Thanks for this! I'm about to replace my westy's tent and removing the top is a logistical nightmare on my property, but now i see it can be done onboard and i already have those tools :)
Thanks man, very helpful, thou mine is a '77 and there are no metal piece for the top. It uses a rubber strip over the canvass and just stapled in place. I'm having difficulty with two things....getting the bottom metal brackets to lay flat (like the canvas is small....but I know it's just how I'm doing it) and also issue with the top being drawn right. Soo, the first time, I tried attaching the top and then bottom, but now I am just holding the top in place with one staple through it on each of the four sides. I will then attach the bottom brackets front, then rear, then sides...like you did...then finally secure the top. Wish me luck!
