  • JB Retirement inches closer for the Loo Household! It took a while for the approval process to finish, and now that it has, the renovation works are finally in progress! Mr Loo thought to record a good video updating us on the progress of the house, costs, and important decisions that need to be made with the architect. And also: what good food did Mr Loo find in JB this time?
Find out with Mr Loo in today's video!

The food and drinks are laden with excessive sugar and oil. It doesn’t meet the dietary requirements of vegetables (fibre). Moderation is the key to good health.

Have been watching your videos for a while and it's time to give you a shout out. Thanks for posting your real life experience in JB and I enjoyed the variety of topics. My wife and I are about the same age as you and your wife, we also like going back to visit JB every year but with a 90 day social visit visa from US. We also bought a condo back in 2018 and only use it 3 months every year. Yes, we also love JB and would like to continuously come back to enjoy the foods and great hospitality of the JB people. Keep up the good works and I believe your channel has contributed to more visitors to JB and the local businesses are thankful for you. Hope to bump into you and your wife someday in a Kopitiam 😀.

You might be eligible for the new 15 years mm2h visa with your existing condo in jb that’s purchased within 10 years. The only thing is you’ll have to prove a FD amount of approx S$45k in Malaysia. After your visa is approved, you can use half of that for your expenses in the country. The remaining half stays in the bank to earn interest. Just sharing cos it might be beneficial to you and your family worried free from the 30 days rules. U can stay as many days as you want but the minimum will be 90 days per year. Not bad for retirement. “P/S: Im not an agent/consultant” just sharing the information with you :)

Thanks to Mr Loo for sharing his coffeeshop makan in JB. By the way, YTF with CCF is available in Singapore in hawker centres. Price increase in JB is natural since many Singaporeans spend money there. It hurts the ordinary Johorean. But those Johoreans who run shopping retail businesses and eateries are very happy. Fuel subsidy changes in Malaysia is an internal issue that Anwar has explained carefully. The ordinary eatery food in JB is generally good. In KL, Ipoh and Penang the food standard is very good.

This 2 coffeeshop in Taman Sentosa side by side frequented by many Singaporeans hence the food and drinks will be pricier! The kampung chicken rice will also be pricier, normal chicken rice cost RM6-7 per plate! If not wrong the prawn noodles u order is large RM9, smaller one cost lesser. The opposite coffeeshop prawn noodles cost RM15 which is quite pricey but affordable to Singaporeans! Kopi O here is RM2.40 although pricier but taste better!

Malaysian food taste better than Singapore food because Singapore food has less salt, less sugar and less fat! This morning, we have Mei Cheng Xiang rice dumplings at $5 /2changs for breakfast. I have not eaten such nice Chang in Singapore for a very long time! Mei Cheng Xiang Chang is very smooth and delicious because it contains more fat than the normal Chang from other stalls and hawker centre!

Just a handful of commercial users are not subsidised, eg tour bus, construction industry, tow truck , etc...most commercial vehicles transporting daily necesstities, school bus, farmers, fishermen, etc are still being subsidised at average rm2 per litre. , much lower than 3.35 now...annual savings is about rm4 billion...main reason is to make sure those who really need help will get it and not to be used by smugglers

Dear Mr. Loo From Malaysian Standard is very high, certain areas in Malaysia like JB, kL and Genting. That's the reason. It depends on the areas and locations. Try to avoid buying a meal at a Hawker staff if the meal is RM10. I am now in Kuching after 1 week in Indonesia. Here in Kuching, l had chicken rice, drumstick, and plus one fried egg for my lunch today for RM7(SGD2) supper cheap. I am flying back to KL tonight. There are still areas in Malaysia where a meal is still RM5, states like Kedah Melaka, Kuching). JB is expensive, they cut your throat

Average monthly salary in JB is S$850, that chee cheong fan is $$5. How is that considered even remotely cheap? There is uproar now by the Malaysian people because the inflation is making Johoreans suffer in part due to Singaporeans going there to indirectly jack up prices by supporting the higher prices asked by sellers. The local Malaysians who don't work in Singapore can only stay home and eat and suffer in silence. The time will surely come when they will rise up in revolt. Just watch. This time it will not be just a minor riot/scuffle.

You are wrong. I know lots of Johoreans who capitalize on the demand coming from SG. These are local JB Malaysians who setup their own eateries, online businesses and industrial businesses that compete with SG. They are a damn motivated bunch of people. The smart Johoreans will love the present state of economics. The ones that do not wish to do more and sit back and relax are the ones that will suffer. I have been in Malaysia for 5 yrs now, i can tell you that Johoreans are more business smart than SIngaporeans.

    • @marvelcomiks8078

@@leeaaron7856 Thats what I am saying. These are the same people who will be targetted when Johoreans freak out at what they are doing to the state. They speculate, they flip, they make things expensive.
Many of us can also go over to JB and do these things. But we are afterall, still foreigners. If you scr3w your own people thats your business, but if you scr3w other people, get ready to be whacked by them when they explode.
Malaysia never liked foreigners, thats a fact. If they are Malaysians and they do it, thats their choice. You want to join in? Its a different game dude. You slapping your sisters' faces playfully vs we slapping her is different yeah.
