It indeed was a slow-paced and non abusive drama. This drama was so calming to watch, there were no shouting and no unnecessary dramas and subplots. It was simple and straight to the point *SPOILER ALERT* ⚠ Lemme go through the characters first ▪FL - She's smart, strong, brave, kind and gentle. Even though she loved ML throughout their marriage of 5 years, she never let her emotions rule in front of ML, otherwise she probably would have embarrassed herself. She was so diligent in what she does. She promised grandpa to sort out all the problems inside the company and trace down all the traitors within 5 years and she did that really well. Also by seeing the way her subordinates respect her, you can easily tell she has good leadership skills and a very talented person. Except for ML everyone around her including her in-laws, servants, business partners, even ML's friends respect her and also believe she is a good person. She carried herself with so much elegance and dignity ▪ML's grandpa - It's obvious he is a very traditional and a strict person, still I love how he wasn't prejudices against FL for her humble background, unlike many elders of nobles/elite families. He really trusted her with all his hearts. Even gave her 10% of the company's shares. ▪ML's mom - I love her. She is one of the best mothers-in-laws ever. I love how she wasn't discriminative towards FL regardless of her humble background and the reason for their marriage being scandalous (incident happened 5 years ago) . She genuine is a good person. Very caring and understanding. She even blamed and scolded ML for his unreasonable behaviours and attitude towards FL (even slapped him once). Even after the divorce, she stayed by FL's side ▪ML's cousin - Such a ball of sunshine. Very cheerful and lively. She is a girls' girl. Even defended FL multiple times in front of ML. She really loves FL so much. She is very supportive and caring. I loved character a lot. I love how she likes to be glued to FL even after the divorce. ▪Uncle Te (grandpa's comrade-in-arms) - I wish he could have told the truth about the marriage and the incident from 5 years ago earlier, but yeah it understandable since he was getting treated abroad all these years. Anyway it is clear he cared about FL a lot and even felt guilty for how she is being treated by ML all these years because of that one misunderstanding ▪FL's friends from orphanage/foster siblings/sworn siblings - I love them. They didn't have much lines/scenes in the drama but they really added lots of colors to FL's character, especially after the divorce ▪ML's nanny and butler - They are so nice. I love them. Very understanding and respectful. They are like part of the family yet never stepped over their boundaries. They are also very kind. Even if FL was not original a member of ML's family, they never let her feel like an outsider. They showed the same level of respect towards her ▪FL's secretary - She played a minor role in the drama yet leaved a good impression on me. I love how protective, respectful and understanding she is. She did a great job under FL during FL's time in the company ▪SML (ML's doctor friend also FL's senior) - Very kinds and respectful. I know he had feelings for FL for 5 years yet never let FL feel uncomfortable around him, in fact he never even let her know that. Only after the divorce he confessed his feelings. And the way he reacted and responded to the rejection is really cool. I love him ▪ML's friend (2:32) - He is that funny one in every friend group. He always made sure to light up the atmosphere whenever things get tensed up. Even when ML and SML confessed that they both have feelings for FL, he made sure they handle the things maturely (thankfully they indeed were mature) ▪ML's assistant - he is kinda cute 😂 and also funny at times. He is very supportive and respectful. A very much needed character to the story

