I’m planning to purchase a RV but I’m concerned with the maintenance. I just seen a RV going down Interstate 40 with the slide out. That’s why I’m concerned.

I'd like to see something when ordering a RV, not just buying one off the lot or 2nd hand.

We are a small family of 3 with 3 kitties. Everything about our home, like the homeowner's insurance. The homeowner dues, taxes and the payment has nearly reached a point we just can't do it anymore. We are considering selling our house and outright purchasing a 2 bed 5th wheel or bunk house travel trailer. We do not want our son to lose his o.Room in privacy completely. I personally don't like the travel trailer idea for living but they are cheaper but mostly because it feels claustrophobic with the low ceilings and even lower slideouts. However the cost of a fifth wheel and possibly having to address the truck situation (again) is another story. The travel trailer or fifth wheel well primarily be stationary for the year, but during the summer months when school is out we do plan on either moving it by the lake at a local R. V campground or traveling to other states. We do not want to buy brand new because we don't wanna be the ones to endure the practically instant depreciation as soon as it's off the lot. Now, since we will be living in it full-time, not sure for how long, What are the best brands/ models in your opinion thats used for reliability durability,
and longevity? We may possibly have to live in it up to 5 plus years until we have enough money saved to move forward. We're looking to spend 40 to 50 thousand cash from the sell of the house. We cannot afford to buy a lemon or something that needs constant minor repairs. Can you give us any ideas to go about what we should look at and definite ones to avoid.
And maybe on the travel trailer part, the ones that have the tallest ceilings. We temporarily had an East to West camper for just over a year and we loved it and one of the things that we loved about it was it had the taller ceilings. Not much taller, but still they were taller. Unfortunately the Sway bar mechanism that attached from the camper to the track failed and the camper broke loose from the truck and therefore when the camper hit the ground, it shoved the tongue up which then bent the frame. We did not think it was that bad. The frame was bent yes, but very mildly, and most everything inside the camper went undisturbed, but since the frame could not be replaced per safety regulations and through our insurance company and repair shop, it had to be totaled. What a waste....But it was actually a blessing in disguise because my husband's truck ended up killing over and so we had to have a new truck payment. We just want to get ourselves in a better situation and be happy and have a little freedom while we're at it. Thank you in advance for any info you can give us.

I’ve known people who gave up home ownership temporarily to live in an RV and save money. The problem is they take a huge financial loss on the RV and real estate values continue to increase. Temporary becomes permanent. There was a time in my life where the house left a tight budget but I managed. Paid off vehicle and just inflation made the payment more manageable and I paid extra. Now it’s a paid off rental and I live in a paid off house. Anyhoo if you can at all keep the house, imho that’s likely a better decision for long term financial security. 15 years from now the RV could be junk, vs 15 years from now the mortgage could seem small and leave you with the ability to help the kids college bill, fund an ira, and maybe knock extra off the principal each month.

I have a travel trailer and am concerned about the security of it due to the common keys used. Can you make a video about upgraded entry door handles that are ones you’d recommend for security of my family and belongings? Thanks!

Those are my number one choice for towable or truck campers but like you I would like to know about the plumbing as well.

Should you buy a used RV if it has been in a flood up to the floor and all appliances and electronics have been replaced. It is a Luxe 5th wheel camper 2018

    • @SpykersB

      Red flag imo.
      Was the floor replaced too?
If it was flooded to the extent that the so called all appliances n electronics-whatever that means; needed to be n were really replaced means the flood was more extensive than to believe n the floor unless replaced has gotta have rot in it, it's definitely been compromised.
The walls are attached to the floor ya know, think about it.
Private seller, or dealer? A dealer is gonna do minimal to resale.
I would get an inspection done by someone who knows what to look for. And I don't know how you're gonna get insurance on a water damaged rv either. Good luck.
(Btw, if someone actually said to u those exact words "...and all electronics", sounds like a BS salesman to me). 🍻
