I found a trick: If you would like to be at 25mm AND focusing at 100% infinity for star photography, move your zoom at exactly 300mm, then manual focus far left (at the mountains of the red line), and then move all way back to 25mm. You will automatically perfectly focusing infinity ∞ which is between red line and white line.
Hi ! Can you please help me tune my pansonic fz 1000 for long exposure shooting of waterfall and waters at all? I'm ready to try : iso-125,2,5 or 4sec. shuter speed,and 4 f-stop. The question that comes now is do i have to take the pics using a timer or no? i don't have any remote shuter control ... Thank's in advance.
I'm planning on taking pictures of the night sky with this exact camera. However, I am not a photographer and would like to start getting into it through Astro photography. I will be going to a national forest and it will be relatively dark. What should I do to focus the camera at night to get good shots (since it will be too dark to see anything to focus)? Also, Any advice on taking still shots of the night sky like the Milky Way would be greatly appreciated!!

dumb question but the focus settings you talk abut here apply to video as well?
