  • Trigonometry is one of the most challenging chapters in the world of math. A lot of students fear trigonometry and questions from this chapter are always difficult to crack.
    In this video, we will deep dive into trogonimerty's main function which is SinX. Where the value of X is 90 degrees.
    We know the basics that the value of SinX in a triangle is considered the ratio of perpendicular side upon hypotenuse of the right angle triangle.
    SinX = P/H
    In a triangle, there are always three sides perpendicular, base & hypotenuse. If we want to find the value of sin 90 degrees then the value of X= 90 degrees where the value of base tends to zero and the other two sides become equal.
    Thus the value of Sin 90 Degrees = 1
    Check out the video for a detailed explanation.

    Similarly we can prove cosine of 0° = 1,if we bring the Hypotenuse significantly closer to the Base, hence the angle between them will be tending to 0° and both the sides will be approximately equal, thus by definition of cosine of any angle, we can say that cos0°=1.

    But sir if we take mathematics calculation aside from it and think it logically and use some simple rules of a triangle then this perception would violate the simple rules of a triangle.
    The sum of any two sides of a triangle is always greater than the other side.
    But in this case B+P=H [0+x = y].
    Also for a right triangle, the hypotenuse is always greater than the base and perpendicular.
    Let me know if anyone knows the answer.

    • @YouMeverse
      @YouMeverse ปีที่แล้ว

      Think again: when he says we're reducing the base, it also means we're reducing the hypotenuse. Additionally, we're not using the same hypotenuse as we did from the beginning; rather, we keep changing the hypotenuse as we reduce the base. However, it's not possible for the hypotenuse to become greater than the perpendicular (H>P) and still form a right triangle with a 90-degree angle (i.e., sin 90 degrees).
      When the hypotenuse (H) and perpendicular (P) have equal lengths (i.e., H=P), then we can use the Pythagorean theorem to find the length of the base (B). The Pythagorean theorem states that H^2 = P^2 + B^2, so if H=P, then B must be equal to zero. In other words, the triangle would not have a base.
      Now, when the triangle doesn't have a base, it means that the hypotenuse and the perpendicular form the two legs of the triangle, which are equal in length. This type of triangle is called an isosceles right triangle because it has two sides (the legs) that are congruent (equal) and one angle that measures 90 degrees (the right angle).

    What is wrong if we say sin is opp side / hypotenuse, and if we consider 90 degree angle, the opp side to 90 is hypotenuse itself. So opp/hyp actually becomes hyp/hyp which gives you 1.
    In my opinion this method is more suitable for 0 degree than 90 degree angle.

    Sir, would you explain that why :sin(1°)= 0.01745 and the value of 1degree = 0.01745 radian nearly is same. Apart from deeply explain the solution why both are nearly same. Sir you're my lovely teacher .one day we will meet .

    If slowly slowly you meet the two base point to eachother then it will no longer a triangle it will become a vertical straight line
    And if it is a vertically straight line then the triangle formula sin p by H doesn't gonna work.

    One question arises from my mind that is, if value of X approaches to 90° then triangle doesn't exist then how could we find value of sin.

    • @YouMeverse
      @YouMeverse ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct that a triangle must have at least three sides and that it must satisfy the triangle inequality, which states that the sum of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle must be greater than the length of the third side.
      However, in the case of sin(90), we are not talking about an actual triangle with physical sides, but rather a mathematical concept used to represent the ratio of the length of the side opposite the 90-degree angle to the length of the hypotenuse in a right triangle.
      In other words, sin(90) is not a physical triangle, but a mathematical concept that can be applied to any right triangle that has a 90-degree angle. In the case of a right triangle with a 90-degree angle, the hypotenuse is the only side present, and the opposite side (which is usually opposite to one of the acute angles) does not exist. Therefore, in this special case, the triangle only has two sides: the hypotenuse and the perpendicular.
      Even though this situation violates the rule that a triangle must have at least three sides, sin(90) is still a well-defined mathematical concept that represents the ratio of the sides in a right triangle with a 90-degree angle.

    But if P and H become equal and overlap each other
    Then it won't be a triangle anymore because one side would be of 0 cm and one angle would be 0 and two angles would be 90.

    Sir I have a question please tell 🙏🙏 me you say that you are increasing the angle then simultaneously hypotenuse is decreasing than it will coincide and then hypotenuse=perpendicular right 👍. Then tell me that in cos 0° = 1. So in this case angle will decreasing and then simultaneously hypotenuse will increasing than how it will possible that hypotenuse= base tell me please 🙏🙏?

    Since all the trigonometric ratios are valid in right angled triangle only so for extra 90 angle in a right triangle is not possible and for x approaching to 90 degree angle will make it a line not a triangle

    If the hypotenuse becomes perpendicular, then won't it be a straight line instead of a triangle? Though mathematics depends mostly on imagination, but still i had this confusion.
    In our course, we learnt how these values came by the help of the Unit Circle.
    Nonetheless, i think this is a wonderful explanation.

      0° and 90° of any trigonometric function is not actual value but tending value...
      It means as the angle of sine function tends to 90° . perpendicular and hypotenuse tends to be equal...😊
