Learn what a peanut ball is, why it's useful, what it helps within the body, how to choose the right size, how to improvise if you don't have one and then come back for part 2 where I show you my top 3 most favorite positions for labor! L A I have no idea, sorry! I am not a labor nurse! She just placed it in between my legs when my progress started to stall, and positioned me in some certain way on my side and BAM!

    I used a peanut ball for my second labour and delivery, which was a VBAC birth, and it worked WONDERS! It definitely made my contractions way stronger but it was super effective in my success! I talk about it all in my birth stories on my own TH-cam channel!

    I was induced and my induction lasted 2 days, I was stuck at 5 cm. When I finally used the peanut ball I went all the way to 10 cm and baby was almost coming out within 30 minutes!

    I swear I'm so thankful I found your chanel. I am pregnant with baby number 2 and my first labour was SO long and even though I still think if my labour as an amazing and empowering experience, I am working so much harder this time round on being prepared for labour. There's so much I didn't know that could have helped so much the first time

    March of 2020 i had my son (baby #3) and had watched a video about using a peanut ball. So i asked my nurse and she was excited to get one for me. Now i do believe i was 8 cm at that point but it sped up the process b/c i was 8cm for a few hours. Either way im gonna do it again on baby #4 due summer 2022 :)

    Great video! 💜. Question, so I have a walking disability and my balance isn’t great. Can I use a peanut ball in replace of a birth/exercise ball during the laboring at home process (1-5 cm)? I was thinking of buying an exercise ball but I don’t know if I’d be able to keep my balance while sitting on it. Can’t wait for part 2! 🙂 Can I also use this to help position baby for labor? I’m currently 29 weeks and 2 days.

    I’m 36 weeks with my 2nd and wondering when I should plan to head to the hospital as my hospital is about 1.5hr drive. With my 1st, my water broke but I didn’t have contractions. I had super fast/intense contractions after PIT started and delivered vaginally after 9 hours total from first PIT dose. Hoping I go into labor on my own this time and labor at home as long as possible.

    I was 10cm with a cervical lip and exhausted so my midwife set me up with a peanut ball for a little bit so I could lay on my side and rest while the ball and my body did the work to get rid of the cervical lip... and it worked!

    • @ArielChadwick

      @@zehranehar7892 For me, I was basically fully dilated but there was a little bit of cervix still in the way just on one side.

    Could this help someone who is not yet in labor but is full term start to dilate? I’m currently set to be induced in two weeks and I’m not at all dilated. I have a peanut ball at home just wondering if using this at home will help start dilation or if it only helps once in labor

    • @rb7454
      @rb7454 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try castor oil! It’s super gross and can cause nausea but it does relax the Lower end of
      Your body to get induction as a result.

    Watching because I just heard nurses yelling they found the PB for someone on their way down the hall past my room and I am worried about a longer labor increasing my chances of a panic attack (I just randomly get them even in a familiar and calm place) or something else crappy.
    I'm due Dec 13 with medical induction and it's Nov 27, been here overnight after baby didn't pass his BPP test and won't cooperate with the NST belts for anything. I've had one of my two steroid shots so far, but they're betting he is behaving so differently due to me being in constant pain and multiple infections I've been fighting, so been treating me for pain, antibiotics and lots of huge IV bags to flush system first.

    • @mamasaurus4856
      @mamasaurus4856 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update if anyone wonders in the future: Baby definitely responded to the steroids once they got moving in my system. His heart rate is back to normal, his hiccups returned, and his movements have started to pick back up.
      I have three appointments with both OB and High Risk this upcoming week to keep us monitored.
      We are home now and I'm still hurting and having trouble eating, but I'm taking my meds as told and on my vitamins. My SO is working really hard to help keep me comfortable or at least offer to try to help, so that's helping me mentally.
      15 days to go as of now. 👍

    Question?? Once the water breaks and the baby and placenta are born, where is the water sac? I know once it's broken it would get smaller but it's got to go somewhere right? I've always wondered. I have saw all 6 of my babies placentas and never noticed or thought about the actual sac... Kinda weird but never thought about it until this pregnancy. Thanks hun

      A great question actually

    • @GW-gz8jh
      @GW-gz8jh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sac comes out usually with the placenta. Since the fluid is gone it usually lays against the placenta but can be lifted up and the membranes seen.

    Wish they’d have given me the peanut ball sooner than they did. Nurse brought it to me when she had me “labor down” after I was screaming in pain trying to push when the Dr told me told the Dr nope not happening he needs a break, Dr left and nurse set me up to rest.
    Hope I get a more experienced nurse right away this time. With both girls I started off with inexperienced nurses. They were nice and all but man my labor was ALL day and they just kept coming and checking me, not really doing anything. More experienced nurses are much more helpful.
