Fantastic review, I’m in the UK we stayed at Palms this past May and I walked pasted during the lobster buffet ,wasn’t sure to chance it but I will next time we are there again in June 2025 😎
What's the secret to getting a reservation for Wed or Thurs lobster buffet? I see you can only book 2 weeks in advance (ie, on Tuesday, I can only see this week and next week and no reservations left). Do you know what day/time they release the next block of reservations? I'm planning for a trip in October and would really like to dine here if possible. Thanks for the help!
Hmmm, I'm not sure about that. I would call the hotel and ask them. They'll probably be able to get you a reservation. I called over there a few times to ask various questions and they have been very helpful.
Thanks for showcasing some of the vegan options at their buffet. Sounds about right with any buffet not the Wynn Buffet and doesn't look like I'm missing anything by not going there. Alas! 🤷♀ Thanks for taking one for the team though and reporting! 😊
@@LetsEatVegas That's why I almost never go to buffets, and when I do it's only the Wynn Buffet these days. Which I'm more than fine with anyway since I'm not one who likes stuffing my face anyway. 🙂
You're now the second person to make note of this. We're getting a kick out of it as we weren't sure if that was Danny or not. Thanks for the clarification, LOL. 🤣🤣
Hmmm, I had 3 whole lobsters and 8 tails. As for appearing in the video...we're trying to remain anonymous so we don't get special treatment when we do reviews. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Ah, I see. I was filming the main sign at the buffet and this guy walked right in front of me and made a goofy face. When I looked at the recording later I thought it might be Danny the Medic but wasn't sure. That's hilarious!
I KNOW!! I was really looking forward to the pasta and waited there for 10 minutes trying to get an employee's attention, but no, 😔. Lobster and Pizza doesn't really cut it, lol
The chef told me all the lobsters were from Maine. How do you know that's not true? As for being frozen, as we said in the video, how else are you going to get 16,000+ lobsters/week from Maine to Vegas at any type of affordable price? Thanks for commenting!
@@LetsEatVegas Captain Dan's is a Canadian supplier of lobster. The address is right there on the box at that time index marker, in English and French.
Yes, I saw that, but that doesn't always mean that's where the lobster comes from. As a former restaurant owner I've had a number of occasions in which I called a supplier to see if they had a special item I wanted which they didn't advertise. Many times a supplier can get you something if you're a good customer. So, you can't be so quick to assume that the address is the end of the story. You'd really have to know the exact deal the Palms has with Captain Dans. The chef at the Palms told me the lobster was from Maine and I'm not willing to call him a liar based on the address of the supplier. Second, the term "Maine Lobster" doesn't mean the lobster had to exist within the waters off of Maine. I'd refer you to the following link to wikipedia in which it notes that the "American Lobster", which is also called the "Maine Lobster", is found up and down the eastern seaboard from Labrador to New Jersey. So, this notion that a Canadian company couldn't supply "Maine Lobster" is not the case: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_lobster Anyway, excellent comment and thanks for watching.
The funny part is that I *_love_* one claw and dislike the other. I can't say right or left, because lobsters are like people in that some are left handed. Dude, if you have room for dessert, you're doin' it wrong.
I'm usually impressed by the thoroughness of your reviews, but wouldn't you consider it a major oversight, unless I missed it, to not have noted that the Palms lobster buffet is available only on Wednesdays and Thursdays? I'm certain you don't want any members of your devoted following to show up there on some other day of the week and be disappointed. Also, as a local who visits the lobster buffet frequently, I am not the only diner there who keeps his hands and fingers clean by putting on a pair of inexpensive blue Nitrile examining gloves with each lobster I eat. Nothing worse than getting one's fingers waterlogged at dinner. The gloves are available at any drugstore, and also there is a wide selection on Amazon.
Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting, we appreciate it very much. As for the Wed and Thur issue, I do mention in the description area that the lobster buffet is only available on those days. But, even if I hadn't (or if that is maybe too easy for people to miss), you have to make a reservation and so it wouldn't be possible to make a reservation on some other day for the lobster buffet. As for wearing gloves, yes, we do see some people doing that, but I feel getting down and dirty with the food adds to the experience, lol. I guess I'm just a reprehensible hedonist, 🤣🤣.
We really didnt care for it. We both absolutely love lobster and crab legs but these were too salty for us. To be honest, the food was all so lackluster that I dont even really remember what we had. I do recall some very unmemorable beef however. We would never do another Las Vegas buffet.
The several times we've been to this buffet the lobster and crab has not been even remotely salty. I had a chance to watch the lobsters being prepared and they are simply boiled and then brought to the serving area. I guess it's possible they accidentally salted or over salted the water in which the lobsters were boiled? If you want the best lobster you should go to Anthony's Prime. The lobster there at their Sunday AYCE buffet is much better than that at the Palms and the Beef Wellington is fantastic. Here's a video we did on that buffet: th-cam.com/video/dmoMNCWssFM/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching and commenting, 😁
Ouch, sorry to hear that. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I recently went there, and I was super excited to get to all you can eat lobsters, tails and crablegs. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. Lobsters were very small, rubbery and dry with no taste. The rest of the selections were limited and subpar. I would not recommend going there. Don't let these utubers tell you otherwise otherwise otherwise. My visit was on 10/17/24.
