I really liked your reaction to this, and now I would LOVE to see you react to Nightbreed some time! It's by the same author and has several of the same actors as this movie. Including the guy who plays "Butterball" (who you call Thumb-something). Spoiler: He is actually gorgeous and his role is pure perfection!!! And one of the delivery guys in this movie plays my other favourite character. He was in fact offered the role of "Pinhead" (both he and Doug were) but declined because he didn't want to have to go through the whole prostethics process again.
Oh I'll look into it! I was also calling him Thumb Head. Remided me of the Thumb Heads from the Spy Kids movies, but I guess they are actually called Thumb-Thumbs XD
