The drums are only played when above water. I love it when they do the music dynamic like this. I think it was first done in Super Mario World with the Yoshi percussion. 😀
This deconstruction helped me figure out an old but classical method of producing higher pitches: Harmonics! I always heard a distinct “high” pitch at some parts of the songs, but realized it was actually the synth bass part that was producing that harmonic! Subbed!!
I think he means the "synth bass" parts. Those aren't really deep imo. Going to about 130 Hz of depth at the lowest note played here. Sub-low however goes "deep" ( < 100 Hz). It doesn't take away this is just a beautiful piece of music 😊
@@studiosynthsoundsb.v.383 oh no i dont mean in hertz when I say deep I mean like.. music note deep, like note on a lower end of a scale (im not music or i guess sound science savy sorry)
This is really mesmerizing to watch! If I could suggest anything, it’d be the Big Boo carousel from the Big Boo’s Haunt, but I understand if you don’t get to it!
As far as I know MK Wii does not use MIDI? Was quite rare for games to do so by that time. You'd have to recreate every instrument and the timing of every instrument along with all affects and such too vs being able to get the instrument used from the game itself
@@silverwolflee6978 Samples used for some of Mario Kart Wii's music are around the internet, but yes disc based games usually do not use MIDI or soundfonts. They are prerecorded. Would be a lot of work to recreate the music and would never be 100% accurate.
@@Claydood Right. Might be hard to exactly recreate it unless you know what instruments. plugins, VST's and how they were set up. For example. Koji Kondo used a Roland Sound Canvas for OOT and there is a VST based on it and you can get pretty close to recreating the music of OOT just from that alone. I remember seeing someone recreate Kokiri Forest using it and it was fairly close to how it sounded in game and I am sure with some tinkering you can make sound even closer. Otherwise you can get the actual samples from the game instead but it's pretty cool that you can use practically the same sounds he used if you get the VST.
Why is this song not called Jolly Roger Bay? Anyone knows? Neither are great levels, but I feel like JRB is more memorable and is also much earlier in the game.
I suppose in some way I am reminded of LittleBigPlanet because of these videos. It is due to the similarities to the interactive music from LittleBigPlanet.
Not to be a prick but you can download the midis then just download the sound fonts and get the same results. No work needed. I think this is what you are doing because you cant possibly produce them one every day

Man, I love dynamic music in video games.

We were in dire need of this song
Nice
Rodger that. It certainly bought about a Jolly mood.
I see what you did there
これマジでゲーム音楽としての凄さが伝わってくる一曲だと思う
割と本当にこの曲に憧れてゲーム音楽を始めた人もいるんじゃないかと個人的には思う

im not familiar with music theory or harmonics, i dont think i hear the high pitch parts youre talking about? the bass sounds deep and low to me

your deconstructions are amazing, please keep the good work up!
I can't believe the calmest song in the entire game has so many instruments in it.
You are putting some work man, I really like VGM and your work, keep it up bud and thank you.

Best song is Bomb-omb Battlefield
