- Grand Manan, New Brunswick, Canada is an international birding destination. Just off the coast of Maine, the island sits at the entrance to the Bay of Fundy, home of some of the highest tides in the world. The cold, food-rich waters draw birds and whales from all over. Take a quick tour of 11 hot spots on the island.
Nice! Thanks for the great tour of those islands!
Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. 👍209
We've been going to Grand Manan for twenty years...a slice of heaven on earth!
I could live there, no problem.
Thanks for the excellent tour Bob! Grand Manan just made my bucket list!
What an awesome place I will visit I hope before the summer ends 👍 Super video Bob thanks again !
Great video as usual. I'm not a US national, so I wonder if I'd need a Canadian VISA to visit this place. Looks likely.
One of your best videos, Bob. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! It took three days to edit hundreds of clips. I'm ready to move on to something else...which, by the way, is a pelagic birding trip on Bar Harbor Whale Watch first thing tomorrow morning!
You sure make your birding area look beautiful! Thanks for the amazing content!
This might be the most enjoyable birding/travel video I’ve ever seen…. Thank you Bob!
I just love this island. I could live there.
Thanks for all the knowledge and info you share on the channel. Living in midcoast Maine its really nice to get some tips on the birding hotspots. Keep it up and thanks again!
Thanks. They're fun to do, and it gets me out of the house.
Thanks for the tour ❤
There's another tour coming. This time, what to do with a week of dense fog!
On our visit years ago, we went on the boat that visits Machias Seal Island. That was the highlight of our visit to New Brunswick but Grand Manan was a wonderful place to explore as well. Of course, we left with a bag of dulse from Dark Harbor. Thanks for another entertaining video!
Great info!! We will be adding this to our list of coastal areas to see!!
Keep up the great work!
There is no way to do this place justice in one video. There are secret spots all over the island, and the waters offshore are often amazingly full of birds and marine mammals. I look forward to updates in the future.
If you do, I recommend a whale watch trip with Sea Watch Tours in Seal Cove. I got fogged out TWICE during my latest foray to the island. On previous visits, the offshore number of pelagic bird species around the whales was off-the-charts.
Wonderful👍🏻👍🏻
dulse....flavorful....you said a mouthful!
Hey Bob I'm on the Island right now partly based on this video. I'm staying at Castalia Marsh Retreat and I have NESP's 40 feet from me!! I went to the WC Breakwater; how's that not a hotspot; thanks for the tip.
There are so many secret little places on the island. I always visit WC Breakwater. How is Castalia Marsh Retreat? It's about time I tried it.
@Bob_Duchesne it's great. It's rustic but comfortable. I'm in the Birdhouse, which is practically in the marsh. It's small, and the bed is in the loft which is a bit awkward, but it works.
