    I’ve never seen anyone providing this much in depth analysis about the Beatles. You deserve a Ph.D in Beatleology.

    Hey Mike, not only are you a great teacher. I believe you are a great music historian for the Beatles.
    I don't know if you have ever had an opportunity to meet Paul or Ringo but I hope you do.
    Having someone as dedicated as you are to preserving their legacy....these guy in my opinion owe you debt of gratitude.
    If anyone reading this comment know Paul or Ringo....please reach out to them and let them know about Mike's work.
    You are the best Mike ! Thank You

    Mike, I was 15 in 63, when The Beatles showed up in America, it was a Revelation for us, young kids, their fresh new Sound was something Huge, a complete Revolution, that was to change Music for ever, I was lucky to witness their complete Evolution through the years, and I,m still Amazed at their Talent, something we,ll never see again in a Lifetime. Thanks for keeping it alive for the younger Generation.

    The vocals on the bridge are some of the most outstanding vocals ever recorded. "If I were you, I'd realize that I", etc. Paul's high harmonies with John's vocal are just soooo great. Anyone disagree? I thought not.

    • @guitarino1
      @guitarino1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Yes, there is an urgency about the bridge vocals, John and Paul, which commands attention.

      Speaking of high harmonies, Baby"s in Black off the same album features even better high harmonies in the middle 8- if that's at all possible!

    Excellent analysis of one of my fav Beatles songs; it has that smooth mellow flow of say, I'll Be Back, Paul's vocals add so much kick! Ringo's off beat rim shots are wonderful.
    Mike you are a true musical scholar and your work on this site should be preserved as a scholarly work. Your musicianship, recording expertise, concentrated deep listening of tracks, use of similar Beatles-like instruments, and your research into the Beatles world is exemplary scholarly work Mike. This tune is wonderfully melodic with the hook, for me, being the A minor to E minor change accompanied by a cymbal crash. A great video on your part. The detail to strumming is something I'd not paid much attention to before but is such a key element.

    Great job on this. I've been doing my own remakes in my studio and when you get into the structures and harmonies on stuff like Nowhere Man, and You Won't See Me etc., You start seeing the genius behind the music. Their early songs were extremely short, some like 1:50 and many around 2:00 minutes long, but the musicality, tone, harmony was harder to produce than it sounds. It was the little nuisances that they all added and George Martin was a huge part of the finished product. There were literally five geniuses and talented guys in the studio. How they came up with these musical ideas was either drug induced or some kind of out of body experience. Out of 70 or so songs, there were only a couple that I didn't care for. Amazing stuff. Mike, you pretty much have it figured out. Thanks for that.

    Really, really great job on this fabulous but lesser-known Beatles gem! I played in a Beatles cover band for 20+ years, and performing this song live never failed to produce the goosebumps that I'm sure all my fellow musicians out there have experienced. Damn I wish that band could have lasted forever, but sadly, ALS took our lead guitarist/high-harmony singer from us way too soon.

    Thanks Mike for providing that in depth break down of the guitar parts. I have always preferred the 1963 - 1966 Beatle catalog. My favorites being Rubber Soul and Revolver over the psychedelic crap in the mid 1967 to early 1970's.

    • @MPfrance
      @MPfrance  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      George Perillo - You are welcome and I totally agree. I think Sgt. Pepper's is one of the most over-rated albums ever. True - it was groundbreaking for the time. But NOTHING has come close to standing the test of time as the lads' catalogue from 1963 to 1966 in my humble opinion. Tho' -psychedelically speaking - "I Am The Walrus" is still my number 1 fave.

    I was always impressed that he wrote a minor to e minor then Fmaj7 to e minor instead of repeating the a minor. It somehow reveals the emotional wound anew with extra poignancy. The sixth chords seem a bit out of place -almost bossa - but they set up a kind of foil to the kicks.This song is freaking great and I think the best John track on Beatles for Sale
