I purchased the Hyped Solid and Pearl because many were saying there wasn't a lot of separation between the Pearl and the Hybrid. A friend gave me his Hybrid, and it quickly became my go-to ball. There's definitely separation between the Solid, Hybrid and Pearl. None of the Hyped balls like steep angles, so reading transition and stepping down is important. The solid reads much earlier than the other two, so as soon as the lanes breakdown, switching to the Hybrid is perfect. I found I can usually start off with the Hybrid on most league patterns, then switch to the Pearl when my angles become too steep. The Hybrid just doesn't quit! I bought a second, so I can drill it stronger and knock the shine off for heavy oil conditions.
@@andrewweltlich9065 Yeah it's so responsive to hand position and playable on every part of the lane, super versatile. I can understand why people can't get it to work though. People with less versitile games could struggle with pin carry.
@@Yuyuyuppp for me it’s when to play it. Definitely a ball for the fresh for me, then after a few games and some transition I can go into something else after if it starts to leave some corner pins. I love ZM though
I'm a broken record and have said this on a few other videos, but it applies here: The Hyped Hybrid looks SO much like the All-Out Show Off, just a little earlier/chuggier (the Hyped Pearl's about equal in length, just a bit weaker). Watching this video, and then going to watch your All-Out review from a few years ago, it's like the two balls play on top of each other. The All-Out is one of my favorite balls of all-time, so this is a REALLY good thing.
That kinda matches my reaction when I started throwing the Hybrid on the sport pattern too LOL. Honestly I hadn't watched this footage since we got it (in late August I think...) and I kinda forgot how good the Hybrid looked. Might need to dig it back out.
@@ShimWreckerEnterprises looking back at your progression video. You move from soul to Zen to IQ tour solid to hyped pearl. Where would you see hyper hybrid in this progression. @@andrewknasiak5290 sorry, missed replying to this! I actually kinda see the Hyped Hybrid in a similar control-oriented role to my IQTS that just gets there a very very different way. With how much the HH wants to slow down and dig in, it's actually a somewhat similar effect to what I got from the Electrify Solid (Luke's ESolid vs IQTS vs Hyped Solid video shows this pretty well).
This was great! I’m trying to fit something in between my Phaze 2 & IQ Tour. After this, I feel like the Hyped hybrid is the way to go. I was thinking the solid but it’s to close to the tour.
I have both of them, true as you said “Oh my god Becky” I use the pearl on a HSE shot deciding after warm up or go to my hy road and 2/3 game I use hybrid @ 4x4x2 The way the prices have gotten higher, the low end balls have got grit for the price. I'm using my Electrify Solid and Hyped Pearl for league. Seeing that Hyped Hybrid, I'm thinking about adding that... thanks for the review! Does Angel use the Hybrid?
Love the video, trying to find a good ball to ball down sometimes from my Haywire, just a regular house shot, most nights I can throw Haywire all night, some nights need something little weaker didn’t know if hyped solid would be good. Just like your opinion on a good ball down.
Yeah, it's kind of like a weaker version. It'll take a handful of games to get it broken in, it might even seen stronger out of the box than the Haywire since I imagine you have a lot of games on it, but as it breaks in and shines up a little, it'll settle in right under it.
Had the hyped Hybrid did not like it as it hooked twice for me once mid lane then at backend hard to control the pocket the Solid and Pearl look more like what i want to see in ball motion. ? I see there are 2 new overseas Hustles the Forrest and Lime they both have the VTC-20 cover stock do you think they may come Stateside as I missed out on the PBR
@@LukeRosdahl Aha thanks so with my 25*tilt and 80* rotation this would be a good drilling for me on longer and or heavier oil patterns?, so what layout(s) will give more backend on the Hyped Pearl
With those numbers, I'm not sure you're going to get much backend out of anything with any layout. I'd go more with like a 4 1/2 layout, those other numbers are fine, but you want the ball to get a little further down the lane before it starts moving, otherwise it's just going to be early and slow. Flare works both ways.
@@LukeRosdahl Just a FYI with my 25* tilt and 80*rotation backend is not my issue unless its heavy or long. I'm trying to find how to get my ball to read sooner on heavier and long without losing my backend a lot of my shots( on house) take out the 8 pin when the ball leaves the deck, I leave more 9 pins than the 10 pin. I know to go to stronger equipment and use surface for those conditions and for asyms use small ratios like 20 x 4 x 20 but for Sym balls ?
@@helenb2504 You're kind of stuck a little because as soon as you get a ball to read sooner, you're sacrificing backend shape. With your specs, it's going to be a tough go to begin with. I'd say it's a lot better to use more normal layouts and adjust surface, because if you drill the ball to be super early and aggressive, that's what it's going to do no matter what you do with the surface. At least if you drill the ball to have a little shape, you can fine tune it with surface. Likely a lot of asymmetric stuff, but you can't use super big layouts AND surface and expect to get any shape.
Nah, it's a limited edition that's only going to pro shops and it already costs me enough to make ball videos, I'm not going out of my way to pay a lot more to get even one, let alone more of them.
