This is my 1991 VW Vanagon Carat Wolfsburg Edition. It's Tornado Red, and I'm in the process of documenting it. What to know and all the upgrades it has.

That engine lid isn't going to melt and put out a fire, it's going to burn. Get a Blaze Cut for the inside of that lid, then you'll have some fire protection. Nice looking Bus!!

Thank you for mentioning that. I recall reading the plastic lids ability to put out an engine fire from a comment someone made in another video. I'll be more careful in future about spreading false information like that. Much appreciated for commenting and pointing that out. I always welcome feedback on stuff I say that doesn't sound right. I'm in no way perfect, lol.

I carry 3 fire extinguishers and have one of those in my wish list. An once of prevention is worth a pound cure, read as $200 of blaze cut will save our 2000(?) pound Volkswagens 😂 STOC

Noice! The first VW I owned was a Red 1990 VW Carat I bought from a dealer in Portland, Oregon. I brought it to the east coast in 2000 and had to sell it after the head gasket started leaking...I couldn't afford the time or $ to fix it then :(. I am however overjoyed with what the universe replaced it with :) nice dub! Glad to see someone enjoying theirs as much as I do mine 😄 STOC

I enjoyed my Carat soo much! U-Haul put on a trailer hitch and additional trans cooler, but when they went to connect the cooler they attached it to the air conditioner condenser instead of the radiator...I learned a lot about the AC system 😅

In europe carat is tottaly different layout. In europe your layout is called multivan.

It's actually a multivan here in the US as well.
