I’m tears as I write this. I sang this at Hampton, with HIS CHOSEN SOUNDS with Mr. Dillard from 2005-2009. This song jumped in my spirit this morning and I was so blessed to find this this morning. Beautiful rendition. Thank you for his legacy WSSU. And the soloist? Whewwwww. The control and beauty. Thank you, thank you.
Ashli, thank you very much for your comments. Royzell and I were classmates and College and Concert Choir siblings. He was our student manager and I was the student conductor. Therefore, we often had to collaborate about all things "choir". I miss him so much! This concert was to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Roland M. Carter (my musical father/mentor) and to share my musical experiences I had at Hampton. I hope it brought wonderful memories back to you. D'Walla Simmons-Burke, Director of Choral and Vocal Studies Winston-Salem State University
The way this song has ministered to spirit is unexplainable! ❤️
Sing Brandon!!! WSSU University Choir is 2nd to None!!!! I’m a proud product of this great group of singers under the baton of Maestra D’Walla S. Burke!
I love the fullness of his voice
Sing Brandon!!!!! My God!! I'm surely a product of the VSU Concert Choir under the direction of the one and only Johnnella L. Edmonds, but I love y'all too!!! LOL!! This Royzell song is GREAT!!!
Yes, I'm a product of Johnella L. Edmonds as well. I remember Royzell Dillard, he was a nice man. This piece is awesome, so inspiring. Brandon, he is a vocal powerhouse. Love it!!!!!!!
Sing young King! I had the absolute pleasure of singing under Dr. Royzell Dillard at Hampton University and this was my most favorite song. His presents is missed. Thank you for this unintentional living tribute of his legacy!

This was a VERY intentional tribute to my classmate - Royzell Dillard! Royzell and I were both students at Hampton at the same time, under the leadership of Dr. Roland M. Carter.
