okay...you get the BIGGEST award for not giving up and tossing it all out! I'm sure the soaps that get made with this coconut will be awesome.

Thank you for the laughs 😂😂 I love eating fresh coconut but the effort of getting it out the shell puts me off. 10 out of 10 for your perseverance 😂😂

In India we use a lot of coconut milk in our cooking.... We grate the coconut without taking the coconut out of its shell and making sure no brown skin is grated with the flesh. Then we grind the coconut along with the coconut water to a fine paste and then remove the milk using a muslin cloth

How do you grate the coconut without taking it out of the shell? That sounds easier but I don't know how I could do it since the curves inwards? Thankyou for sharing

Oh, what an ordeal for you! Fresh coconuts are such a pain.👏 Congratulations on sticking with it - now you deserve something nice to drink while you put your feet up and binge videos!
My way of making my own coconut milk for soap: open pouch, spoon out desired amount of coconut milk powder, seal pouch, blend powdered milk into oils. Seriously, if stores in the UK don't carry Native Forest Organic canned coconut milk ("Simple" - "No Guar"), or the Aroy-D brand (one you might likely see in an Asian grocery), the powder works great and saves so much time. I understand, though - there's something really appealing about that pure white creamy liquid.

Just binge watching your vids. I was feeling a little down about stuff but after this I could not stop giggling like a school girl. The way you wrestled with that coconut and food processor was just halarious. It was all hands on deck. Great teamwork between you both. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for uploading your ordeal its great to see a genuine first attempt. 👍 Agree getting the coconut flesh out of the shell is the hardest part. A tip if you ever try again punch holes in all three dents of the coconut, not just one, the water will come out much faster. Chop up the meat as fine as you can with a knife, and as you suggested try your stick blender or maybe a smoothie maker if you have one.

Thanks so much for the laughs! I lost it when the coconut came flying out of the pour spout! I have made my own coconut milk using unsweetened coconut and water and a blender, not a food processor. Hope the soap making goes better than the coconut milk making!!!

Hello!!! Just to give a heads up,it's always easier to make a 2nd hole, that way air supply flows thru. I also give the shell a couple of whacks to loosen the flesh a little. 😊

So funny Anne, you're such a good sport. Also, the Knights of Nee outro did not go unnoticed 🤣🤣 Hey, by the way I can find tinned coconut milk here that has no guar gum and is purely water & coconut and it contains 53% coconut so it's delightfully creamy and is a very light colour which helps in soaping. It's great, it's easy to use, has a higher fat content that any of us could probably squeeze/produce at home, plus nobodies got time for that🤣🤣There is also a powdered vegan coconut milk i get and the only additive is a vegan tapioca based maltodextrin. Hello Pure in Australia sells loads of coconut milk products, that's where i get my powder and the TCC cans at the coles supermarket. Cheap too.

My mother used to make coconut milk quite often in Jamaican cuisine. My job after my mom got the coconut meat out was to grater it and then add water, then strain until we used the blender with water instead. Then strain it off. Sneak a few pieces in for myself. The brown part can be scraped off or not it’s personal choice. Doesn’t affect anything really. But your friend has the coconut opening part down. I use coconut milk powder in soaps myself, guess why? 😂

Next time you do it poke one of the other holes as well so that there are two holes it will come out easier 😂

When blending coconut you cut it very finely or grate it using a grater. Then blend with water s bit at a time. Don't overfill. You don't need to remove membrane then sieve out the husk.
I think you used the wrong type of blender. 😂