He was very quick to judge people. 5 years is more than enough to study someone, ofc people change, I have seen how people turned out to be completely different from what I thought them to be. even after knowing them for over a decade. But the problem is he didn't even try to get to know FL. Only after FL started to act in a way which broke his definition about her, he started to search up about her. All these years he thought he knew about her more than everyone around her. He didn't even try to investigate the incident from 5 years ago. He just made an assumption and took it as a fact. Ok during during their time of marriage he thought she drugged him and caused that incident just so she could climb up the social ladder by marrying him. People said she might have done that because she loves him, then he expected her to act in a way to get his attention, but she never did anything like that. She controlled herself even though she loved him so much and carried herself in an unbothered and nonchalant way without letting herself get embarrassed. So he believed she made others think she loves him so much but in reality she only cared about herself and her status (17:58) . He never once thought to have a good conversation with her. Whenever they had a talk, it ended up ML getting mad at FL because of his initial view about FL. Not just that, he never even defended FL when outsiders badmouth her, even if he didn't have any feelings as a legal husband he has a duty to protect his wife's reputation. He failed her all the time. Also even of the things where he didn't do anything wrong but somehow ended up being misunderstood, he never bothered explaining to her, let it be the scandal from the beginning (which is his friend's fault), the surveillance footage check (14:52), or the reason why he let SFL join the company (27:23). Ofc you don't have to explain yourself to others, but if that explanation can save someone from getting their heart-broken, I think it is worth it. He is a CEO so maybe his IQ is bit high but his EQ is definitely low. But at least he realized his mistakes before FL move on from her feelings. And yeah he didn't get it easily. He learned it the hard way. At first after the divorce, he thought FL loved him so he felt he wronged her for thinking she didn't love him but the position she was in, but then he realized he was also in love. So apart from making up for wronging her feelings, he also has to confess his feelings, prove his sincerity and win her back .At least he wasn't messing around with other woman during their time of the marriage and wasn't physically abusive towards her. I loved the efforts he put to win her back let it be finding FL's parents' whereabouts or arranging FL's friends treatments or other little things he did. He made sure she felt his feeling and sincerity (2:08:31). It wasn't forceful It was a love story between two amateurs who are in love with each other. The way they handled their relationship issues you can tell they are so inexperienced, From the time of their marriage, the after divorce effects to reconciliation, everything felt very amateur-like. NGL it was cute they are each other's first love, so they are indeed inexperienced. They indeed are not well aware how to love someone (2:09:01). The way FL accepted ML back wasn't forceful, threatening, moral kidnapping or emotional blackmailing nor does that has anything to do with Stockholm syndrome, he made sure she felt his feeling and sincerity (2:08:31). FL still had feeling for ML even after the divorce, but she never let those feelings be at disadvantage and let herself get trampled on/humiliated. She stayed strong around ML's pursuit until she truly felt his sincerity. I love how more than 75% of this drama focus on ML working on himself and making up for his mistakes and letting FL decide on her own and both of them growing as a person while rebuilding their bond/relationship

I think a lot of viewers are skipping and not really watching the whole development of the story. If they were than they will see that ML tried hard regaining his trust from FL but in a very respectful way he wasnt pushy at all. When he thought FL chose his friend over him. He didnt try to convince her or push her to stay with him instead. He was very respectful with her decision and try to step away regretfully, though. Therefore, I believe ml should be given a second chance. Don't get me wrong, Im all about strong woman power and kicking scumbag. But in this story, ML wasn't abusive or a cheater. All of it starts out with one misunderstanding, letting to more misunderstand and non-communication. It wasn't all his fault. If only Grandpa had started telling the truth to ML, he was drugged by someone else, not the FL. None of the misunderstandings would have started, but then we won't have a story to watch. Lol.
I am pissed off that I watched this. I hoped for any retribution for the horrible things he did, but not only did he not suffer even for a bit, the woman took him back just like that. This kind of relationship is toxic, like bro, what did you do this whole time till she treated you like you are king. You needed to lose her to regret it and then started investigating and in the end she said to you "I love you from the very first moment" and he responded "Me too". Please lord, let love stories like this pass by me.. love is nice and everything, but if in the start is abuse, or in the middle, no metter how much I love you, I love me more. 每次看彩彩雲演現代劇，都有對女主心疼不已的感覺，太過苦情了，多演點古代裝，像之前的心機女也不錯，還是會支持的
I think a lot of viewers are skipping and not really watching the whole development of the story. If they were than they will see that ML tried hard regaining his trust from FL but in a very respectful way he wasnt pushy at all. When he thought FL chose his friend over him. He didnt try to convince her or push her to stay with him instead. He was very respectful with her decision and try to step away regretfully, though.
Therefore, I believe ml should be given a second chance. Don't get me wrong, Im all about strong woman power and kicking scumbag. But in this story, ML wasn't abusive or a cheater. All of it starts out with one misunderstanding, letting to more misunderstand and non-communication. It wasn't all his fault. If only Grandpa had started telling the truth to ML, he was drugged by someone else, not the FL. None of the misunderstandings would have started, but then we won't have a story to watch. Lol.

I am pissed off that I watched this. I hoped for any retribution for the horrible things he did, but not only did he not suffer even for a bit, the woman took him back just like that. His amends were TINY and way too late, and while in a series this can happen, I truly hope that no one in real life would ever take back such a horrible person.

為什麼要回頭ㄋㄟ？男主角幫女主角找到了女主角爸媽的一些東西，他本來可以早點這麼做的，是在感動個屁啊！不能因為感動就跟他在一起啊，就算不跟男二交往，也不該回頭。這些編劇都把女主角寫成戀愛腦，明明工作能力很強，可以靠自己打天下，卻故意讓她們忘記以前受到的屈辱，讓她們輕易原諒…真是氣人。
不過這部戲結局比較長一點，有足夠時間讓男主角表達自己的感情，以及想照顧女主角的心，還算可以交代。
不過我還是覺得既然被冷落了5年，就該多給男主角苦頭吃，而不是一點小小的感動就原諒了。
