does feel it that way, or am I not?
It puts me in a reflective and introspective trance-like state of mind. Hard to describe, but it rather does the opposite to me. It soothes my anxiety.

unlike yume nikki the backrooms are mid
The state of the backrooms has completely changed after that one video came out. People don't allow it to be just a liminal space anymore

Oh hi.
something about this feels dreamlike
Well, the whole game takes place in a dream.
@@matrixdalneres8214 I love when I dream things that are as special as the in game ones
That would be the idea, yeah
I wonder why
I don't know if you realize but this is literally just shield folk world pitched down
It's so simple and minimalistic, yet I can listen to this on repeat for hours. Amazing atmospheric drone.
It's calm and creepy at the same time
